    Extremely solid set of turns. I think you have reached the turning point in the game already with being able to smash Yellow's invasion with the forces at hand without taking too many losses in the process. This insures you don't have to pull forces from the south, which seals Purple's fate.
    I agree with Kris on getting the extra siege slot under Materium. In addition to the extra slot, all siege projects now come at a discount. Not a big deal for cash, but certainly a big deal for mana. You should be able to shred through cities, which is important because you should leave 3 stacks in the south to break the soon to be former Purple cities. You need to finish those off to help your economy and they will get a bunch of defenders fairly quickly. Leave a hero and 3 stacks down there to go deal with them. You can also look to establish some outposts on the more juicy stuff after you have razed the cities.
    I don't know what your upkeep is on the white witches is mana wise, but this game has pretty much passed them by with your other opponent also being a frog, 30% detrimental effects are going to have an extremely hard time going off and the witches just don't do very much damage. It might be a thing to just leave them out and have them either go pillage for cash or decommission some of them to help your mana situation.

      Good thinking. I was planning to leave extra units around in the east to clear out purple's old cities, so maybe letting my white witches do that instead of sending them to the front line against yellow would be preferable. Besides, with the addition of transmuters to my army soon, I have better battle mage units anyway. If I wasn't fighting status-resistant frogs with status-resistant bonuses, I'd probably try to keep using them, but sadly that is not the case. Yellow is basically the perfect counter to my build, lol.

    Great defense 👍
    You can summon elemental early and run it forward to bait a charge from the tyrant knights and generally use to sock damage.
    The quest is to annex the tile with haste berries with 14 turns still. You can get population by razing the city you are Sieging and complete the quest.
    Also like you said the ritual of alacrity.

    • @BlackArrowGaming
      @BlackArrowGaming  Рік тому

      Good idea! Although I would generally prefer to have the elemental around and fighting for a few turns (as tyrant knight charges would quickly kill them), there may be some cases where that could be useful. And yes, I haven't forgotten about the haste berries quest - just gotta split off an extra army to deal with that once purple is out of the picture :)

    I'm happy to have caught up on this series so that I can finally comment! Watching this series has taught me a bunch about the game, and it's been incredibly entertaining too. I've really been enjoying it.
    You're just one turn away from the imperium spell that completely removes fog of war, and the timing on that is incredible since you'll just have yellow left to deal with and you don't really have good info on them at all yet.
    Braham just got level 16, so he's got the last of his signature slots available for you to choose an upgrade option now.
    For your building projects in Frost Citadel, do you think it might be worthwhile to knock out a couple of the buildings that only take a turn or two so you can get the economic benefits while waiting the 10+ turns for the hero building to finish?
    Thanks again for doing this series!

      Glad to see you've been able to catch up! (I totally get it - my videos tend to be pretty long, lol.) Even better to see that you've been enjoying the videos!
      I appreciate the feedback! Just to clarify, the "Spying Shadows" empire upgrade that you're referring too just reveals the world map. It doesn't lift the fog of war, but it does still provide the capital with infinite sensing range allowing me to see where enemy troop are (and even how many there are). It just doesn't show me what types of units they are. That being said, it will still be incredibly useful. There's a couple others I need first - definitely a nature upgrade to provide more mana and possibly the extra siege slot for materium. But that's ok because even though I don't know where all of yellow's stuff is right now, I do at least have targets in the northwest to throw some armies at. I might pick up spying shadows later if I have trouble finding their capital (which I suspect might be underground or in a very obscure corner of the map).
      Good catch on Braham's signature skill upgrade, I will be sure to grab that!
      As for my capital, I'm honestly probably gonna blow a bunch of gold on hurrying production of that hero building, so it won't actually take quite that long to complete :)

    That wonder to your west, the "Shrieker's Tomb" is the type that give you +2 mana and knowledge for each hero in your crypt. If you could get that it would solve all your mana troubles and give you a bunch of extra research. The city it belong to (Seat-Above-All) only have 55 siege defense, so you should be able to take it relative quickly.
    Edit: I just spottet another of those wonders (Lost Queen's Crypt) west of the spell jammer you just broke! You can probably send an army to take it right away since it seems like it is not taken by the AI yet.

    Incredible work putting the hurt on yellow! It also must feel good to finally have purple up against the wall. I'm thinking that hidden stack to the west of your scout could be more yellow too. I believe they originated in the southwest then migrated north In the beginning of the game. I'd be wary of a southern sneak attack if I were you. It might also be a good idea to just start clearing some of those stacks of random neutral units when you can. The more map control you have the more you can steamroll economy.

    • @BlackArrowGaming
      @BlackArrowGaming  Рік тому +1

      This is something I was wondering about myself and might pose as an open question to everyone...what has yellow been doing all game? Like you said, they started in the south but kinda melted away on their own (being replaced by independents which purple then started to gobble up). Then they go AWOL for like twenty turns, and then from out nowhere they show up in the northeast and start throwing stacks of T4's at me. I'm pretty sure they must have underground connections and cities, but it still seems bizarre. I don't normally see AI "move around" so much.

    Brahm still has a feature to pick from his leveling,
    would it be good to place the spare armies on their roads to limit the movement of purple?
    Lovely job vs yellow.

      Good catch on Braham's missed upgrade, I'll make a note to grab that! As for purple, I was thinking the same thing, although my plan was to make more of a wall and force them to go around it. The trick is to not spread out so much that they can avoid fighting at least two of my heroes at once. I'll have to see what I can come up with.

    • @BlackArrowGaming
      @BlackArrowGaming  Рік тому +1

      Pretty sure I set the map size to medium for this one. It's a land map with the "arctic blizzards" feature active (no other map modifiers). I played against three enemy "Brutal" AI, all on a team against me. I'm also following a lot of self-imposed rules for role-playing purposes. Those are all detailed in the description :)
      If you want more info on the game setup, the first episode into this series goes into more detail!

    Precision training also increases precision of mages, so are good for your Ice witches and any Transmuters you make.

    • @BlackArrowGaming
      @BlackArrowGaming  Рік тому

      I was wondering about this. Since another viewer suggested cycling ice witches out of my army fighting yellow, I think pairing a bunch of them with that archer hero and using them (along with a couple other stacks of T3's) to clear out purple's old cities might be a good idea.

  • @Kris_Lighthawk
    @Kris_Lighthawk Рік тому +1

    As for investing your imperium, I think that the extra sige slot you can get in the materium tree is a very good investment, very long siges have been a major problem for you and, a extra sige slot should be able to nock off a turn or two on most of your siges.
    I also think you should be more willing to use headlong assault more, even if it only shorten the siege with one turn. Personally I use it all the time in my games unless my army is very low on health (or I have other sige projects that do a lot of wall damage)
    You are also quite close to get the nature upgrade that gives you extra mana so make sure that you have enough imperium to grab that.

    • @BlackArrowGaming
      @BlackArrowGaming  Рік тому

      Thanks for the reminders! Those will both require a substantial amount of imperium, so I will start saving now. Good to know early considering I'll probably start making some T4 transmuters soon, which will use up some imperium each turn. (I'll have to be conservative with how many of those I make.)

  • @Kris_Lighthawk
    @Kris_Lighthawk Рік тому +1

    That transmutation circle you can make may be very good. Check if there is any of the sets of magic materials you can complet with it! (you can easily get haste berries with an outpost)

    I think everything is going pretty solid at the moment, so no huge ideas. Maybe make a few scouts and have them put up outpost in the soon the be destroyed Purple's lands. Also, I can tell you that Yellow has their Tier 5 Tome and chosen Tome of the God Emperor. That really beefy Tyrant Knight that threatened Braham was buffed by Exalted Champion, giving him +100% to Damage and +5 to Defence, Resistance, and Statuses for 3 turns, so be on the lookout for Yellow casting that. Also, you should look to see if Braham could get any other casting Orb, since Yellow is very resistant to Spirt damage. Also, Blinding Magic could be okay on him since he ignores 7 Status Resistance, but I think just giving him more Health and Defenses is the safer option since Yellow's only really range unit is Awakners and Heroes, and Blinding to remove Retaliation strikes doesn't matter since you Berserkers just cancel them. Looks like next time will be the turning point to the cleaning up of the game!
    Side note: it might be better to keep the Snow Witches over the Furys and remove the Frost Arrow Enchantment, since the Furys are the only ones using it. Just a thought.

    • @BlackArrowGaming
      @BlackArrowGaming  Рік тому

      Good call on the "exalted champion" buff - I wasn't paying close enough attention but that is definitely something to watch out for. Also I like the idea of finding a new magic weapon for Braham. Don't know if I have anything T3 or better orbs for him yet, but I will check. If not, maybe that's something I could create in the item forge (if I ever get around to building an item forge considering the mana cost, lol).
      Between frost witches and fury archers, I think I'd rather keep the archers around. Considering the massive amount of status resistance that yellow has, frost witches have pretty much outlived their usefulness on that front unless I carefully pair them with flash freeze and blizzard.
