They are busy partnering with companies that make inferior products to celebrate their 25yr anniversary instead of firing their lazy staff who could of damn well made a portable Dreamcast by now.
I play lots of fighters & have just recently fell in love with the Saturn-styled 6-button controllers. This is great news, especially since the DC has the greatest fighting game library around
Looks cool, i have 2 wireless Retro Fighters Striker DC pads. Overall pretty decent controllers but the d-pads are horrible for fighting games on those. So i usually just use a Brook Wingman adapter with a wireless Retro-Bit/SEGA Saturn controller. The D-pad on this new D6 controller looks alot more like saturn style D-pad. I will wait for some decent reviews on it. If it's good, i'll pick one up
Hmm, that is the deciding factor. This makes me think, the BrawlerGen (Sega Genesis & Sega Saturn Controller) might be a great option using a Saturn converter... although I'd like to know if the analog stick is detected. If it does that would kinda make it the best all rounder... although no VMU support obv. but neither does this.
Looks cool, I too would like a clear blue option, but whatever. Meanwhile Retro Bit has been telling us to look forward to news on their DC controller for like 5 or 6 years and still crickets from them.
This is great. I am kind of surprised at the lack of good alternative Dreamcast controller alternatives at this point. The Retrofighters Dreamcast controller isn't bad but I would prefer that the plastic didn't feel as cheap because otherwise, I think that they would have aced it for the most part.
I used to own the Ascii FT pad on my Dreamcast,. It was the GREATEST fight pad I ever used, so to see this new pad was great surprise. This will be a purchase.
I owned to DC acsii pqads and both of mine broke. They were not made very well at all. Looking forward to the retro fighters pad. My PlayStation retro fighters is my current favorite new controller for old consoles.
It's still the old Diamond Arrangement Button Layout like all controllers, they just added the 2 extra "face buttons" C and Z that are just the Analog Shoulder Buttons, they did not arrange A,B,X and Y in a Genesis / Saturn Style controller button Lay Out so it won't work for Beatem Ups and Run 'n'n Gun Games that use 3 or 4 buttons so you can't easily use it with NEO GEO Games running on a NEO GEO Emulator or on a NEO GEO game that was ported over to run on the Dreamcast Operating System.
1:32 no hate, whichever way you wanna play. Like I say, I play all sorts of different ways.. Bro, perhaps one of the most beautiful rap I heard someone spit out like it was nothing. The lyrical genius is insane.
My only problem with retro fighters controllers are the d pads, while they look really good they gotta put a lot more work on those damn d pads. I'll wait to see if they've learned anything.
The Dreamcast was such a gem for a fighting game fan like myself. Not all were great, but there were more wonderful fighting games on the system than anywhere else, and near arcade perfect ones, too. First time I could play SFIII without going to Cedar Point, which was a hike for me. So many good ones, so this controller is wonderful. It does make me realize that I wish that there were more Dreamcast games more easily available on contemporary consoles (as opposed to emulation) than it is, but we're getting there. Heck, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a nice sendup to it almost in and of itself!
I got myself the xbox version to use it with the brook converters and to have four shoulder buttons. I'm not a fan of all their products, but the sega pads are the best.
Looks dope, but if it has input lag like the PS3 controller I got from RetroFighters it will be bad 😢 The PS3 controller I got from them has the best hand feel of any PS controller I’ve ever used. Sadly it’s not really usable due to lag.
That looks cool. I've had the Saturn 8bitdo M30 BT on my list for awhile, might have to get one of these for 4p that way I've got a good mixture of options.
This is exactly the kind of controller I'm looking for! Just like a Microsoft Sidewinder with the equivalent amount of keys. Great for Marvel fighting games
I was always surprised Sega chose to give the Dreamcast the SNES face buttons when they had the six-button layout figured out. Maybe it was Microsoft's influence? Even more surprising was how Nintendo gave the GameCube a 3-button Mega Drive/Genesis face button layout, with the X button taking the place of the Start/Pause button.
i do play my Dreamcast with a Retro fighters controller it is great when i want to play og hardware but most of the time i play on my emu pc just cause i can upscale no probs plus use REshade cause it is so customizable make it look the way i want it. Dreamcast still one of my fav console's for sure
One thing I wish 6-button controller did was to have the extra buttons to put the buttons to the left of the normal ones, not to the right. This layout is great for fighting games - which the vast majority allow you to freely configure the buttons so it doesn't really matter - but sucks a lot for any other game one might want to use this controller for like 2d platformers, 2d shooters, puzzle games, most of which do NOT have a means to freely configure buttons
Advice needed for storing wireless controllers. How do you collectors or avid gamers store your wireless controllers. I have alot of controllers for all types of systems and feel I have to charge them up every 4-6 months (more for the controllers that discharge themselves when not in use). If anything its a burden and pain. Maybe im being too protective of the batteries. What are your thoughts on how much then need to be charged. My complete in box unopened controllers must have dead batteries so do I open them or let the battery die?
The vmu on a dreamcast controller is a distinctive and important part of the dreamcast experience, it's a shame it's separate from the controller like the previous design....
Had all my dreamcast and PS games in cd binder. Someone broke into my parents' house, and the binder disappeared. I was heartbroken. Never was able to replace all those games.
It allows the dpad to act as an analog, BUT yes I wouldnt want to use this for most games... But this for Fighting games... Hells yes... The DC had some amazing arcade ports
I would love a switch review for this controller, primarily with fighting games and capcom arcade. I see the plus and minus, but do they work? That is the biggest issue I have with these controllers. A lot of 6 button controllers don't have them so it makes it difficult to play without a second controller or you just miss out on some functionality.
I miss the dreamcast so much! Mine isn’t working and I have to try to learn to fix it so I can play it again. Wonder if a modded Wii can play dreamcast?
need R1 and R2 to link jabs into heavy attack combos. using the left trigger is not comfortable for most. the 6 button face layout is not ideal unless you dont plan on doing combos or if you use claw style. that's why the PS controller has always been superior for fighting games
That controller might be good to have if you like the game Dino Crisis also of course for fighting games. Dino Crisis used the D-pad to move your character and the D-pad on the Sega Dreamcast controller isn't the best to use it's very temperamental.
Looks cool, but I'd never buy one. I got one of their GameCube controllers, and not only did it launch like a year late, does it feels incredibly cheap (and not have a click at the bottom of the triggers, despite some statements they made prior to launch). It did at least work rine, at first, but after I took a couple weeks off from the games I'd been playing with it and came back, it wouldn't sync to the dongle anymore. Apparently they knew it was a bad product, because I emailed them and asked if they could help me figure out what was wrong and they sent me a replacement right away, even though I didn't buy it from them and they didn't ask for any proof of purchase.
Only thing I don't like about Retro Fighters is they part and parcel out controllers. If they just made their standard dreamcast controller with hall effect sticks, and made it have 6 buttons and Saturn style d pad, that'd be all any one would need. But instead they purposely make the standard controller less than, so that there would be a market for this. Months ago when they released the wireless dreamcast Controller, I messaged them asking them to do what I thought would be best, and they told me they were working on this, but it was such a disappointment. I asked if they'd ever consider just making an "ultimate controller" and they said no -_- edit: micro switches mean these will all fail in 5 years as the Neo Geo controller, Mad Cats fighting pads, and Hori fighting pads all proved. They started out like an awesome company for high quality fighting game controllers, and now they are just Retrobit 2.0
Its too bad its a Saturn Dreamcast pad. Its dope dont get me wrong ill probably get one down the road for Shmups but man...i wish it had an analogue stick. Its really hard to find a gamepad with an analogue stick and 6 face buttons. Its always 4 face buttons. This thing would make an amazing n64 alternative if it had an analogue stick. Otherwise looks super dope.
Maybe it's just me, but the 6 button setup only makes sense on actual tabletop arcade controllers with sticks. Even in fighting games, I wouldn't want to use my thumb for all 6 buttons. On an arcade controller it makes sense because you can use all 5 fingers to quickly press buttons, which is impossible with a controller that's held in your hands.
It's amazing that the Saturn failed besides having reliable hardware and one of the best controllers ever made still being copied n knocked off 30 years later
For years and years and years I've been using an adapter that lets me hook up my Saturn controller to the dreamcast. I got it like 15 years ago. It's like triple digits now to buy it. Sega definitely needs to do a Dreamcast mini considering it's 25th anniversary is today.
Absolutely! I would love a Dreamcast Mini! The Dreamcast actually has a surprising amount of good games!
They can’t right? They said they couldn’t… man tho would love one
I have my own. It's a 100 dollar PC running Batocera in my living room. It's beautiful.
@@JS2123-m9xI thought they said they could but the price was the issue. It just would have cost too much.
They are busy partnering with companies that make inferior products to celebrate their 25yr anniversary instead of firing their lazy staff who could of damn well made a portable Dreamcast by now.

Is get this 💯
soon to be in the next capcom fighting collection next year
I'm gonna say either the Neo Geo or Saturn have the best fighters. Dreamcast is definitely up there, though.👍
Looks cool, i have 2 wireless Retro Fighters Striker DC pads. Overall pretty decent controllers but the d-pads are horrible for fighting games on those. So i usually just use a Brook Wingman adapter with a wireless Retro-Bit/SEGA Saturn controller.

I always used a Saturn controller on my Dreamcast for fighting games through a converter.
Same
lol yeah retrofighters didnt reinvent the wheel or anything, just padding their product line.
Huh I had no idea, goddamn. Any recommendations? X
@@olldomu5790 blueretro
How is that even possible wtf!
Finally have a GDEMU on the way, this will be great.
I've got an arcade stick, but this is a cool option, even for non-fighting games, thanks!
Looks cool, I too would like a clear blue option, but whatever. Meanwhile Retro Bit has been telling us to look forward to news on their DC controller for like 5 or 6 years and still crickets from them.

get a blueretro and use a xbox controller. thats what i do
I dig this. It's basically a Dreamcast-themed, Sega Saturn pad.
I have the total control 3 adapter. So I can use the Sega saturn controller. :)
I want a duel stick Dreamcast controller 🌀💙
That ASCII pad was badass. Used to love playing Virtua Tennis with it
Considering most New Dreamcast games are 2D this is a great move
I used to own the Ascii FT pad on my Dreamcast,. It was the GREATEST fight pad I ever used, so to see this new pad was great surprise. This will be a purchase.

Just in time for the Capcom and Marvel collections coming out on Switch soon! 🍻🔥. Powerstone!

Looks great for fighters, been wanting six buttons for a long time
My only problem with retro fighters controllers are the d pads, while they look really good they gotta put a lot more work on those damn d pads. I'll wait to see if they've learned anything.
Agreed. the DPAD has been questionable with the Brawler64 & the Defender.
The Blade GC D-pad was alright though.
NGL I could definitely ball in Daytona 2001 with this thing

Aye bro I love your channel you really do great work. Appreciate you!
I received a Dreamcast on my 13th birthday. That was one of my most memorable birthdays, I stayed up all night playing Sonic Adventure.
Wonder how this will compare to 8bitdo M30 6 button Sega pad? 🍻
Is it wireless?
@ the retro fighters one I noted is yeah, do not recommend it at all sadly.
That looks cool. I've had the Saturn 8bitdo M30 BT on my list for awhile, might have to get one of these for 4p that way I've got a good mixture of options.
This looks almost the same as the ps2 street fighter anniversary fighting controller.
Reminds me of these UNO Fighting Pads I got ages ago, like an Ascii Pad knock-off, they work great though.
This is exactly the kind of controller I'm looking for! Just like a Microsoft Sidewinder with the equivalent amount of keys. Great for Marvel fighting games
I like retrofighters! Always had good luck with them. 8bitdo I seem to have bluetooth connection problems a lot.
I’m gonna have to get one or two of these. These look so nice. I agree on the clear ones.
Oh, man...I can't wait to get my hands on these!

It has a slick design :)

Sega Saturn D-pad. Nice.
I already have 4 Ascii fight pads. I'll wait for a review.

That's so close to what I need in a dreamcast controller. Almost
Looks a better version of the 8bitdo M30.
I can see where dual analogs can go and the vmu unit can fit
That looks pretty sweet man
This is nice, but I wonder which will come out first... Retrobit's 3d Saturn style controller for Dreamcast, or GTA6?
The vmu on a dreamcast controller is a distinctive and important part of the dreamcast experience, it's a shame it's separate from the controller like the previous design....
I really want a 8bitdo DIY PCB replacement board for my Red DC Controller
Looks beautiful, but I'm apprehensive.
Retro Fighters has a TERRIBLE track record with D-pads. And this thing is 100% reliant on a D-pad.
all button is big, saturn have 3 small up the top for megaman trick i don't play the game but it helps

They need to make more of their Retro Fighters XBOX Classic Controllers....
been needing a updated dreamcast controler i can use for dream cast emulation
Is the engineer at Retro Fighters a basketball player? All their controllers are chonk as heck.
I hope they will offer it in clear red.
That controller might be good to have if you like the game Dino Crisis also of course for fighting games. Dino Crisis used the D-pad to move your character and the D-pad on the Sega Dreamcast controller isn't the best to use it's very temperamental.
are the z and c buttons l and r or a+b and x+y??
anyways looks great, like an official dreamcast product.
Good god, I learnt about this today and the pre-order is out of stock :s
I bought Dreamcast, PS1, and Xbox new all on the same day.
Looks cool, but I'd never buy one. I got one of their GameCube controllers, and not only did it launch like a year late, does it feels incredibly cheap (and not have a click at the bottom of the triggers, despite some statements they made prior to launch). I bought an 8bitdo like this style years ago.
Didn't 8bitdo do a dreamcast controller with a 6 button layout like two years ago? Thought they did a pro version last year.
i dont want zero analog i want 2 Analogs!!! But btw it looks nice for fighting and 2D games.
I was so excited when I saw this, and then I saw it was retro fighters...
Wait. Are their products terrible?

Still the best console to play Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica .
So how is this different from the Sega Saturn controller?
this would be PERFECT for the upcoming mvc fighter collection. Just wished they had ps5 compatibility :(
Just get an adapter
I use adapters to use old controllers on PS4 for fighting games
Playing typing of the dead on the pc has more sense than the dreamcast. Ive been playing it for decades even now.
Can you plug it in and play wired if the battery goes flat
If it only had a joystick with or instead. I’m horrible playing fighting games with d-pad (unless is Tekken or DOA). So it’s a pass for me.
You play fighting games with the analog stick? Gross.
@@jeffro9252you’re part of the FGC? Gross
Shouldn't it be using a cross type d-pad if it was designed for fighting games? 🤔
I love how these companies come out with the "latest & greatest" and then its sold out for 2 years smh.
I think I'll buy it!
very interested
Aaaaa I'm still trying to climb out of loan hell, I can't deal with a Dreamcast explosion right now I waaaaant it AHHHHH
Sold out
Is it still not out ?
It really should've had a 6 button controller.
Cool but i wrather use my retro fighters defender controller 🎮 an play dream cast on my emulator
It's amazing that the Saturn failed besides having reliable hardware and one of the best controllers ever made still being copied n knocked off 30 years later
Retrobit never released their Dreamcast controllers
yeah doesnt mention a receiver how to hell do we connect to pc. should have been bluetooth imo
For years and years and years I've been using an adapter that lets me hook up my Saturn controller to the dreamcast. I got it like 15 years ago. It's like triple digits now to buy it. But it's the only way I can play fighting games on the Dreamcast cuz the Dreamcast controller is the worst controller ever created by the hand of man. So this new thing here will be a perfect replacement!!
The best platform in the world is Dreamcast, we miss Dreamcast 2
Surely that is the original x box.
D pad looks bad.
I find that there's a lack of good fightpads. Razer sucks, hori makes disposable controllers and the octa is a severe miscalculation. It's almost as if current fightpad manufacturers forgot how to make a good fighting game controller with a pivoting dpad.
i think the dreamcast really need a memory card you can plug to a pc.
