Wow...this feed came across me today. I was 1 of the 2 back up singer in this concert. Sara and I both were and recorded w/John. Talk about INSANELY talented musicians. What a blast from the past! It was so stinken hot that day. We were ALL melting...
Hi Sheryl Ashton, I'm from Argentina and it's great to hear from you. Do you have any material from you or from that time that you participated that I can continue listening to? I'm a fan of John Elephant and his productions but there is little information about what is out there.
Yes, David Robbins from X-Sinner sang the original vocals on the studio album, but John and Dino had to assemble a group of musicians who could pull off the songs live. I was actually IN THE CROWD at this festival (Cornerstone 1991). As far as I know, this is the one and only time Mastedon performed live (could be wrong). I assure you, it was amazing. One of my fondest memories of my early twenties to this day.
I was at the performance at Cornerstone 91 as well - amazing show. This show, however, was at Magic Mountain. There is footage on UA-cam too. ua-cam.com/video/CZZUgl5fbjk/v-deo.html

Wow. This brings back memories. I can believe it's been 32 years since that album came out.

Superb!!! But didn't the first X-Sinner vocalist sing this one for the record?
Yes
👏👏🤙🤙
Sure looks like you had fun back then. :-)
Guitar wise reminiscent to Zach Wilde of Ozzy Osborne and their song “Miracle Man”.
Good singing, but I like David Robbins' initial version better (the one on the CD).
The drummer is playing open handed
The way ALL drummer should!
John Elefante is a great vocalist but this song belongs to Dave Robbins... although John wrote the song.
Keyboard player went on to give dance lessons I bet.
I'd love to here him sing a song and not perform a production. Amazing voice!
A bit sad JE must so often sing old Kansas hits. This here is his own music.
