I got one in bronze color for Christmas 2019, used the weekend after. We had horrible rain and wind and this hung from the edge of our tarp and never wavered, burned all night. Fantastic lantern.

Thats the most difficult way to remove globe. Swing the bail up and put your palm on top of it put your index finger in the loop and squeeze, easily compressing the spring with one hand and remove globe with the other. And you wont drop the lamp this way.

Hi if it's stamped W. Germany, this 1933 model is a post war production, when Germany was divided into West and East. Before war it was stamped Germany only.Cheers

@@TheBorderlined Exactly! If it was stamped W Germany that was from between 1949 and 1990.

For outdoor use, diesel is a more impure form of kerosene. If it smokes in the lamp, it'll smell like a truck, though.

@@prepperinthewoods yeah I've been trying to look up info but there isnt much out there on them. Also do you know what kind of paint they used on lanterns? I'm trying to look for something durable and heat resistant and seems like whatever they used is perfect. I've looked at the hammerite line and enamel type. and also powder coating but dont think they had that back in the 20s 30s.
