    We are also from Willis Tx. Not Thousand Trails members yet but we may do it some time. We live here on the lake and RV part time at the moment.
    Hope to do a lot more of it now that she is retiring. Hope to see you out there. Jim & Yolanda Couch aka WillBilly Heaven.

    Please explain the “Home Park” for Thousand Trails. I don’t have a Home Park. I have one for RPI though

      Home Park means, we just made this our home park. It's where we come back to once a year to take care of personal business before we head south for the winter. It's where everything first started.

    Year before our Motor home was broken into and people stayed
    in it using the bathroom and eating the food in the cabinets. We were told they
    had been caught and was not the norm since it is fenced all the way around. We
    decided it was safe again so this year I just picked it up and found the
    battery dead but had just driven it 2 weeks ago to get the inspection done.
    Jumped it off and it sounded like a tank. Come to find out the catalytic
    converter was cut out. When I told them, they sounded SO surprised!
    Then I called in to get a police report and the officer
    stated they had several calls about the converters being taken. I then called
    them back and asked why they sounded so surprised!!! The person said she had
    only heard of one other one. These people lie so good it is scary.
    The dock is destroyed and the electric system is so
    compromised that they have several of the best sights shut down. They always
    say there is a new person here that will have it fixed this year but they lie
    about that as well. Last year they had their pool fixed but during the summer,
    It was not ready ubntil the last month of the summer. Stay away from there if
    you value your belongings. All in all, a terrible dilapidated place to stay and
    is getting worse every year
    The sound it had to make to cut all these
    convertors out must have been horrendous yet not one person there heard 1
    thing??? They are part of the gang if you ask me.

      All we can say is WOW. I must say we've been coming to Thousand Trails, Conroe (Willis area) for years and this is one of their best parks in the south gulf states areas. They have been pouring millions of dollars into this park over the past 2 or 3 years and we know a lot of people here and we have many friends here. NEVER, have we heard of any stories like this. Maybe your rig was parked way in the back storage area for any extended period of time or something like that I don't know. But IMO this was an isolated incident. We have a lot of history in this park. This has never been our experience or any of our many, many friends that stay here on a regular basis.
      Sorry for your experience.

    So what would it be like to buy a small house/cottage at this location? Any hidden fees?

    • @RVstreet
      @RVstreet  4 роки тому

      Oh gosh, the prices vary a lot and yes they're are other fees. Plus at this park you have to be off the property a total of 90 days/year.

    who does the editing and is it hard to do?

    • @RVstreet
      @RVstreet  3 роки тому

      Martin does, and yes it can be hard to do if you're not experienced with that kind of software. Martin usually takes at least 2 days-sometimes more-putting together every video.

    When I went last April was not allowed in the new site area. Also was directed to sites that were way to small for my 32 ft. 5th wheel. Many of the sites were not level and the dirt roads were rough and rutty. I was disappointed after many people told me how nice Conroe was. That said, for once we camped at a Thousand Trails that the hot tub was working. The swimming area is very nice and walking out to the little island was nice. If you have a boat it would be worth staying here. I liked Colorado and Medina better.

      Well, I'm sorry your experience was not so great. But you're right about the back roads being rough and rutty as we also pointed out in this video. I really wish TT would take care of this issue. We've seen a ton of improvements to this park in the last 4yrs. though, and we've made a lot of great friends in this park. Concerning your 32' size and not being allowed to get into the new section...I wasn't aware of any size restrictions in this area but now that you've brought this up, I'm going to inquire about this...this winter when we return.
      Thanks so much for chiming in Karen.
