This song is super beautiful because it works on so many levels. Everything about it points to caring for each other with unconditional love, and looking after loved ones when they are in need. It is essentially making the point that we should love each other and look after each way in the same way our beloved pet loves us. A faithful dog never looks down on its owner because of their social status or sexuality. The dog only cares if it is loved and cared for, and that's how we should look out for each other.

Pirates of the Mississippi were an American country music band founded in 1987. It disbanded in 2007. "Feed Jake" is their biggest success and it os from 1991. the most successful being "Feed Jake", which went to number 15 in 1991.

The beauty of the song is that it may mean something different to everyone who hears it according to the individual. Those concerned with homelessness will consider it as a humanitarian issue. Those who are concerned with discrimination against sexual minorities will take it as such. Those loving pets and animals will take it as an anima rights issue. Thanks Michelle for this jewel.

Somebody told me about it after I made a comment about my dog, Jake, had just died. I ended up in floods of tears. I always used to say to my neighbour when I left for work, that if anything happened to me, to take Jake and feed him, as he was a good dog.
