      Thanks 🙏 David, ya it came out well 👍 it’s more of a jam song on the drums 🥁 I’m definitely winging it and I’m sure if I played it 100 times I would play it differently every time. So I just played it Kenny style and got a few of the fills very close at times.
      I’m getting more comfortable at this point after my month lay off as well as getting more comfortable with the kit configuration.
      Even though the one rack Tom set up is cool 😎, I prefer having more drums because I’m used to it.
      I wasn’t sure this actual take was the one that I was going to use, I didn’t even get to listen to it after recording, I had a utube drummer text me and we got into a long conversation, then my wife dragged me upstairs for dinner. Luckily the sound mix was very nice 👍
      I made one snare hit, near the end that I wish I could take back, but only I will know.
      I’m lucky if anyone actually listens to a minute of the videos, so I’m good 🙂

      @@dwstoeckel4740 , thanks 🙏 yes I’ve watched it 10 times myself, I like watching my progress, I’ve come a long way.
      I watch my videos and enjoy them, I just wish I had a consistent sound mix, I was listening to my Alice Cooper Welcome to my Nightmare tonight and although I did a good job on everything, the snare sound and mix , is so disappointing 😩

      Thanks 🙏 yes it came out well 😀 , I wasn’t expecting to drum 🥁 today because I was so tired 🥱
      It was actually recorded in a few takes, no frustration, it’s a jam along song 🎵 impossible to remember everything the real drummer is playing.

      Thanks Paul, I didn’t even expect to drum yesterday, I was just too tired. I was watching a utube video on tuning drums and decided to mess around my rack tom’s , once I started playing, I felt a boost of energy to make this cover.
      It’s a great song 🎵 I’ve always loved it, but since I don’t use drum less tracks it’s always a challenge, so I just jammed along and with in a few takes, I felt this was good enough. I just try to get close enough to the record.

      @@The-Tired-Drummer I hate playing along with songs that still feature drums, I prefer to go for drumless karaoke versions, although that is sometimes disappointing, and lately I sometimes also use "moises", an application where you can set the drum line can be removed of existing original songs

      @@PaulDes , I tried Moises , I have a year subscription. It wasn’t for me, I found when I removed the drums, other things were taken out as well. I even had a couple regular followers tell me something was lacking in my cover. Perhaps I try it again ?

      @PaulDes Місяць тому

      @@The-Tired-Drummer yes, the quality of the tracks that have been edited by "moises" suffers from the quality, which you do not have with the karaoke version, but that is sometimes annoying because you also hear that it is not the original version... . choose between the plague and cholera, as we say here in Belgium

      @@The-Tired-Drummer drumless tracks to me are the reason I play drum covers. I hate trying to get my parts perfect and tight with the drum track. That’s because the mix is harder, I like to play with my feel even though I try to get the drumming close. I just did a Doobie Brothers song (unreleased) and left the entire drum part in because they used two drummers and percussion. I turned out great … I’ll release it soon. But generally drumless tracks let my drumming be heard and that’s what is fun for me! Hearing me play the song … you should try it! Moises is free to try! Great program!

      Mapex Armory 8x7 Transparent Walnut . I do have that size drum on my Yamaha kit, and have used it before, perhaps I could give it a try again, a different color but with my lighting effects perhaps it wouldn’t look that bad ?
