I am so tired, and not simply physically exhausted, just tired of living. I've been working my ass off since college with little pay, trying to improve myself in every way I can. In this time I learned foreign languages, became quite good at my job, got some certificates. Some not so good things happened in that time too, as happen to all of us. The world we live in often simply does not give you space for real healing - there is always another thing that requires your attention, that needs to processed quickly, that weighs you down in some way. I'm currently 28 and my main dream would be to just have a time, even just 3 months, when everything would simply stop. A space and time where I could recover, to "sit and count my dollars" as Ben sings, even though I don't have that much of them. To simply stare at the sea... til my eyes have had enough.

The video really shows us you enjoying some well deserved time off and I really love its ambiguity. So glad you are back pard I have been dreaming of this for years. Murmurations is also one of the most beautiful songs you've release it really complements the album entirely. I would love to see an acoustic session of A boat as the guitar is just insane. I'm loving you and Mickey flowing off each other, you's are really creating some impressive pieces of music. The strongest part of this album is that it really focusses on the music more than anything else. I wouldn't except anything less from you and the band as this album is complete class served up with beautiful composition.

I was walking the West Highland Way in Scotland in summer 2018 on my own. It was day 5 and I got up early to proceed with the hike. It came to a moment that I was walking through a pine forest near Loch Lomond completely alone. Streams of sunlight fell through the branches of the pines and there was nice smell of early morning mountain dew. The whole trip I did not listen to music because I wanted to listen to the beautiful sound of the birds but for this song I made an exception that day and I listened to this song while walking through this forest and you can guess it: it was a truly magical experience. Thanks Ben Howard for your gift.

I’m amazed how Ben Howard works with atmospheres, his ability of recreating a feeling. This music video is by far my favorite among all the videos I’ve seen on UA-cam because it’s perfection. This song has a very particular light, we can hear the light and feel the atmosphere just by listening to it and the video is completely in the same mood. I’ve been next to where it was shot and it’s exactly how it feels like.

This is the beauty of existence, if you understand life is a journey of lessons. I love Ben as an artist as he leaves the door open for interpretation and always manages to get an emotional reaction.

In the beginning Ben is kicking his heels and wondering how he’s been at the desert for so long. He was left there during End of the Affair. (or during the ovbious burnout he had last tour.) We all know how much Ben loves water, so the desert could be metaphor for a place which he doesn’t enjoy. He doesnt really look happy down there. After the day is done, he is thirsty and hallucinating from the heat. He climbs up the long way up and finally finds an oasis (water!) but it may very well be just a mirage, who knows? This video is an ambiguous masterpiece, a short film. This is why I love this guy.

This is an absolute masterpiece by in my opinion one of the most important minds in music, period. Ben Howard and Justin Vernon for me create art that comes from a different planet/dimension all together unlike anything I think any of us will see again in our life times. I’ve got something to say.. This album came out whilst I was holidaying around Cornwall for 2weeks.. perfect timing i thought. I admit to feeling a tad underwhelmed after that 1st listen.. I was just getting used to another of my favourite artists- Bon Ivers new bleepy blobby direction & it seemed to me Ben was searching for his own unique sound. But after 35yrs of listening to all kinds of music I always like to see an artist progress, to push him/herself- that’s why as a Manchester lad I can never forgive Oasis for after Morning Glory churning out the same old pap album after album- but I digress. So I lived with Noonday Dream, luckily I have a 50mile commute each working day & before I knew it I hadn’t changed the cd in the car for 2 months. It’s an astounding album, my favourite album of the last decade. I’m writing this his after just stripping the front room wallpaper & Nica Libres came on my Spotify randomly & a thought occurred to me... I loved Every Kingdom & then Bens 2nd album came out & I loved that twice as much as every kingdom & after living with Noonday I love that album twice as much as I Forget Where We Where- which I thought would be absolutely impossible but there you go. Now Bens got a lot to live up to for whenever he releases a fourth album but I’ve no doubt he’ll be up to the challenge. Sorry for the novel but if you’re one of those who preferred bens first two albums & never gave Noonday a chance then please reconsider, live with it as I did cos you’re missing out big time xx

I am in the North of Thailand at the moment. When I first heard the song I was in my room looking outside of the window as it was raining and thundering. The rain was dripping from the lush green plants and the ambient sounds in this masterpiece started sending the most wonderful chills down my spine.

This is an absolute masterpiece by in my opinion one of the most important minds in music, period. Ben Howard and Justin Vernon for me create art that comes from a different planet/dimension all together unlike anything I think any of us will see again in our life times. Absolutely surreal, yet again!
I’ve got something to say..
This album came out whilst I was holidaying around Cornwall for 2weeks.. perfect timing i thought.
I admit to feeling a tad underwhelmed after that 1st listen.. I was just getting used to another of my favourite artists- Bon Ivers new bleepy blobby direction & it seemed to me Ben was searching for his own unique sound.
But after 35yrs of listening to all kinds of music I always like to see an artist progress, to push him/herself- that’s why as a Manchester lad I can never forgive Oasis for after Morning Glory churning out the same old pap album after album- but I digress.
So I lived with Noonday Dream, luckily I have a 50mile commute each working day & before I knew it I hadn’t changed the cd in the car for 2 months.
It’s an astounding album, my favourite album of the last decade.
I’m writing this his after just stripping the front room wallpaper & Nica Libres came on my Spotify randomly & a thought occurred to me...
I loved Every Kingdom & then Bens 2nd album came out & I loved that twice as much as every kingdom & after living with Noonday I love that album twice as much as I Forget Where We Where- which I thought would be absolutely impossible but there you go.
Now Bens got a lot to live up to for whenever he releases a fourth album but I’ve no doubt he’ll be up to the challenge.
Sorry for the novel but if you’re one of those who preferred bens first two albums & never gave Noonday a chance then please reconsider, live with it as I did cos you’re missing out big time xx

really? I've always thought the opposite. His albums are always so far apart and each gap it almost seems as though he wont come back.
I am in the North of Thailand at the moment. When I first heard the song I was in my room looking outside of the window as it was raining and thundering. The rain was dripping from the lush green plants and the ambient sounds in this masterpiece started sending the most wonderful chills down my spine.
