Thanks for practically differentiating both “okwa ose and ose oji” to us.Learning so much from you. I’m absolutely craving for this right away. Homemade is simply the best.
Chaaii, see how creamy it looks. I so much love ittt, I normally scoop so much Okwo oso for 1 garden egg , you'll hear my mum shouting ** Why not empty the container* 🤣. It came out so well Sis, I'm salivating already 😋
I am an Igbo learner. I was looking for the english name of alligator pepper. They gave the plant to me, when I was visiting our family friends. Very interesting! There are so many plants that are not commonly known in Europe! So ehuru is calabash nutmeg in english, wow! So interesting!
My husband has been requesting for this thing. He usually buys from those that sells garden eggs. Now, I can make for him and my 2 year old that likes it too
I miss this grinding engine ooo chai up 9ja any food wey u use this machine grind can sweet biko DHL my own oooo ,I just can't stop loving this video it reminds me alot of pass memories
This looks delicious, my kids like peanut butter alot, I am going to show them this video, for them to see how is made in the local way. Thanks beautiful sister FLO for sharing with us.
Wow I didn’t know it’s this simple to prepare, I use to buy a lot in port harcourt back then and use it for garden eggs😋😋 Kai I really miss eating it oh. Auntie Flo I didn’t see you add any form of water to it and also can I use my normal blender for it since we don’t have this tradition machine here?
This is really needed for this period of Xmas, where people visits, this is superb with the garden egg which our people calls anara. You did a great job, wow.. Look at that grinding machine, This machine can be a source of income for a family of five or more, I remember so many things with this video. Merry Xmas.
Well Done, Flo and thank you for always mesmerizing us with your captivating recipes. So tell me pls, alligator pepper is never being added to the spicy peanut butter? We have been deceived all along (lol). We were meant to understand that the main spicey ingredient in the peanut butter is the alligator pepper. Now I know where the confusion emanated from! ....And yes, talking about other uses of the spicy peanut butter here where I am we also use peanut butter to make (stand-alone) Soups, as groundnut soups. or vegetable soups such as Moringa (Zogale), surreal (Yakuwa) or jute (Ramá).
Thank you very much for this video. Please can you show me the type of groudnut used. We have different types here.also a video on how to fry and prepare the gnut. Thank you
😂😂😂 We don't use grinding stone in Igboland o, not even in the olden days, never. We are a mortar and pestle tribe. In the 80s up to recently, we used the manual grinders for this. But these days, these machines give a smoother consistency, we no longer use the manual grinders not to talk of mortar and pestle.
So funny how I was trying to find some pictures about Igbo tradition, this picture of you and your husband came out came out and I laughed and said Sis. Flo

But me with the preggy cravings hmmmmm I may travel in April during my vacation. We'll see I'll let you know if I make it. In the meantime daalu

Alligator pepper is used to eat kolanut during traditional occasions especially by the elders. Can be enjoyed at home with family for lovers of kolanut. It's mot popular like okwo ose.
Nothing in the recipe is optional. Without the ehu it won't have the classic taste and aroma. Without the pepper it won't have the bite. Without the peanut, you know the answer to that one. lol
Aunty bring back some for me ooo with alligator pepper....chai if you see pepper fruit too bring back too. Chai I miss naija. Anyways my brother traveled i gave him list to bring back alot of things even udara and akpu lol......pregnancy cravings again currently 2 months preggy pls don't laugh it just kinda happened lol....
I miss eating Okwo Ose. Do you know if I can use my food processor to make it in the USA? Thanks for sharing Flo. I learned something new today. Never new I could add okwo ose to my smoothie. Sounds like a great idea.
None. Peanuts/groundnuts already contain too much oil. Once the machine grinds it well, it will turn to a smooth paste. The more times it passed through the engine, the more liquid it becomes.
Lol...I'm here as usual. Aunty flo idi too much, make ah marry first, I'll definitely wound my husband with sweet delicacies i learnt from Aunty flo😄😄.

It's such a great combo
in my country we eat it with bananas, cassava, bread spreads, as a snack. The we use it to paste stews
Also learnt new vocabulary today ooo. Thanks sis
In Suriname (south america )we use it for peanut soup.

interesting i did not know you could eat garden eggs raw today i learnt something new thanks the peanut butter looks delicious
The species of garden eggs grown in Nigeria are all eaten raw. For all other countries, not sure.
Okwu oji na eggplant na ato pieces, but can be used for bread, pap, I do add it to my baby pap.
Nice program
Have you? Have you??? How I've missed that😂🤣😂

Thanks
Love it pls spicy names ?
Love it Flo👍🏾, so what is the alligator pepper used for then? I didn’t see the recipe in the description box oh☺️
Alligator pepper is used to eat kolanut during traditional occasions especially by the elders. Can be enjoyed at home with family for lovers of kolanut. It's mot popular like okwo ose.
Cool
Thanks for transporting me to my childhood. Did you cook the garden egg?
No. Eaten raw. Sweater that way. It's a diff specie of garden egg though.
I love you Flo!
Finally!!!! Haha. Thank you flo. Can the ehu be optional if you can't find it where you are??
Nothing in the recipe is optional. Without the ehu it won't have the classic taste and aroma. Without the pepper it won't have the bite. Without the peanut, you know the answer to that one. lol
Can we add pepper to the peanut butter we buy from the grocery store. And call is okwa osei.
🤣🤣🤣. I have been doing that.
Yea , the 100% peanut butter without sugar, add grind pepper 🌶and Ehuru and you have it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This video just brought back some childhood memories. I grew up around Igbo people, I used to eat this with garden eggs.
I wonder which blender will work for this since we don't have this here?
Look yummy as always 😋 😍

It adds an exciting flavour to smoothies because of the pepper and ehu.
How did it became runny, did you add some water when blending it?
I love this
Why do some add maggi?
Oh, you need to sell this!!!
Also aunty if you see agidi jellof biko buy too. And ona.......I will eat it with ugba and onions
Ihe a niine na agucha gi. 😂😂😂
@@FloChinyere lol its the baby in my tummy that wants it not me lol....😆😆😆😆😆😆
Can blender be used for small quantity?
Yes ooooo
I still call it ose oji, it’s what I grew up calling it
Pls what type of nutmeg was used to grind the peanuts and pepper?
Biko eh, for those of us nolu ebe telu nnukwu aka, can we just get peanut butter and whip it with grinded ose and ehu?
Yes, you can because abroad we manage everything. Roasted groundnuts in Nigeria are left to brown for longer so it gives it a richer taste.
Someone should pls send freshly baked bread to me ooo. I need to download the okwa ose with it.
Can one use blender for this
Yummmmmm
Can I blend it with my blender
I know the alligator pepper is ose oji but I thought the okwo ose/ose oji name for the spicy peanut butter was a dialect thing. We learn everyday.
The name in Imo/Abia dialect is okwu oji. Ose Oji is a completely different thing.
@@FloChinyere I've learnt something new today.
❤
I have not seen the equivalent measurement of the groundnut, plus I scanned through all the comments. Can you tell me where or its equivalent?
Did she add water or oil while blending it?
None. Peanuts/groundnuts already contain too much oil. Once the machine grinds it well, it will turn to a smooth paste. The more times it passed through the engine, the more liquid it becomes.
