I like the idea of bargaining and it's fairly common in occultic fiction for mere humans to sacrifice something to get the outcome they want, striking a deal with a lesser evil for a favor, a boon, or a gewgaw that might help them stop another more pressing threat they'd have no hope of defeating otherwise. I vaguely recall several such bargains during the run of Neil Gaiman's "Sandman", for example.
This game seems to be fascinating. I still have to listen to the podcast, which I definitely will, but by Shanna's description it gives me a little Twin Peaks in the 1930's vibes, at least on the theme and tone of the world. I might get that wrong but I love the idea.
I ordered and paid for the game before I knew about any of that but seeing the art and concepts, it's nothing some sharpies and gamemaster creativity can't take care of.
@@ae-vil I agree, people in my community are getting really tired of social politics interjected in games these days. People just want to blow off steam and game without all the attention seeking crybaby stuff. Had to put one out of our group, was causing to many problems pissing players off.
Around 20:00 min. What in the hell does eldritch horror have to do with racism? WTFDIJW? Almost backed this till I heard this woman blather BS! Another turn off.
This genre is inspired by and somewhat derived from the works of a notable racist. The racism is apparent in many of his writings. She was saying that they want to incorporate all the things people love about the genre, while acknowledging here the racism and taking care to avoid those undertones in the game. You also have the real world time and place chosen for the setting. Designers have to decide how much, if any, of such undesirable real world attitudes will be in their game. I think she did well to quickly acknowledge it and say that it won't be included. That's it. She then moved on to other things.
@@elementzero3379 Yeah, I get it with all this woke shit, "undesirable real world attitudes" from the whine ass crowd needs to be cut from games. People want to blow off steam after work not continue catering to spineless jellyfish with no comprehension of what's in their britches. Got to call bullshit on the "notable racist" comment. Seems today it's cool with the "in crowd" to call anyone racist. It's been used so much and out of context no one cares.
I really like the movie en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ritual_(2017_film) and although it plays in Sweden I think it might fit as an inspiration or transport the atmosphere of OGoA very well? Thank you to both of you for the great interview 😊👍❤️
I am getting an HPL vibe with real folk traditions woven in to create something new and amazing.
very much looking forward to this.

Quite the coup getting Shanna on your channel. Kudos.
Ready for more diverse gaming content now that wizards is having a real turbulent time with Hasbro's licensing morals

Shanna has the coolest signature I've ever seen.
Make more Numenera videos. Your insight into the atmosphere of the game is amazing. You’ve a knack for describing what I see.
Great reading lists!
Have they announced the release date? I'm eager to get my hands on it, especially after this fantastic interview.
Not as far as I know. Right now it's still in a design phase, so imagine we'll learn more in due time!
Our expected delivery date is March of 2023!
@@Montecookgames Wonderful, thank you!
Miss seeing uploads on your channel! Hope you're doing okay out there.
Hey where are you? Are you alright?
Hi there! Long time. Hope you're ok.
I like the setting idea however, the pronoun and sensitivity reader BS is a complete turn off. People are really getting tired of hearing it.

@@leatherguru8904Not at my table. I couldn’t imagine dealing with a player like that.

@@elementzero3379Same with Gygax. Almost like they are actually good at making things lol
I hope you are still producing content. I love your Numenera content!
Edit: Read your hiatus note. I wait with bated breath.
