Thank you so much for this video! I came on here specifically hoping you’d have this exact video. I plan on making a video for my first marathon at Disney 2023!
This is awesome. Thank you! I run and vlog early morning and really struggle to get good usable footage. Thanks for throwing it together. So cool seeing from a visually impaired runner too.
When you post a video we get to see a professionally produced product. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on the equipment choices available to all of us.
Hi, I was about to pull the trigger on an X3 but came across a new in box X2 for a bargain. Anyways, just curious about the clip @9:07; is there normally that much shaking? Wondering because all the Insta360 footage I’ve seen were completely, 100%, rock solid, even the camera was being moved around much more vigorously. Also wondering whether the X2 has a “horizon lock” mode. Thanks!
Hi Gerald. I like the way the camera, (unless it is your editing), takes the extension out of the video. It is funny to still see you gripping air and a the mystery shadow, but it really is cool.
Jason... it's one of the reason's I bought the one x2. i360 is able to remove the extension poles (I have the shorter one) from it's line of cameras. Kind of have to suspend your disbelief a bit... yes ~ you can see I'm holding "something!" LOL It was one of the things I first noticed in Kofuzi's videos ... and had to investigate .. and finally found these 360 cameras.
Gerald (I may be wrong it’s been awhile since I was doing marketing videos for products) wasn’t there a way in premier pro to stabilize videos through software that are imported in? I seem to remember doing this with some robot videos in the premier pro before cc. Nice video I appreciate the coverage as I have been thinking of buying another GoPro to cover Kieran when he is playing hockey as a goalie in the nets.
Yes. I use Warp Stabilization all of the time ... but it is clunky and if you have to us eit on long, large clips ~ it can take forever. It's why I mentioned turning Hypersmooth off ... because you may be better served in post... BUT .. and a huge but ~ if you forget to turn off the internal stabilization, you're left with that crazy partially stabilized video and the warp stabilization inside Premiere Pro look s awful. :(
@@RezRuns I've only used it a couple of times myself but I think the reason it didn't take me as long is that I would chop down the raw footage I was going to use then use the warp stabilization. I do agree I wasn't truly happy with the end result but also figured it was due to that I wasn't using a 4k recorder and the more pixels may have improved the end result guess not lol. Have fun in New York for the marathon I'm sure you will be missed here at the Wine and Dine.
Thanks for the info! I've been struggling trying to figure out how to get started with vlogs and capturing video for my own memories. I so want to get a GoPro, but I'm not sure if it is worth the cost, vs a more budget friendly camera. I'd love your thoughts on that dilemma.
@@RezRuns hope you are well! It's been awhile. I ended up buying a Hero 10 when the price dropped a bit. I'll have it at Princess Half this weekend. Hope to see you there.
@@roywirtz9093 ... I am well. I've been a bit AWOL because my main editing/viewing computer bit the dust right before Christmas. I'm waiting for a new one to be made (darn Pandemic LOL :P ) Wish I could use a smartphone or tablet like everyone else. I will be running the 10K Princess Weekend... and Volunteering Half Marathon morning... handing out Bonus medals. Hope to see you there. :)
Two Course Challenge? Make sure you have enough batteries. Probably wont need as many as Marathon Weekend when the cold saps the battery power. Have fun at Wine & Dine.
You need to adjust the shutter speed in the gopro. It is usually needed at least 4x fps, for example 4k/24fps needs 1/96th of a second shutter speed for having good hypersmooth. In some cases it is ok to use 2x value though.
I totally agree with you! However, this is a running video ... most of us who are running in the early morning hours during a race ... cannot stop to fiddle with the shutter settigns. I'm sure you can appreciate this ... If you're trying to maintain a pace or time ... you can't stop! Now ... for general use in low light ~ Yes ... I would definitely play with the settings ... shutter speed, ISO ... EV .... you name it. If you mess with these in low light and forget to change them as the sun comes up... you're video is wrecked.
@@RezRuns The nice thing about the GoPro though is you can take time before a race and setup different presets for different conditions. You could have a preset setup to use for no light, one for lowlight, and one for full light. Then it’s as easy as tapping a preset you made and hitting record. I think the GoPro allows up to like 10 presets or something.
Hi! I love your videos and you have inspired me to film while running. What setting do you use on your gimbal? I'm having trouble with the micro pan movements that make it look jittery.
I didn't use a gimbal for this video.. this was just internal stabilization. When I do use a gimbal... I'm pretty basic... you will have three settings I believe ~ full lock (which means the camera always points in the same direction,) direction lock (which allows for a bit of up and down movement or tilt,) and action mode (which lets the camera move up and down/tilt or pan left and right ... slowly ~ while staying somewhat steady.) I tend to go with one of the last two ... and I don't fumble with the gimbal a lot during my running. It's just too much to keep tracxk of LOL :P I hope this helps. (I am, by no means, an expert on any of this....)
For Vlogging ... I would go with GoPro 10! My comparison was for running or activities in the dark or in low light. GP 10 is much better when it comes to just walking around and talking and that "Show and Tell" kind of stuff. I hope this helps.
at 5:37 when i saw the footage.. I mean GoPro is crap on low light but come oooon :)) Jeez, still DJI fan at the low light part. Those pixels are big as your head..
I'm not a videographer, but I still find it interesting to hear you talk about this "behind-the-scenes" issue. I don't see a "stick" for the new camera to attach to when you're running. It looks like it is floating several feet from you. How is that effect achieved?
Both are unusable in low light, although I agree the 360x2 does stabilize the footage, it is so noisy it is still un-useable. In decent light the GoPro is much better, but if you need the 360 footage, this is really apples to oranges. In low light the DJI Pocket 2 is actually OK, and the GoPro on a gimbal is also decent, but honestly the iPhone 13's wide camera, not ultra-wide, is the best small camera in low light and has optical stabilization.
It's the GoPro Shorty ... small enough "extension" it's not considered a selfie stick... but just a handle. It only extends to about 9 inches... I also bought a knock off on Amazon that I like much better.

A lot of "reviewers" are recommending the Hero 8. It's got most of the same features... it's slightly smaller and costs less.

360 one x also shoots regular shots on single lens or dual. also 3 crop options.
I am totally confused between gopro 10 and insta360 x2 for vlogging can u please suggest me which is best

360 cameras blend the views from each lens. The effect ignores the narrow width of the camera and therefore the stick doesn't show on the recording
Great review thanks

great comparison. tx
great videos keep in touch
Purchased one x2 after watching this video .
ones stabilization makes it unusable. The other ones exported quality makes it unusable
Go Rez Go. A couple more sleeps to NYC.
