I just got home from an Alien: Romulus screening in IMAX. It's the best one since Aliens. My legs started shaking during the movie. Omg that third act was really a WTF moment.
Honestly the last act traumatized me just as bad as the original chest buster scene (in the 1st film) did when I was a child. Looking back (from that angle) it is the original alien updated for today's "kids". A perfect sequel with its own legs to stand next to Aliens the original sequel.
Thank you for the review! My Dad loves this franchise so he will be glad to hear that it sounds literally like an “out of this world” experience. 😮He is looking forward to seeing it tomorrow in Dolby. I am like Dustin so, I myself will not be seeing it! 😅
Despite its paying homage a bit too much, Romulus still delivers overall in both setting and mood and action. Worth the price of admission. A sequel needs all-new story with the return of the space Marines and Predators in an all-out war in a space opera. That way you can create horror aspects as well as insane action sequences. Give audiences what they've wanted for decades. Script is King, and that'll get this franchise the vaunted billion dollar club.
Thank you both for the reveal! As an Alien fan I really want to watch the movie even more now since something fucked up will happen in the third act! I will watch the movie this coming weekend.
The most terrifying species in the universe - unless you turn the room temperature up or point a gun at it lmao. I loved the ending it was amazing for sure, I had my hands up to my mouth ever since I saw how the rat ended up and was like.....omg ok she is not a rat what is going to happen?
Just came back from the movie, the premiere has just ended where I live. I had fun, quite a good movie. I must say that the third act made my fear of (not saying what because spoilers) skyrocket. I heard rumors that this act was wild but I was not expecting THAT.
I just got back from the theaters; When i saw those Facehuggers running and crawling, i almost started screaming like a lil girl! 😅😱⚰️🪦 The last act that F'd you up, got me F'd up! 😱😱😱 I wasn't expecting that to happen and i loved the entire movie. ❤ I couldn't get enough of the Facehuggers 🕷🕷🕷
We have seen some really fucked up stuff in previous Alen movies. The Newborn in Resurrection, C-section in Prometheus, pregnant women vs Predalien in AvPR, I wonder how they managed to top those.
@TheMovieCouple I’m going to see this tomorrow with my dad and I can’t wait, so much so that I’m watching the entire franchise for the first time past Aliens so I can get a fuller experience with the film.
I just watched it it was really good. I wish it was a bit slower tbh it felt a little too fast paced. Still very good. I might change my mind on a rewatch and say it was perfect who knows
I’m so glad they went back to the practical effects. Makes the aliens more believable. I’m happy they gave the face huggers more screen time I can’t wait. I’m going to see it this afternoon….
Eh.. to be honest I expected some fcked up stuff. I mean I already know / saw that EviI Dead remake. Fede Alvarez is no stranger to HORROR stuff so I already expected something nasty in Alien Romulus too 😄
I personally didnt like it. I found myself trying to force myself to like it. They borrowed and copied so much from the other movies that it ruined it for me

I’ve got tickets for 2 imax showings tomorrow, one with my wife and one with my son.
@@quagmire1130 I thought it was horrible
@@robertwilson9528 I personally liked it BUT I can see how it’s not for everybody
Not for me if you know the franchise you know stuff like this has happened before 😂
My cats a face hugger when I sleep
Mine too! Only a cat person would understand! ❤🐱

Great stuff movie couple! Love you guys. Really looking forward to this one.
It sounds like they tied in Covenant. It ended on a cliffhanger. I need closure. I'm stooooked.
Seeing it in 4DX on Thursday
Ohh 4DX for this movie is gonna be crazy

@TheMovieCouple I keep hearing the 3rd act is insane and twisted and I can’t wait as that’s what I honestly want from an Alien film myself

Absolutely loved it. 9/10 from me. ALIENS is still my favorite overall in this series, but this was a great in between sequel

Wild and shocking more like dumb and dumber
Didn't like it. The last half was terrible

Movie was very overrated. 5 out of 10 for me
