Here is some more info about the Gatsby a truly South African Food.
The delicious sandwich originated in the Cape Flats around four decades ago, and was a cheap and filling meal for families, factory workers and laborers. Over the years, many locals have laid claim to the super sandwich, but without solid proof these stories are mere hearsay. The name of the meal, however, is believed to be inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s famous novel, The Great Gatsby, due to its association with ‘excess’. What we do know is that the gatsby is a cultural symbol of Cape Town, and is best enjoyed with friends and family.

I have a major identity crisis because people are always arguing if I'm coloured because I have a tan skin and talk in an a cape coloured accent but I have white features . My mother is a cape Malay coloured and my father is white so I have no idea what I am and I can't choose to identify myself as coloured because I will be told " no you are white " but if I identify as white they will say " no you are coloured "
This happens all the time so if someone could help identify me as either white or coloured that would be greatly appreciated

It's complex. Racial identities were established to segregate people to make them easier to govern. While it's possible to tell if a person is white or coloured, it's impossible to say at what point a person goes from being white to coloured, or vice-versa.
Your best bet is to identify, if you so choose, with whichever identity you feel comfortable with at a cultural level. So, if feel more at home with coloured culture, identify as such and if you feel more at home with white culture, do the same.
Evolutionary human survival instincts compel us to find what group we belong to, this is why you feel the need to identify with a particular race.

This was awesome when growing up in the 90s but now days I wouldn't advise indulging to much in this heart attack meal..wish Cape Town would take dealing with obesity more seriously especially in schools. There also needs to be a sugar tax. Little education is brought to kids attention in South Africa regarding this issue.
