I agree! I have a super large chest and to be honest sometimes those "rules" really help me balance out my body shape and that's okay too. I feel like they aren't strict restrictions but guidelines for women who struggle to figure out how to style their bodies. I am all about wearing whatever I want and feeling empowered, but sometimes that empowerment comes with me finding what works for my body shape.
I really don't understand why they're looking at this in such a negative way when these rules (aka suggestions) can actually be really helpful for people that might not know what flatters their body shape to help them feel better in their clothing and just help confidence in general. Is it just me or have they actually made videos regarding what clothing suits different body types in the past or ones similar to that idea?
Its also the fashion industry that says these things not the media. Think people should do some research. And the fact that the 'host' chose something she knew shed be comfortable and look fine in really bugged me, thats not fair everyone knows fine well how that one dress looks on everybody. I think what Nina said is true- It's okay to try to pick out things that theoretically flatter your body, but ultimately you should just wear what you want and what makes you comfortable. For some people, that may be the clothes that typically flatter your body shape. For others, it could be the complete opposite.
In an era where many people shop online for clothes and can't always try things on before buying, it makes sense for there to be style guides for certain bodies. It's just meant to be a helpful guideline so that ladies can have a better idea of what to shop for, and with so many clothing styles to choose, shopping without knowing what to look can be daunting. I'm also certain that not a single one of these style guides say "YOU CAN ONLY WEAR STYLES FOR YOUR BODY TYPE" because that would be absolutely ridiculous.
i was thinking the exaact same thing! they aren't "rules" and that you only look good in these clothes when you have a certain shape, but they do help to see what could fit your body better, yet you aren;t obligated to wear those clothes
It’s a fact that certain clothes can make you appear shorter/taller/fatter/skinnier etc. Does this mean that you’re not allowed to wear them? No. Does this mean that you’d look better in other clothes? Yes. It’s nothing but innocent advice. Stop getting offended over such small things.
You still didn't get that BuzzFeed are all about whining and pinning everything on " society standards " ? Ps: I totally agree with you , I'm myself a pear shape and I forbid myself some clothes because they are so unflattering on me !
Obviously you’re “allowed” to wear whatever clothes you want, and no one has to abide by the rules. the point of these “rules” and body shapes are to help women feel more confident and accentuate their best features. Don’t read/ listen to fashion magazines if you’ll get offended by the whole point of them
yeah, they're not telling you what to wear bc you have to, but the recommendations are for what would be most flattering for your body type. I swear half the videos they make are based on taking a concept, misinterpreting it and running with it
I studied fashion and I always LOOOVEE whenever I see people I’ve worked with and people that are close to me learn what they can do to build their confidence. Now they have that glow and that powerful attitude whenever I see them
wow these people are so whiny.. wear whatever you want, it's just an advice.. take it or leave it, it's up to you. This video actually supports what they're trying to oppose. They look way better when they dress according to their shape.
I agree that anyone can wear whatever they want, but they're acting like they're being oppressed by these fashion "rules." Obviously it's not against the law and nobody cares if you wear clothes that are supposedly not right for your body shape, they're just suggestions. And most of them didn't like how the outfits looked anyway so why are they acting like all women are being forced to wear certain clothes. They all said in the beginning that they don't follow fashion rules in the first place.
They realized after wearing the "wrong" clothes just how much they've internalized shape rules. Go take a poll of chubby and large chested women and see how many of them think they look terrible in horizontal stripes. I'm chubby, wear horizontal stripes a lot. They look fine.
No, you don’t get it. No one is saying that you have to wear something just because of your body type. No one is stopping you. These are recommendations to look more flattering.
So... the point of this was to look bad? I'm hourglass and I wear everything I want, but I know when something hits me at a wrong spot and makes me look wider or heavier.
I agree. I mean there isn’t a law saying they have to follow the rules on how to dress but the suggestions are there for a reason because it flatters your specific body type . And these outfits did not flatter them...
Literally no one told you that you can’t wear these clothes. They’re just saying what is most flattering for your shape. No one told you that you shouldn’t wear em
Magazine: *"This wont flatter you - why not try this!"* Buzzfeed: *Wears the things they tell them wont flatter them* Buzzfeed girls: *"HmMmM tHiS iSnT tHe MoSt FlAtTeRiNg - bUt ItS nOt BeCaUsE oF mY bOdY tYpE!!"* Me: 😐😑😐 *why*
People blow my mind lol. Believe it or not some women are clueless to how to dress and will google how to and find these “rules” helpful. 😆🤦🏼♀️ (this is my reaction to this video not your comment lol)
I get the point of the video but I'm sorry those clothes didn't flatter anyone's body type only further proving that what these articles say is true. You should be able to wear what you want, they don't say you can't. They just give helpful tips to help you find what could possibly be most flattering on your body shape...also I don't think some of the body types mentioned here were correct.
Except for when the rules don't account for things like shorter/longer legs or shorter/longer torsos. Yeah I might be whatever shape but body proportions matter too!
Honestly, If there's one thing in fashion I'm not offended by, it's these "shapes" they put us in. These tips are not trying to suppress what you should wear. They are trying to give you things and tips to accentuate your best features. Especially for those girls who feel insecure with what they wear. It tells them "Hey...you might be embarrassed of your body shape but this will make you look and feel better." This is one of the only things in fashion I don't complain about
Well no one goes around saying oh that outfit doesnt look good on your figure, but society as a whole does, social media does. That statement may or may not have been literal. You dont have to abide to anything, at the end of the day, you have the choice whether to bend to the rules or not. But society pressures you into doing things they think are acceptable and most people say they abide to the rules because they essentially want to "fit in" with what others are abiding to as well. Yes they are suggestions, but people believe anything on the internet, therefore a lot of people follow those suggestion. Because a lot of people follow the suggestions, those who dont are seen as sticking out or unfashionable so they feel like they must "abide" to those suggestions or rules so they are not seen as unfashionable. So they can "fit in". Its all just psychological and peer pressure, that's why they say "rules that you have to abide by"
Preciousbean_Jisung No, if they wanted to wear anything they want, it's because they don't care about fitting in. Meaning they shouldn't have to care about these rules. Your point is a little invalid
It just seems they’re so against ‘society’. Nobody is telling anyone what they can and cannot wear? Advice given about body types is there to help people choose clothes that best suit them, and thus help to promote body confidence. People are so quick to use the ‘blame society card’ and read into something that is actually intended to simply be helpful advice and be offended by it? Stop overthinking and getting so offended, and life will be simpler.
I 100% agree. There are always going to be exceptions to every rule, so if you think it looks cute on you, then wear it, but for the most part these "rules" aim to pinpoint what styles are generally flattering for your shape, and which ones are not. All of their outfits were just kind of eh to me. None of them looked terrible, but not one of them was suprizingly flattering on the wearer. Also, all the women seemed uncomfortable with what they were wearing. They should have given the women a few options and found things that broke these fashion "rules" that they actually really liked because right now the video just seems to be showing why someone wrote these rules in the first place.
I feel like even though these things are “ ingrained”, most of the girls didn’t like their outfits. When they were describing their styles, they were basically following the rules they challenged.
Okay listen up, people seem to take offense when people say “that doesn’t flatter your body type” or say “what clothes fit your body type” but it’s really not. People are just saying these clothing items are what flatter you and make you look better than you already are. It’s not meant to be offensive. If you don’t care about that stuff then awesome be you I know “pretty” clothing can be like REALLY uncomfortable(which I hate) I love wearing comfy clothes, but Just Don’t act like your being targeted when really people aren’t targeting you
Omg thank you couldn’t have said it better myself.. these guidelines are very helpful for people who cannot seem to find clothes that are flattering for their body type!
Lmao, ok, the idea of body shapes, for *both men and women* is not from magazines. The shapes and sizes such as apple, pear shapes etc, aren't to "box" anyone. The idea of the shape categories are a guide to support people to enhance their natural features for what clothes will appear more flattering for their specific shape than other styles of clothing. It's not society "boxing" anyone, but now that we mention it, humans actually love to be categorized and boxed, such as Buzzfeed, for boxing themselves into the "screw society, we are going to break the rules".. cmon now Buzzfeed, you ain't slick.
They aren’t requirements lol just tips for people who want to make their bodies look more proportional and show off your best features damn why are they so angry about it???
Marissa Lane ikr they made a video about plus sized women trying the one size fits all brandy Melville. Meanwhile all the sensible people who shop brandy knows that is for petit women....they gotta be mad bout everything
Marissa Lane they’re not angry... this wasn’t an angry video 😅. There’s just a lot of annoyance around the fact that society perceived an hourglass as idealistic, so if u have it, u MUST show it off, and if u don’t have it, u HAVE to wear things to make u look like u have that shape. This video shows that if u wear something “not for ur body type” it won’t change anything, except ur confidence, and people probably won’t notice. Conclusion- dress how u like for yourself, without always feeling like it’s “to fit into society’s body goals”
Nina I’m not being rude but i don’t think you have an hour glass figure. Cause I’m pretty sure your top half should be portioned equally to your hips area and your waist would be noticeably smaller aswell. Again I’m not hating love your vids
Caroline Conrad: "Nina, I don’t think you have an hour glass figure. Cause I’m pretty sure your top half should be portioned equally to your hips area and your waist would be noticeably smaller aswell" wouldn't have been rude as well actually.
Nah, I've seen it, some people are berated for not following fashion rules and it's very strange and weird. I have no idea why, but I've seen it happen.
Lena Refseth Agreed. I personally feels as if there is a difference between something that just fits and sometimes that flatters. It can be the size of the clothing, the materials, the color and literally everything else.
butt has nothing to with an hourglass..it is having a waist. See the other women dont have a waist she does . that makes an hourglass@@mhadjebharin6291
"Girls get offended at suggestions to help flatter their body shape." After they tried on their rebellious outfits they all naturally tried to correct the outfit to be more comfortable... like the rules that they were breaking... and didn't say eff convention I can rock this, simply complained about what they already knew. Complaining just to make content. Yikes guys. You don't seem like you're having fun at all in these videos anymore.
The girl with the apple shape definitely had a harder time in this challenge because we’re always taught that narrow hips and broad shoulders aren’t feminine. That’s why the other girls recommended the challenge and the apple girl stayed quiet. I have a similar body and flaring skirts always help 👗
TBH, hers was the only outfit I actually liked. I thought the neckline did a great job of showing off her shoulders while still making them look feminine.
Izzy Mac I searched it up it means Inflicting harsh and authoritarian treatment Or weighing heavily on the mind of spirits Or(of weather) close and sultry DISCLAIMER: YOU MAYBE A DIFFERENT COUNTRY SO I MAY BE THAT ITS WORD WHERE YOU ARE WHAT MEANS WHATEVER PS. I got this info straight from Siri
I feel mean saying this but I don't think it's the body shape, it's the clothing. Like, the clothing might just look bad in general. It's not the body type.
I’m so mad y’all are taking fashion recommendations so seriously. Some of these were super unflattering. Of course, you CAN wear anything you want but just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I could wear trapeze dresses but A-line dresses look better on my body. They’re just recommendations. Not everything is an attack on body image 🙄
I think sometimes people just get too offended. Like body shapes are a thing and it’s a fact that certain items of clothing look better on some body shapes than others. What the media and other sources do is give some advice on what looks better on each body type and something that will make women or men feel better in their own bodies. If you want to follow the advice, good. If not, no one is making you do it. Dramatizing things is not good and never was.....
In my opinion this video is just idiotic... so what stylists recommend certain styles to certain body types? They aren't trying to discriminate you, they are just showing you how to make your body appear like the ideal body shape. They aren't giving you set rules they're showing people what most people want/asked for. I mean if you don't want to wear those clothes then whatever! do that! If you do want to then yeah! wear them!
BeccaPekkaRekka yea but this whole video is trying to prove a point that makes no sense. People actually think that fashion recommendations are oppressive and sexist
thegirlwarriør they’re really not though. It’s literally just an experiment. Just because it’s buzzfeed y’all get so offended over everything they do. Like just go watch something else, it ain’t that serious.
@@Dvgteeth well they really are tho they say things like "they tell us not to wear this" and "the media loves to put us into boxes… apparently certain body shapes should wear certain clothes" whether it's an experiment or not you can't deny it has a vibe of fighting oppression or something. They even refer to them as rules that have to abide by… they act like they're fighting the system when they're not thats what thegirlwarrior is saying
I'm hourglass shaped definitely not Kim Kardashian shaped, but nevertheless hourglass and I don't wear boxy things; I don't think boxy things look good on me, the only thing I wear that is boxy is my uniform for school.
Simply_Kennedy except Nina just looks like an apple. this is also coming from someone who has an hourglass shape and i love showing off my body but, i think nina just said that to say that.
No one is an hourglass like Kim K, her body is surgically enhanced (although she does have a natural hourglass figure). Nina doesn't seem to have much of a waist, or if she does she clearly doesn't know how to dress to flatter it.
@@Rusigate9 please stfu. I said no one normally has an hourglass LIKE KIM. I myself have an hourglass but I'm a lot skinnier. Look at Kim pre surgery to now and tell me there's not a huge difference. Kim has always been an hourglass but her measurements were never that exaggerated.
I believe the recommendations we're made to flatter and accentuate some one's own figure. So, it's not a way to shame them but embrace what they have naturally. I believe the outfits that were the opposite of the recommendations were not a way show off the body type a person has but instead hide it. Like someone who is ashamed of their body would do. I also don't like the title. It makes it sound like it was a rule that is enforced. Usually when someone is looking for styling tips for their body, sources use words like "flatter" and "accentuate". I also want to point out, putting a camera to people's faces is a way to make the people reacting to the outfits not want to say their opinion but just say what will make everyone happy. And we all have to start being the real ones and give criticism in an informational way. Also, you guys say that someone should be able to wear what they think looks good but you all are asking for people's opinions like yours aren't enough? Isn't that the whole point? I like the idea of body positivity but you guys are making the people who support it look bad.
If you're a woman/girl keep reading.. No matter you're body type/shape you are BEAUTIFUL don't let anyone drag u down just because THEY don't like how u look! U keep doing u girl! Rock it 💕
Of course you can wear whatever you want.... but there are certain silhouettes that flatter certain body types. There are exceptions to every "rule", but this video shows why these guidelines exist, everyone looks more frumpy and everyone was disappointed with how they looked. And there ARE fashion guidelines for men, dress shirts and dress pants come in different cuts for different body types. The "rules" are not bad.
❤️ Because of As/Is, i have started wearing things like high waisted skirts and mesh tops. I’m a chubby girl and I’m very self conscious of the fat on my body. So thank y’all so much for helping me see that if i want to wear it, then i should.
As/Is is content created for women and discusses various issues or things relating to female empowerment. Don't know what else would be expected. Either way I like it. :)
Yes, Dylthechicken, because that is the only thing all women everywhere are concerned about: body image, clothes, and empowering themselves by wearing certain clothes. I'm a woman, and I know plenty of other women, who are more concerned with learning new things about the world and learning new skills. Why doesn't As/Is ever do videos about women learning to drive manual, women learning to brew beer, women learning to weld, women learning another language, women volunteering at xyz shelter to help people way less fortunate than them and who have more things to worry about than body image? That's why so many people are getting sick of this channel and Buzzfeed in general. We've HAD ENOUGH of the same BS over and over and over!
In the end, wear what makes you feel comfortable and happy, the “rules” that are there are just kind advice. Have a good day person reading this! +Another point I am going to bring up is that the “categories” for women’s bodies aren’t too specific because a lot of women have mixed of different bodies.
Same with basically all buzzfeed content, particularly As/Is. It's just pointless fluff, mostly there to try and sell you a useless product. Yet I can't stop watching.
please wear a bra, you will get back pain if you don’t. Small chested women don’t really have too, but for the sake of comfort....just wear one. all these feminists make it about society but it’s really about comfort and support.
@@ccnuneze but they are hardly as omnipresent as the ones for women. Even the concept of men wanting to look good and taking care of their appearance is kind of new in modern society, specially in relation to mainstream media
These kinds of videos really really annoy me. No one forces you not to wear something or not wear something because you're a certain body shape. They're suggestions which are suppose to flatter your figure best. IF YOU WISH TO DISREGARD THAT THEN DO SO, NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO FOLLOW SAID SUGGESTIONS. Buzzfeed just using keywords trying to be politically woke
I prefer to choose clothing based off on what I like about my body. I like my big hips, I like my broad shoulders, I like my long arms, so I'll accentuate it Body shape rules can be very informative about what type of clothing will accentuate what in your body
I was really annoyed by this whole video, tbh... And I normally like Buzzfeed. No one is forcing you guys to try to wear (or not-wear) anything. Those articles about women's clothing are just there to inform you what flatters your body type the most, and what doesn't flatter it. A point which you guys kind of proved since - lo and behold - none of the outfits you picked really flattered you. The advice is there for the taking, but I've never heard of this imaginary "rule" that states you HAVE to dress that way... Which made this whole video seem pretty pointless.
Lee Almonte this video makes me wondering, what kind of environment that they live? I dont think we should get offended just bcs a little fashion tips.. it's just there no matter you wanna follow it or not.. yeah, you're right, I was really annoyed by this whole video too. If something like this could affect them so bad, I wonder what they would do if something worse than that happened.
Agreed. I personally feel as if there is a HUGE difference between something that just fits and sometimes that flatters. The size of the clothing, the materials, the color all can influence this.
Destiny Erick she definitely is even if she doesn’t look like one. and hourglass means your shoulders and hips are wider that the waist which is true for her
Ana R technically it’s that your shoulders and hips are around the same measurement and your waist is about 10 in smaller than your shoulder/hip measurement which doesn’t appear to be the case for her tbh
Pear shape does not necessarily need to have a small waist as long as the hips are wide, i mean you can have a small waist too but not all bodies are the same, take in consideration that the whole deal (Hourglass, Pear, Apple, Rectangle) is just a way to sort them easier but not accurate to all bodies as everyone has some difference to their body.
Jesus Christ, who is telling Nina all these lies about her being an hourglass shape and being heavy chested. I have nothing against her, she's cute and sweet, but it's lowkey annoying
Dixie White 100% agree, your glasses have WAY more defined waistlines. She’s a bit thicker in the bottom and I think people are getting confused with that
Dixie White I think it’s because she has more of a subtle hourglass figure. Her shoulders and hips are about equal and her waist does seem smaller in comparison. Kim k is clearly more exaggerated so comparing the two wasn’t smart lol.
@@candacegeorge8932 yeah that makes her rectangle lol. Im a dude and i have a 5 inch diffence in waist and hips... Hourglasses are meant to have 10 inch difference atleast or where is the hourglass
Her body might be hourglass but she s not the thinniest person in the world, not saying that in a bad way, but when your body in not toned it hides parts of your body or make them look diiferent than they are.
The point is not to tell you what to wear, its to help you get the best out of your shape. Buzzfeed is just about yelling I HAVE THE RIGHT TO , THEREFORE I MUST DO IT.
They are not rules, just a guide line to help someone dress. Try this, and compare it with something that would fit their bodyshape. Let’s see why these guidelines are made.
Love Nina but I thought an hourglass figure is when your bottom half is proportionate with you top half with a tiny midriff, accentuating a more voluptuous figure.
Hourglass is where the top and hips are wider than the waist. You don't have to have a tiny waist to be an hourglass, it just has to be noticably smaller than your boobs and hips, as long as your boobs and hips and proportionate to each other.
littlefox yeah but the point of the comment was her waist isn’t noticeably smaller. wearing crop tops and something that’s a little high waisted doesn’t make you an hourglass !
You’re right. Nina isn’t an hourglass. While her body proportions appear that way, she isn’t a true hourglass. But she is still curvy. I’m an hourglass. 38” chest, 29” waist, 38” hips.
I have an hourglass figure. I used to buy a ton of shift dresses, because I like the idea of them and because I like a bohemian style. My parents were always telling me, growing up, to cover up. But it does NOT look flattering on me. I look frumpy. Though I've gotten a bit of a stomach, I'd rather be uncomfortable about that than uncomfortable about being frumpy.
I dont really get this. There are no “rules.” Who said you NEED to wear that stuff? It’s just what will make your body type look nicer and more put together. I personally don’t buy clothing that doesn’t look good on me because just that.... IT DOESNT LOOK GOOD ON ME. Why would I want to wear something that makes me look weird? Wear what you like on you.
I never saw those as "rules", I always saw them as recommendations under the idea that "hey if you wanna look your best, then wear the things that will look the best on your body" but I never saw them being enforcedby anyone...

they were never rules, buzzfeed is just trying to find another reason to be overly sensitive and butthurt eek

Exactly!
They not trying to make you look nice they are trying to make you look more like an hourglass which to me is unfair
Idk why people get offended over the "rules" in fashion, it's literally just tips for what looks best on your body 🙄🙄
Ikr
Right?!

1:21 "rules that you HAVE to ABIDE by"... did anyone say you *had* to? lmao, theyre suggestions not rules of the law
Agreed! 👏🏻
Right
Well no one goes around saying oh that outfit doesnt look good on your figure, but society as a whole does, social media does.
@@cdrl3170 There point is invalid. Point blank period.
Thats and excellent comment. Hope these girls see it and won't be feeling so negative about this topic
Belle Booth I agree (as well as with you Alexandra Holcomb), you both made really good points

Okay listen up, people seem to take offense when people say “that doesn’t flatter your body type” or say “what clothes fit your body type” but it’s really not. Next up: Women and men wear clothes that's not their size. "I feel like that this is discrimination and I should wear what I want."

I mean if you don't want to wear those clothes then whatever! do that! If you do want to then yeah! wear them!

Minimus Mouse yes there are people like that or bigger without surgery

I prefer to choose clothing based off on what I like about my body.
I like my big hips, I like my broad shoulders, I like my long arms, so I'll accentuate it
Body shape rules can be very informative about what type of clothing will accentuate what in your body
All they did was prove that fashion “rules” exist for a reason... the clothes that go against the rules look soooo unflattering on them 😣💔
Maggie Bond the black girls outfit was cute actually
I was really annoyed by this whole video, tbh... And I normally like Buzzfeed.
No one is forcing you guys to try to wear (or not-wear) anything. Those articles about women's clothing are just there to inform you what flatters your body type the most, and what doesn't flatter it. A point which you guys kind of proved since - lo and behold - none of the outfits you picked really flattered you.
The advice is there for the taking, but I've never heard of this imaginary "rule" that states you HAVE to dress that way... Which made this whole video seem pretty pointless.

If Nina is an hourglass then I'm Nick Bateman.
She is! Just because she isn't skinny it doesn't mean that she can't been hourglass. Nobody is perfect or same there are far more shapes than 4 or 6.
Ana Marija I think she is fairly skinny, she’s not an hourglass though
I read that as not Batman...
The "pear" girl was absolutely not a pear !
Her hips were wider than her shoulders, so I would say that she is ''pear shaped''
Julie Just A Random Girl Pears usually have a thinner waist, she looks more like an apple shape
pears have a waist she was an apple or rectangle
True, hourglass bodies have waists (atleast) 10 inches smaller than their bust and hips. Her waist looks around 5 inches smaller 🤷🏼♀️
There aren’t ‘rules’ it’s just advise for what would flatter your body shape the most. No one said you HAVE to wear that stuff 🤦♀️
The point is not to tell you what to wear, its to help you get the best out of your shape. Buzzfeed is just about yelling I HAVE THE RIGHT TO , THEREFORE I MUST DO IT.
Chloe really outta here, appropriating Safiya’s aesthetic 😜
Safiyal appropriation
Finally I was looking for this comment
And when she said she looked like a bat... I was so shook
They are not rules, just a guide line to help someone dress. Try this, and compare it with something that would fit their bodyshape. Let’s see why these guidelines are made.
Its not that your aren't supposed to wear that stuff its just a proven fact that some clothes look more flattering on certain body types.
Love Nina but I thought an hourglass figure is when your bottom half is proportionate with you top half with a tiny midriff, accentuating a more voluptuous figure.
Exactly her waist isn't small enough
Hourglass is where the top and hips are wider than the waist. You don't have to have a tiny waist to be an hourglass, it just has to be noticably smaller than your boobs and hips, as long as your boobs and hips and proportionate to each other.
littlefox yeah but the point of the comment was her waist isn’t noticeably smaller. wearing crop tops and something that’s a little high waisted doesn’t make you an hourglass !
Yeah no she’s not an hourglass
You’re right. Nina isn’t an hourglass. While her body proportions appear that way, she isn’t a true hourglass. But she is still curvy.
I’m an hourglass. 38” chest, 29” waist, 38” hips.
Chloe’s coming for Saf’s style with the first outfit.
My body shape is elephant
Hah like me XD
Omg me too all day every day
Lol same
And guess what? I read elegant at first so there you go 🤣
@@shaniac22 I almost wrote that at first lol but than I realized 😂
I have an hourglass figure. I used to buy a ton of shift dresses, because I like the idea of them and because I like a bohemian style. My parents were always telling me, growing up, to cover up. But it does NOT look flattering on me. I look frumpy. Though I've gotten a bit of a stomach, I'd rather be uncomfortable about that than uncomfortable about being frumpy.

Me just watching it over and over
Hehehehe
I dont really get this. There are no “rules.” Who said you NEED to wear that stuff? It’s just what will make your body type look nicer and more put together. I personally don’t buy clothing that doesn’t look good on me because just that.... IT DOESNT LOOK GOOD ON ME. Why would I want to wear something that makes me look weird? Wear what you like on you.
I think that was the point... they wore things that didnt flatter them
