  • We're heading up to Maine for the summer & we decided to zero in on Thousand Trails Hershey RV Park here in Lebanon, Pennsylvania where we currently are and did a complete review on this Thousand Trails Camp Ground.
    Most of them were quick, short stops and really didn’t warrant a full review. However, once we finally arrive in Maine, we will be doing a complete-compilation video-of the entire 1,900 mile trip to give you all an overview of how it all went.
    We are here for two weeks and it’s a good thing too. On the way here, while towing our Ford Fiesta-we ran over a big metal door on the highway and it flipped up and went right through the bottom of the Fiesta’s engine. So our car is having a new engine put in it as we write this 160 miles away. Video coming up on this event too. Oh boy….what a day that was.
    Thousand Trails Hershey RV Park is a very nice park, nestled in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, right off Hwy 322. It’s not a huge park, but a nice size park, with good amenities, a lake, a store and other goodies, along with friendly people and staff. We are in the middle of AG country believe me. Lots of farms spread out as far as your eye can see. We also were able to go to the Hershey Factory in Hershey, PA which we’ll include some of that here.
    This camp ground just opened about 2 weeks before we got here. Most, if not all of these eastern camp grounds don’t even open till mid April and some won’t turn the water on till May 1. However, we do have full hookups here. It was kinda tough getting this video done with all the drama going on with the car, so we hope you enjoy this camp ground review. Oh, and sorry for the poor audio. Usually it’s much better. I was having trouble with our mic and we actually had to do our overview section twice to get what you heard. It’ll be much better next time as always.

    Thanks for the review. We are new to Rving so need to learn a lot about what camground membership could be better financially. Can we just make reservations without be a member.? Regarding the smell I believe it will never go away. I live near farm land. We can bearly enjoy our front porch one chicken and pig 🚚 do pass thru out main road and two when the farm decided to air out those chicken coop 🏃‍♂️ far away if you can. I was concerned that we may find the same near camp grounds. Will be nice to have a list of camp grounds away from farm land.

      Can't make reservations without being a member or at least ave bought aa annual camping pass.
      When in this park you don't smell that. Only when you get in the car and start exploring the surrounding area.

      @@RVstreet what's AA annual camping pass? Does the God Sam membership help on campgrounds? Right now I have Harvest Host .May need to upgrade to Boondocking Welcome for longest stay. Definitely expensive lifestyle.

    • @RVstreet
      @RVstreet  2 роки тому

      That aa was a typo. I meant to say you need *a* thousand trails camping pass. It cost $300/yr. and allows you to use some of thousand trails camp grounds in that region. We don't use Good Sam and don't find their savings help much. We don't find RVing expensive at all but you have to do it right and plan well.

    Do you have any opinions about Harvest Hosts? I know many if not all the HH locations have rig length restrictions and no hookups, but it does seem like they would be a good option for overnight stops.

    YAY!!! So great to see you guys! Hope you're safe with the tornadoes and storms! Yikes! We have family in south-eastern PA and we're keeping an eye on the weather. Who would have guessed there would be freaking TORNADOES in Pennsylvania!? Crazy! Sorry to hear about the Fiesta... happy to hear that it's a Ford (my sons work for Ford). Hahaha! You ARE "cute and different"! But that's why we love ya! Or I should say "yous" since you're in PA: that's a big thing in PA and the only place I've ever heard anyone use the term "yous" instead of "ya'll". Glad you were up to Maine by the time you posted this - so I know you're clear of the really bad weather going on right now. Hershey is near our family and I can tell you this (sad but true fact): most of the chocolate production has been moved to Mexico.
    Also, thanks SO much for driving through the properties and showing us how to drive into them, too! And sharing the maps puts it ALL into perspective! No one else does this and we greatly appreciate it! How DO you keep your red pencils so perfectly sharp?
    We love the video and can't wait to meet you two one day! Happy (thousand) trails, Martins!

      Oh Dee...what can we say...but we would love to meet you too. Yes we are in MAINE now. Yahoo!!!! Can you believe it? OMG!!! 1900 miles and so many awesome stops. We're heading out tomorrow to explore some kewl new places and leaving here Saturday for Bucksport, ME. We're here in MAINE for about 4 months and can't wait to get some footage. We're going to try a whole new approach to our video's to share with all you guys. Please stay in touch. We always enjoy your comments.

    The smell in town depends on if the factory is working and the blow of the wind.

      Ya no chocolate smell this time but we sure did get a good whiff of the fresh cow manure when we drove around the country side. All the farms were laying it out for growing season. Pee U.
