Everyone thinks lacrosse goalie is so easy which is the most annoying thing. So many people say to me “all you do is stand there the whole game” or “yeah but you still let in 10 shots a game”. It’s probably the hardest position In sports, but 0 respect😭
@@aaronricketts3313 phisically it's not hard it's just something only alcertain people would do, other people don't want to get shot at. That's where the respect is, but u can't tell me it's harder than runningbfrom one side to another.
Don’t ever settle for decent. I just started playing goalie 2 months ago and coaches believe I’m better than a lot of goalies who’ve played for years but that’s just because of my work ethic. Never settle
i got nothin but the utmost respect for lax keepers. Like i just remember how crazy i thought my high school keeper was for havin absolutely 0 fear while saving 80+ mph shots lol. Guys are absolutely nuts
I am a lacrosse goalie from Maryland and the girls shot hella hard, but I can't imagine how much it hurts to get hit in the foot/shin at almost 100 mph shot
I’ve been playing goalie for 3 days and it seems like every time the ball gets shot my eyes close or it’s like my eyes go in the complete opposite direction. Any tips?
Honestly, I’d say to just get more reps in practice or at home. Goalie is an extremely difficult position to play and the only way to get better is to practice and study the game. Once your body gets used to being shot at, you won’t close your eyes and you’ll react to the ball better. I hope that helped!
Same dude, yesterday my coach told me to play goalie 10 minutes before the game started and I hadn’t played any goalie before that we lost 12-0 and I was goalie the whole time
To get used to look the ball in get a lanyard and clip it to your helmet and loop it through your stick and if you look the wrong way then it will pull your head towards the stick. That helped me a lot just saying. Also get reps in when you hit the wall
One thing is to try and get used to being hit by the ball. It will hurt but it won't hurt forever, shake it off and keep playing. Practicing with tennis balls also really help.
You couldn’t fine any highlight saves from the 2018 Ivy League tournament. Hard to believe. Record setting tournament for the Cornell Goalie Christian Knight.
Can someone tell me about the gear (if any) the tendys wear? Because it literally looks like just a chestie cup and bucket. That's pretty hardcore I imagine it would hurt a lot.
that's mostly it bro. helmet, chest protector, cup, and gloves with a reinforced thumb piece. getting hit in places where you dont have padding stings quite a bit, but the adrenaline helps a ton especially during games! playing goalie is 50% mental and 50% being mental haha
Haha, same here but keep in mind these are like Division 1 goalies from some of the best colleges (might’ve been some PLL in there too, idk) so they’ve been working their asses off to get to the level they at now
Why aren’t there any women’s saves? (It just says “lacrosse saves” not “men’s lacrosse saves”) so wouldn’t that include everyone? Great video! I just think it would be better to include both, or at least specify. Thanks! :)
It’s nice to see us goalies finally getting appreciation. Great vid!
Thanks! I’ll be showcasing them again with highlights from this past season as well

Aaron Ricketts As a goalie I agree

I am a decent lacrosse goalie from northern Minnesota and this vid inspired me to do a lot better thanks.
Means a lot, thank you!

I can confirm this, we just get used to it eventually and focus more on saving the shot then the pain of getting hit
Nice to see the goalies getting respect
Goalies go sicko mode💀😂 nice vid btw
hahah thank you!
@@LacrosseAnalytics Nice edits

It hurts. I got a fracture in my ankle from a d pole shot once. When they go to shoot on you your life flashes before your eyes lol.
I love this
Went to youtube to watch hockey goalie saves. Found this gold instead.

@@patricelavoie3 cool thanks for the info. I'm an ice hockey goalie so the same does apply, we certainly have more protective gear though.

Why the same clips over and over
Big hits video?
I’m currently working on that video, just takes a lot of time to find clips
Fyeee
I play Ice Goalie in an adult league. These guys are animals with what looks like no pads at all.
ImShmoogle come give it a shot some time if ya want XD
i look at the score board and robert Morris 9 maryland 12 and a week a go a beat maryland 9 to 0
I chose to turn the volume off for this one
I’m a goalie and this makes me hipped!! I can’t spell
Nice if future videos were “cleaner” audio wise so younger goalies could watch. Easy to find the radio version of each of the songs.
Relax grandpa

I haven't really delved into women's lacrosse yet but I'm playing to in this upcoming season. Thanks for the feedback tho, I genuinely appreciate it!
Lacrosse Analytics no problem! And thanks for being so open about it. Haha I didn’t mean to seem rude I just feel that sometimes we’re left out.
