- Let's get all Dazzled up this holiday... even if we're just staying home!! :)
Join me, Orly Shani, from the Hallmark series Home & Family as I embellish these tulle skirts and turn them into absolute statement pieces!!
FYI : Photo of the BLACK on is in the Community tab!!
I did not get a chance to model the black one. I made it for a segment on Home & Family and I gave it to someone before I got a chance to shoot it :(
I considered removing the DIY from the video altogether but then I thought you might want to see THAT technique.. so I included it.
TIPS: Some great tips I've received are to use Freezer paper or a silicone pad so you dont need to peel it before it dries!

Pretty disappointing not being able to see the black one, that was the one I was most excited about seeing

@@luckyoct1013 Thank you ❤️
love them all but would like to have seen the black one being modelled. Also love the trousers you are wearing. x
I know!! Gosh I'm sorry. Wasn't planning on putting it in the video because I didn't get a chance to shoot it but last minute I figured I might as well.... in case you wanted that technique
She sewed very similar trousers on this channel a while ago. If I was as talented (and as hardworking) as she was, I would have found a very similar printed fabric and sewn one myself
Orly, the skirts are so beautiful!!! I love every one! 🌷
OOO IVE DONE THIS BEFORE !!! TO "CHEAT" I USED WAX PAPER TO LAY IT OUT ON AND IT WONT STICK !! I ALSO MIXED MY GLITTER WITH MOD PODGE AND DID IT ALL IN ONE STEP IT SEALED IT AND IT WAS SPARKLY !!
Was thinking same, or a sheet of plastic.
@@sistahcool3533 YES MA'AM !!
SOOO SMART! was the glitter as saturated when it was mixed in?
@@TheDIYDesigner IT SURE WAS AND STILL WAS VERY SPARKLY , JUST MIX HOW EVER MUCH GLITTER YOU WANT FROM LIGHT , MED , TO SUPER GLITTERY AND MIX IT WITH THE MOD PODGE AND BAM THERE YA GO LOLOL
how much glitter did you end up using? the bottle in the vid looks huge
I really love them all. Kinda Sad that we couldn't see the black one because it seemed so colorful and fun. Anyways it looks awesome as always. 😸
I am disappointed as well at not seeing the finished black one as that was the one I was really interested in making; perhaps the person she gave it to can submit pics and they could be added at the end of the video.
same. gues she didnt like the outcome that much
@@WholeLottaLau no she said she gave it to someone at work who loved it. I'm kinda disappointed I couldn't see how it looked on too.
@@kmom1441 that could be cool i guess. I would really like to see how it turned out. Anyways i'm sure the person she gave it to is really happy with it.
I know!! Gosh I'm sorry. Wasn't planning on putting it in the video because I didn't get a chance to shoot it before I gave it away.
But last minute I figured I might as well add the DIY portion in at least.... in case you wanted to do that technique yourselves
They look like perfect outfits for spring wedding guest too!
Noooo!! I really want to see the black one! Can we get an update in a next video of your coworker wearing it🙏🏻? Even just a picture would do! The other skirts turned out so cute🌟
I know!! Gosh I'm sorry. Wasn't planning on putting it in the video because I didn't get a chance to shoot it but last minute I figured I might as well.... in case you wanted that technique
Ill see if I can get a pic!
@@TheDIYDesigner We are so greedy for your DIYS and creativity :D! But don’t feel bad if you can’t get a picture :) happy holidays🎄 I bet your outfits are going to be so beautiful👌🏻
I really hope my comment did not make you feel bad!!! Please do not feel bad!
I like to think about what your neighbors think when they see you modeling on the street, lol! You always look so amazing and happy!
I was waiting for the black one.
I know!! Gosh I'm sorry. Wasn't planning on putting it in the video because I didn't get a chance to shoot it before I gave it away.

Your dog was a beauty! After a month or two, I recommend getting a rescue dog. You’ll feel good for giving a much needed home and you’ll be given crazy love!
I love that you styled one with a very shimmer top and the other with a basic top. It shows that it can be worn as day wear as well.
exactly!!!
I'm so sorry for the loss of your family member. (Yes they're family.) These skirts are amazing! So beautiful. BTW, I think your coworker should model the skirt you gifted her.
Sweet orly💛 I didn't expect you to post this week. Your time is precious and I admire your dedication to work. Thank you for you time.
Thank you so much!!
Wish there was a picture of the black one thanks for sharing
I know!! Gosh I'm sorry. Wasn't planning on putting it in the video because I didn't get a chance to shoot it before I gave it awat.

Orly is the Jackson Pollock of DIY fashion! Love it! Good to see you feeling better.
OMG!!!
I. LOVE. IT!!!
Wish I'd seen the black one. I love everything BLING! My sister makes fun of me hehee!
"You an your bling"! She says. L🤣L!!!
haha thank you!
I would have loved to have this skirt when I was a kid! It is like the bottom of Liesle's (sp?) from the Sound of Music!!!!! The twirl! It is all about the twirl!
Love!!! Now I want to add glitter to every skirt I own haha.
Amazing!!! The holidays and sparkles just mix. I can only imagine seeing glitter until next year around the house. Glitter is a biatch to clean up. I would've love to see the black one though but it must've been magical.
Also condolances on your angel. No matter how many times it happens, it never gets easier. Sending love ❤

Good morning Orly, I hope you're feeling better this week. You've been in my prayers, as I have experienced something similar. I believe that time and spending time with loved ones helps get through tough moments. On a happier note, thank you so much for the creative and festive video! Excellent ideas. As always, looking forward to the next one.
The black one must’ve been phenomenal!

That sealer tip was absolutely necessary. Great tip I would not have thought about, thank you so much. Beautiful DIY.

They were all pretty , my favorite the appliques😍👍
Love this idea!!!!! I bought slippers for the upcycle with trim, I bought your recommendation for tie dye and now I need a skirt! I have so many fun projects to try thanks to you! You are a light and joy. Be extra gentle to yourself right now.

Thank you for this channel. It was a light in 2020.

Ok haven't even watched the video yet and I'm in love with the pink! Gives me a modern fancy version of the last dress in Dirty Dancing!! Orly, girl I know you know what I'm talking about! NOBODY PUTS BABY IN A CORNER!

Started watching Home and Family again. I always save them on my DVR for when I'm working on projects. The new kitchen looks so good! Everything else was already made over but I couldn't watch for a while but thanks to Covid I've had more time at home. Haven't seen Paige on there in a while? I still miss Mark and the I miss smarty pants Dan too! Thank god we still have you and Ken!! The DIY department needs a spin off!

thanks for watching!
Yay!!!
Love the splattered one!! ❤❤
Beautiful!
I love your fashion! Thanks for sharing with us!
I hope it's okay for this glitter girl to share with you.
Use parchment or wax paper to keep the tulle from sticking to the surface.
Hairspray also keeps loose glitter in place. Not as good as Modpodge, but a lot easier apply if you're in a hurry. That standard cheap Aquanett is perfect.
Your videos keep me looking forward to Fridays! Thanks for sharing your talents and for posting consistently ❤
Cool tip from an art teacher (me): Collect all the glitter you shake off and don't worry about it mixing. I learned a few years ago that mixed colors of glitter look amazing on projects. Different colors catch the light as your project moves, creating a gorgeous effect. Try it!
Thanks for sharing!!
Loveeddd the glitter splodged one, kinda took the girliness down a notch and made it more edgy, lovelove!! I don't mind at all that you left the black one out, life gets lifey and you already show us so much inspo! Hope your coworker loves it x
I'm sooooo doing the splatter one but rose gold on black. I LOVE your inspo!!!
They are soooo beautiful! Can’t wait to try it on my own skirt! Thank you!
Too good as always!!!! You are so creative!!!!!
I absolutely LOVE the pink splatter one. I think I’m gonna make that one for next years Xmas dinner.

Happy Friday it is 💃❤️
i reallyyy wanted to see the finished black one
I know!! Gosh I'm sorry. Wasnt planning on putting it in the video because I didnt get a chance to shoot it but figured I might as well in case you wanted that technique
It reminds me a black tull skirt, that I had in the 80th. It had the same length and was embellished with silber spots. Oh, how much I loved it. Maybe it's time to turn back time and do it again.
Love love love the splatter one....it's so sparkly and subtle at the same time.....how???!!😘😘😘❤️❤️
right!?
These look so gorgeous ❤️
Super cool and so pretty... I'd get dizzy from twirling all night if I ever made it🤭
My favorite was the splatter one. I would've loved to see how the black one turned out.

thankyou!!
Would hve loved to see how the black one turned out, loved that one the most! Great idea as always! Thank you
I just posted a photo on the community tab!
Somehow I missed last week's video so I didn't know about the loss of your beautiful dog. People who are not doggie persons can never understand the extreme grief at losing a pet. It's heartbreaking and you need time to grieve. At the ripe old age of 64, I have gone through this 12 times (We have always 2 or 3 rescue dogs) and it doesn't get any easier. I lost my darling Sapphy 2 years ago during a simple routine op and I still cry for her. I have found that children recover from this quicker than we adults. It's definitely the same as losing a member of the family because our dogs ARE members of the family. My heart goes out to you all. 💞
thank you so much!
These are beautiful!!
It's like you read my mind--I've been thinking for two days I want to make a tulle skirt!! THANK YOU!!!
im so glad!!
@@TheDIYDesigner BTW, I'm new to your channel, but I binged the whole thing over Thanksgiving weekend. Love it! I lived in NoHo until a couple of years ago and spent a lot of time cruising the resale shops on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. That's the thing I miss most about LA!
Amazing DIY! Thank you Orly
Adorable!!
So Fabulous! Love it!
Such smart idea..love it please do more ideas with tulle skirts
Good inspiration ideas
A-ma-zing!!! I fell in love with that skirt. Also how about the black skirt with multi coloured strokes? Am eager to see that too.

I was most excited to see the sprinkles one darn lol but the pinks were lovely
I knoooooow :(
Maybe ask your friend to take a picture of it and post on the next video. 💗
I love your DIYs but my favorite part is the modeling at the end. I love the music and the editing. They always look soooooo good!
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful! 👍The second skirt looks like the star dress of empress Elisabeth ( Bavaria/Austria)
💕love this and also your pants are awesome 😎
As always, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Very pretty, very soft. You can also put mix the glitter with mod podge in a small container directly and then you don’t have to seal it. It would save you a lot of time. The tops you modeled are perfect with the skirts.
do you think they would come out AS saturated? if so, that's an amzing idea!
@@TheDIYDesigner yes, it absolutely comes out as saturated and no flaking of the glitter. Of course, the tulle is very flexible and that flexibility will cause the adhesive to crack to some degree so you will get some flaking. But a beautiful and very feminine skirt. Too bad I have no parties to go to this year!!
