    So I love this DIY, I found a blazer in a thrift shop for like 2 dollars so I'm going to try it, hopefully i find lace to match the color of the blazer. I have to go hunting for Lace, btw I'm in the dominican republic so many crafting things that I could find in NYC (where I lived all my life) I cannot get here, which every curse word in every language comes out LOL. My mom taught me how to sew, I should of paid more attention since I have been transforming clothes since high school and so many things I had to learn myself since she has been gone since 2006. But I love what you do!!!!!

    Thus gave me an idea to do only the bottom (I guess cuffs) of the sleeves, basically with the top and bottom V'ing out in lace to then a full lace cuff. Probably hard to imagine but I think it would be bomb! I think yours turned out great. Almost would've liked to have seen it with the back detail also

    Make a very basic camisole out of the lace (lovely edge at the top) to go underneath! cut a rectangle length of your bust measurement and width of however long you want the cami. Add basic straps and wear it over a black bra for a subtle effect or a nude or colored bra for something more.

  • @lemongrove57
    @lemongrove57 5 років тому +1

    This looks so fun. My only question is, what are the odds of finding that your sleeve template is not symmetrical side to side? Aren't they cut to fit differently in the front vs. back of the armhole? You could just lay it flat without folding in half, I know, but if I was coming in knowing only what I'm seeing here, I could totally imagine myself doing something "creative" to solve that problem, or sewing it back in on the wrong side, and wondering why it looked so funny.

    • @TheDIYDesigner
      @TheDIYDesigner  5 років тому +1

      lemongrove57 some sleeves definitely are but mine was totally even which is why it worked to keep it folded in half. If yours wasn’t even, then you would open the arm seam as well and lay flat just like you said.
