    Looks like the same 1.6TDCI engine that was in my 2011 focus I owned for a while. I agree the oil filter is in the worst possible place, I always put a bit of rag underneath the housing to catch the spills and I always wiped around the inside of the filter housing before I put the new filter in.
    The engine was reliable in my Focus except for several blocked fuel filters. Did you change the fuel filter, I would recommend changing it if you didn't. This engine is also well known for turbo failure if oil changes are skipped, oil feed pipes block up with carbon causing turbo oil starvation.

      Yes. He’s very informative when he wants to be , but forgets that some people watch videos from the start of a project till the end and are interested in costs etc. still waiting on the price breakdown for the window cleaning van that he said he’d do . When these type of channels ‘forget’ to do a price breakdown , it always makes me think that it wasn’t profitable ?

      @Carl8324 4 роки тому +2

      @@stephenevans1833 and to be honest there’s nothing to be ashamed of if you don’t make a profit, I’ve done a few before in the past and it is hard even when you try and keep costs to a minimum. Paul is a one man band, doesn’t have extensive resources, trade discounts, donor cars etc. He does come across as a decent bloke, but I think being more open can only help the channel grow - which I’m sure we’d all like to see.

      will be done during a very near future midweek episode once the resistor arrives

  • @neilbirch9903
    @neilbirch9903 4 роки тому

    Your calling it a resistor but it’s role is a thermal fuse , it blows when the heater gets too hot and it does that because people skimp and don’t change the cabin filter( which I didn’t see you do )
    As other commentators have said don’t use those filters , the filtration level is nowhere near the same as an OE filter and that’s really important on the engine type . History is littered with turbo failure of this engine caused by carbonisation , oil feed starvation and pick up blockages . And make sure you use exactly the correct spec not just any 5/30

      Crosland filters I have found are roughly a similar quality to the OE, but as you state not identical I can not be sure if the difference is noticeable due to so many variables. I think (might be wrong) Euro Car Parts brand now, blocked/heavily soiled filters also cause problems so it does depend on the customers budget.
