My first Dead show. I came from the UK to do a year as a student at Berkeley. Just had my birthday before this gig. Didn't know what to expect - I took my camera to take some pix. I got some funny looks when the flash went off! This was after a friendly fellow gave me some 'buzz' as he called it, ahem. Never seen an audience/band connection like it, before or since (and I've seen everyone from The Clash to Chuck Berry). I hitched a ride home afterwards from a guy in a '55 Chevy Bel Air. Couldn't find my keys so lay in the back garden watching the sun rise. My diary entry for the day was; 'everything and nothing'... Thanks for the post!
