DIY ATC Tormach 770M EP5 ATC Drive Plate

Welcome, In this video we are going over making the ATC Drive plate that houses the radial and thrust bearings, Stepper motor, Radial proximity sensor, and Enclosers. By far the most complex part to date for me. I broke an 1/2" end mill and not paying attention to my setup notes i drilled and tapped a side wrong.

This mechanical design could easily be adapted for a multitude of machine types such as Grizzly, Precision Mathews, CNC conversions running Mach 3

pretty interesting project you have going on, how much do you think this will end up saving you from the tormach ATC? you can put me down for buying the CAD from you, also do you have a parts list and suppliers all sourced yet?

In total I have almost $800 invested so I would say quite a bit of savings. Of course there is some extra expense items. Tool bits, extra electronic parts, PCB prototypes, etc… Also I have all tools needed to tackle such a project, CNC plasma. Mig and Tig welders. Powder coating, etc. I am currently working on a website to offer items I make be it motorcycles or Tormach. Thanks for the comment!
