I run K'rrick and Vilis in the 99 of my Shadowborne Apostle deck. Rakdos the Defiler (the best Rakdos (convince me I'm wrong)) is at the helm. I nearly never use the Sac 6 ability and use them to offset sacrificing my non-Demon permanents. I used to run Shirei, but now use Sifter of Skulls and Nightmare Shepherd to replace Apostles I sacrifice.
K'rrick and Vilis were made for each other in a deck like this. Makes every Apostle a cantrip to draw another Apostle.
What is your decklist
I'd have an arcane Signet over charcoal diamond or darksteel ingot. 2 mana for a black coming in untapped.
Either way though this is coo
Not sure how many apostles you're running, but consider replacing just one of them with Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, unless you somehow only run 6
I still like ashnods alter + gave titan + nim deathmantle. Unlimited colourless mana and unlimited zombies. Also if you have exsanguinate you just win.
Definitely a valid combo and great cards to add. Maybe a little clunky to put together but with the tutor demons it might work! And cards like exsanguinate and torment of hailfire can absolutely be added in for easy wins! 👌
Commander Tactics I’m just putting it in the deck for fun. For the version I’m building I’m not trying to make it “the best version”. I’m trying to build it low powered for my playgroup l. Nice video by the way!
Awesome video helped to give me ideas for my new Krikk deck. However instead of shadow born apostles I'm doing rat tribal with rat colony.
Glad the video helped! Would love to see your rat decklist as well!
I'll put the deck list here when I'm done with my draft version!
How did it go?
@@NoBody-ro3xj I loved this deck is it actually still put together and has a great 6-7 power strength with the right hand it can battle against 8 and 9s but definitely has troubles. I think itd do better with a little bit more draw power just to keep up. But overall one of my favorite decks I've ever built.
@@Hunter-bq6pu here is mine what's your deck link? I like seeing these type of builds and trading ideas

From some of the games that I've seen keeping K'rrik in play is a huge problem. In one game the person played K'rrik on turn 2 with Ancient Tomb and Sol Ring and didn't survive the turn cycle. Paying the 8 life with the early tempo loss was a huge deal. So I think that adding cards like Swiftfoot Boots, Darksteel Plate, and Kaya's Ghostform to protect him is a necessity.
A protection package is something that should could definitely be added! That’s a good call. I like both pairs of boots and maybe a whispersilk cloak to enable K’rriks lifelink. But I definitely went a little more glass cannon with this build, going all in on a 1 turn explosion!
Mask of avacyn as well, expensive to equip but does offer another hexproof.
This is because he is new. As time goes on, he will have less of a target on his back
What happen in the game?
@@NoBody-ro3xj the K'rrik player struggled to maintain a meaningful board presence and couldn't make it back into the game
Wheres the Thrumming Stone?
Depending on the deck there are better options than thrumming stone now
really interesting deck. the only downside is that you need 6 apostles to get one demon. thats some serious card disadvantage
It’s true that trading 6 for 1 is a big downside. But the upside of the demons we summon can swing it back to a +EV. With the big boys like Vilis, we are also able to get those 6 cards back for basically nothing! Definitely a difficult balance though.
If you build a shadowborn deck correctly getting 6 out is a non issue.
@@TheFixer710 exactly.
@@NoBody-ro3xj I run 20 in my build of the K'rrik deck. I actually think thats on the low side but it works. The deck usually pulls a turn 6 to 10 win off but it can win as early as turn 4 with the ideal opener and nutty draws. It really depends on how fast you can get K'rrik out and how fast you can get at least one shadowborn into the graveyard. You have 6 out then go get a demon probably Rune-scarred to grab a secret salvage and boom now you have 14 shadowborn apostles in hand use 6 of them to grab razaketh use one of them to get aetherflux use another to grab yawgmoth will and now you win. I had a fun thing happen the other day someone blew up 6 of my creatures 4 shadowborn k'rrik and blood artist and I had a dictate of erebos and a shinzos caretaker out so each opponent had to sac 6 creatures and I pointed the 6 blood artist triggers at the guy who blew up my field then at the end of the turn the shadowborns and blood artist came back cause of shinzos caretaker.
@@TheFixer710 love it. I should think about blood artist. I run a deck with 28 shadowborn apostles.
Your deck is missing lands.... the whole win con here guys are the lands. Everyone knows Urborg/cabal coffers, but shrine of Nyxthos and my favorite, Crypt of agadeem can get you insaine mana. Tutor these out with vapiric, demonic, grim, or imperial tutors, and your set. Cards like profane command, exsanguinate, damnable pack, death cloud (i could keep going) are otk's. Thrumming stone isn't even mentioned in here, and its a better version of secret salvage (run both). And if you see a blue player, tutor a besiju, tree who shelters all. Now your otk spells are "uncounterable".
(Thats not a word)
Also, cavern of souls. I run 45 shadow born and now they're all immune to blue. If you wanna full deck list, let me know.
Edit: Expedition map, staple.
Can you send it my guy?
Im curious of your list and what power level it is
enjoy the dislike. I could see this being feasable if you literally run every artifact avalable that allows you to gain life through casting a black spell and Deathgreeter. Ayara was introduced long after this video so there's that. Your deck build idea is neat but bad.
His deck isn't feasible or the idea of shadowborn apostles?
@@NoBody-ro3xj it's very possible to run K'rrik as the commander for a Shadowborn aposltes build, you actually end up not going through that much life, the problem is just "card draw, and retaining your board state". so instead of being able to lean on life gain effects (which honestly you can work without) your deck literally has to be "card draw, win con, ramp, shadowborne apostles."
@@MageSkeleton I just wanted to hear what your thoughts were. I actually run a cedh shadowborn deck with k'rrik
