This is just one of those pieces I was compelled to play at some point without really questioning why. But I kind of have mixed feelings about Clair de Lune. On the one hand, it is incredibly beautiful and enjoyable to play; on the other hand, it always makes me feel so emotional that it's quite hard to get through. Something about it always cuts right through me. I love the imagery as well, I am a night owl and have always loved the sight of the moon in the night sky. There is something so magical about seeing the glow of moonlight. I think this piece really captures that feeling perfectly.
Thank you:

#debussy #clairdelune #piano
Sounds like a lullaby at first, then grows to become a whole dream.
The shadow in the background is so cool, because you can't really see the strings in the background, so it's like she's playing just air.
I didn't understand what you meant at first but now I see it, yeah pretty cool
Ah, she can manipulate air
Petty trivial details. Watch the music instead
I love your videos, Amy! You are an excelent harpist!
OMG OMG OMG!! VINHETEIROO!!!!
opa vinheteiro você por aqui?
Vai tocar piano cara
Nice to see you drop by to show some love.
LEGEND
Wow... I've never heard Claire de Lune played on the harp but it totally works. The dreamlike way Debussy wrote a lot of his music goes really well with the gentle sound of the harp strings. What you've done is added a layer of beauty to an already gorgeous song, bravo...
GerryBolger well done, that is so eloquent, I couldn't have said it better.
GerryBolger ehhe everything work on harp actually 😅
As a pianist I've been taught that when playing this piece, one should do so as if he was playing the harp, especially when you reach the arpeggios. The harp is a sibling of the piano after all!
It's not a song
Sure you have ... a piano is just a horizontal harp [;- )
PLUCKING BRILLIANT!
Wowwwww. I didn't know it was even possible, this song is rather difficult even on piano.

Nice pun
Nice pun-
The harp is the perfect instrument for this piece.
Clair de lune.
This is where the dreams come from.
That chord at 1:27 is heavenly! Oh, goodness. You play it perfectly. Clockwork precision tempered by delicate passion like a flower trembling as it unfurls!
RebeccaETripp Yes! That was the bit that stood out to me as well!
yes..
Yes ♡♡♡♡
Claire de Lune will always be a song that makes me emotional but this takes it to a whole other level! This sounds so dreamy and decadent and indulgent it's amazing!
I really must learn to trust you as an artist Amy. I saw the title and thought, "heard this so many times" and I have my favorite recording like everyone else. I don't really have the time to listen to Amy cover this tired old classic. But, as soon as you began to play I was drawn in with refreshed ears. I've never realized the deep sense of longing that you bring out in this piece. I love how you pop the bass notes. Most people play this with an airy ethereal feel but your low notes are the reminder that gravity is holding me to the earth-- though longing to float with the moon I'm frustratingly earthbound.
The visuals are great too. I so want to believe those shadows are actually from moonlight, please don't tell me different. :)
Thank-you so much for sharing with the world.
🙄
OneTwentyOver80 honestly same though LMAO
Same me too ♡♡♡♡
@@OneTwentyOver80 Excuse me???
OneTwentyOver80 lmao my thoughts exactly
Claire de Lune played on harp is without doubt the most beautiful version !
I think the celesta version beats it by a tad bit, but this is extremely beautiful
Any, you’re a true artist, giving every piece your unique touch. The harp world needs you - I’m so glad the harp is your chosen instrument!
I agree. Fully! Never mind those, who say anything different.
I agree and wonder about the delicacy of her rendition
I hope you know how much you help people through your music. I sometimes get really anxious about everything but then a new video pops up on my feed and now I feel better than ever. Keep up the amazing work and know you make a real difference.
Alex Jones Thank you so much. I'm glad I can do something to help. :)
Alex Jones Why do you anxious people always feel the need to tell the whole world about it
@Player Taurine: like many other illnesses, there's a stigma related to anxiety. Good on us for talking about it. I find it uplifting that Amy's music is having a positive impact on anyone, regardless of reason.
*+Player Taurine* why do _you_ feel the need to question an irrefutably decent comment at all?
Some people like to say thank you. It costs nothing.
You should try it.
This song is perfect for the harp!
This is such a perfect and unique version of Claire de Lune. The tempo you chose was hypnotic, and I could hear each note separately and softly crystalline. I think this might be my favorite version of one of my favorite pieces. ♥
You literally play every note with meaning, it’s incredible... I’m touched, it made me cry
i really don't understand how anyone could dislike this, it's just pure bliss and so calming...
Possibly the best recording and best recorded version of this piece. Impeccable. Beautiful. Transcendent. I know I'm biased but it really is incredibly moving.
Most likely the best "non-lullaby" lullaby ever composed. 💖😊
I couldn't have put it better myself. Every time I listen to this performance it has a profound emotional effect upon me!
Flawless. It's truly impressive the amount of emotion you can feel from hearing this.
I'm crying and smiling at the same time right now.
The setting was dark, but the brightness from the sound creates such a beautiful harmonics. Truly inspiring
Stunning performance. Clair De Lune was MADE for harp
The tempo is superb. Bravo!
Couldn't agree more
Exactly
So good! Another one to enjoy while the wife and I smile and our baby sleeps. I really ought to pay you for babysitting.
CR Brewer Thanks Charles! Happy to do my bit. :)
CR Brewer
A few notes in, and I knew I'd love how this would work with harp.
*after watching this*
Permanent effect:
your skill in playing all stringed instruments has increased by +25
Bonus effect: all instruments you touch will sound like gold : instrument mastery +30
Healers come in all sorts of ways
The reason I come to enjoy every one of your videos is because when I listen to your playing, I'm not just hearing it. I'm feeling it. When music takes your emotions for a ride, you're doing it right. You do it right every time. Please keep them coming. Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you for playing this. This is one of my two very favourite Debussy compositions. The other being 'La fille aux cheveux de lin' (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair). The piano version of this song is fabulous, but the harp takes it up to another level. You can somewhat visualize the light of the moon in the sound of the harp. You play this so very well with the emotion the piece deserve, it is quite lovely. It is something that can be listened to over and over, and it would be time well spent. I hope, whenever the end comes, that Clair de Lune will be the last thing I will ever hear.
Yes you are right, the clang of the harp can better describe the moonlight beautifully ...
I love 'La fille aux cheveux de lin' as well. Both these pieces played on the harp are divine
jeez I'm having trouble finding the subscribe button behind these tears.
i'm shaking, she's so good i can't breathe
It is the best thing I have heard since a long time.
This was just absolutely mindblowing, such an incredible performance!
i've never seen someone nail that many harmonics in a row... wow
beautiful playing!
You truly are an angel come down from heaven. I have been listening to Clair De Lune for over 40 years, mostly on piano or on synthesizer. However, you play it so magnificently with such depth of feeling and musical accuracy that I swear Claude Debussy himself originally intended it for the harp . Thank you so much for this spectacularly moving performance of one of my all time favourites.
I guess everyone has their own preference of this work. Note, almost every musician regardless of instrument used, plays Debussy piece slower than he did, between 5-7 minutes. Debussy play this work under 4 minutes. I prefer his tempo. Check out video, Debussy plays Debussy.
I cried...
So did I
Unbelievable.
This was mine and my wife's first dance song at our wedding. I wish we had this rendition because it's incredible.
What an incredible musician, with such passion and attention for the performance that makes it so moving. Tears in my eyes, damnit
This song is what loving/liking someone who you know doesn't like you back sounds like.
Omg this actually made me cry. Magnificent!

Pedro Oliveira what's this?
It's like you're not even humannnn 😮 Are you an angel?
They live on the moons of Iego, I think.
GORGEOUS . . . heaven will be like that.
Tonight I have discovered a new, true, heart artist - Ms Amy Turk. Beautiful playing. Such hard work and discipline have brought the rest of us much joy. Thank you Amy.
This is beyond beautiful
These violent delights have violent ends..
What would Debussy think!
She’s fire and powder
Wow! Made my eyes go all watery! Such a beautiful video in every way. Wonderful setting! Without doubt the best recording I've heard of this magical piece. Like you it always makes me quite emotional! It's a such a hard piece, but you play it seemingly effortlessly and with so much emotion. This is true music, it moves people.
Id never heard this marvelous song played on the harp. Its perfect, i love♥
I just imagined myself dancing to this and it was majestic
I'm pretty sure that somebody else said this but I wouldn't mind this being played LIVE at my funeral.. Harp + Clair de Lune = ready for the long "slumber.."
I heard a guitar version of this a minute ago and as exquisitely played as it was, I was convinced only a piano could do it justice. But then I wondered if a harp might do it on its own. And my goodness me. All the sadness, stillness and beauty is here. It's mesmerising.
This gave me a beautiful warm feeling, contentment, joy, peace, like everything is right in the world. Thank you for the beautiful music!
I really can't keep me from listening to this piece of music repeatedly and at very high volume with my hi-fi ! Your interpretation is so emotional, delicate and powerful at the same time that it blows my mind and give me shivers...thanks for you talent and your generosity! Ciao from Napoli
I want a hi-fi… not for bombing bass, but for those kind of music.
Beautiful!
This reminds me of the quote from the Bible...And the Angels walked the Earth.
One of my late mother's favorites as well.
The 'harmonic' octaves on the intro are such a beautiful prelude to the crisp rendition...this is the one!🥰
I recently heard it on the piano, but you and your harp sound much better. I see your face of pleasure playing and I love it. The score is not easy to read, but you do not need to read it because you already have it in your soul. Congratulations, I loved your delicate performance.
I admire you, by the time and job that you dedicate to music.
Best "goodnight" song ever.
this song is my childhood, hearing it on such a wonderful instrument makes me so happy
Debussy would have changed the recommended instrument to harp if he had youtube, and Amy Turk back then. This is now my favorite version of this song. I love how you kept the innocent, clumsy feeling to the song. Masterfully played. Bravo!
@@jeremiah3355 only you can prevent swypeos
This made me cry in 30 seconds. Felt like me soul was just taken away to a dream. Felt like you played my heart strings along with the harp's. I feel really touched by this. Thank you 💖.
Amy Turk is an angel. Period.
There is beauty here.
Magnificent. Performed with mastery.
Breathtakingly beautiful. Impeccable timing and grace. Bravo!
I just listened to this 3 times in a row. Each time I was moved to near tears at parts. Incredible talent and interpretation. It's like being wrapped in a warm blanket made of music. That's the only way I can describe it.
To fall asleep at the "moonlight" in a moment of grace with a fairy who plays the harp 💖
pulls at my heart strings
Wonderful interpretation of this piece! The tempo feels like honey and the space you give to each part are like sighs and sweet whispers! Thank you for giving such a delightful moment playing your harp for us.
This is my favourite classical music piece. Beautifully played.
You are the most beautiful player in the universe. The sounds in your fingers are like flowers on the sea. Thank you for these moments with classic and popular music. Congratulations. I'm so glad to ear you. Thank you so much.
Nobody's even close..
A league of your own .
I'm a huge Claude Debussy fan, and this rendition is exquisite. Brought me to tears, actually.
WOW! BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for that BLESSING to my ears!
by far the best interpretation I've heard. I've never heard it played perfectly before
My all time favorite classical music piece. You played it with such beauty and feeling....I am in tears.
Too much beauty to bear. You are proof of the divinity in all of us.
I see mothers with their newborns when I close my eyes and listen.....wow animal Moms and human ones too. This is some healing music Amy! thank you
Always love to see and hear Amy❤️ playing her harp. You can see the love she has for her instrument and it shows in her playing.
That's fantastic.
What an amazing rendition of this lovely piece from Debussy! You're a fabulous harp player
When ever i need a mental pick-me-up i come looking for your interpretations, and sure enough you always come through for me. So Thank You!
Absolutely lovely
Appause. Outstanding performance, and Claire de Lune seems to work beautifully on the Harp, but it makes sense really. thank you
Like plucking on the strings of my heart 💜, another wonderful and magical performance. Bravo 👏 and a warmest thank you for bringing a moment of exquisite joy into my life. I imagine this is what Heaven and Ecstasy are. Yet another Excellent performance. ❤️🙏
I never tought I would lose track of time seeing/hearing harp videos for so long.. the amount of work you must have put onto that harp.. Beautiful!
Magnificent! ...as usual ;-)
Kudos to the video crew, too. The shadows really played well into this.
Cheers!
Wow.... Standing ovation...
The passion in that that strum
I could feel the strings in my soul
Those pianissimo parts towards the end
Such beautiful sounds, wonderful control.. They set the hear at ease like nothing else.
Exactly what i've imagine it would sound's like, heavenly!
Chills.... As better as on piano. Excellent playing.
Absolutely everything about this is gorgeous, but the bass notes in this are absolutely divine. This is one of those pieces you hear a million times, but your interpretation brought tears to my eyes. There's such a melancholy undertone in your rendition.
Beautiful. First remember hearing this in the movie Frankie and Johnny
Beautiful song
my favorite song in the universe. you make a whole orchestra on that one harp. joy.
I need this on a continual loop and fed directly into my brain.
Thank you for the calmness in this madness. Keep making beautiful music.
Amy Turk, you're an amazing artist. I can hear your perfectly shaped phrases, astonishing control of dynamics, precise control of fingers strength for the perfect articulation. . You are truly a master of your hard earned craft.
I^m brazilian and this sound perfect,lovely..thanks
One of the best harp arrangements I have seen for this piece Im impressed with your musicality
I appreciate that you're playing this to your own beat. A song like this isn't supposed to be mechanical. It's telling a story, and the player is making their own when they play it the way they feel it.
One of my favorites. Works so well on the harp. Simply beautiful. 🙏
Thank you for this recording. You have created a resting place for the soul here.
Have had this song playing in my head repeatedly for the last few days and wondered if you had a cover. Really enjoyed the zelda pieces also, bravo!
This deserves more likes.
the harmonic notes at the beggining ♥
