I really admire the voice actress of Lilith. She did a fantastic job.
I was thinking the same thing. Her voice is so mellow and calming, but there’s so much power in it as well. 💗

She lacks any authentic facial expression.
Imagine how much better this story would have been if the writing of D3 didn't set Lilith up to be a stereotypical evil. She pretended to love inarius but all she wanted was to have puppets of her own.
Before d3, her ambitions were vague, and it could just as well been that she genuinely liked Inarius and wanted a world to escape the eternal conflict the same as Inarius, while still being the daughter of hatred with the negative sides that might bring along. That would have made this shallow story much better than their "reunion" being an anticlimactic dialogue with inarius dying in the end. Inarius being imprisoned by her father, him being fuck all angry at both heaven and hell when he figures out heaven let him be taken, realizing he was misled by heaven into hating lilith and their children etc etc.. so Lilith and Inarius set aside their differences with now powerful children in order to burn down both heaven and hell. That way we might have kept a legendary rathma instead of him being killed off just for a key in a mediocre cutscene, but the f-tier writers at blizzard apparently think "someone important died, that means this has impact".
Nevermind the fact that now "death" doesn't really mean anything as everything we thought we killed or banished can be brought back. Inarius? Turned into goop but technically just banished as the greater evils were.
It's essentially saying Heaven will never act except to damn itself. There's no repercussions for the evils dying while the angels are just easily corrupted. I mean I hate to say it but the Diablo universe according to their lore is so screwed the only thing really saving them is hell fighting itself?
I'm glad this game was a hard pass because the story is just dumb.

@@HooDooBrown true. Diablo had always had a dumb story though. Act 1 looked as if D4 may break that tradition but it didnt. Alright. Story is before the game essentially so i dont care too much. Will probably never play the campaign again.

The only game where story was somewhat interesting was in Diablo 1. Diablo 2 had better game mechanics and has nostalgia, but in terms of a story it was alright.

Lilith is a masterpiece of character, and the final result is speechless. Elias too is a magnificent combination, and both the voice actors realized perfection. Deep, charismatic and intriguing. I would have liked blizzard to allow a choice, if to imprison mephisto or to allow lilith ascendancy, given the church of light uselessness. Personally, Lilith is right, and is a character that should certainly take the lead in the diablo franchise.
Defeat and turn prime evil into stones, bring that around, somehow struk that stones into someone head, free prime evil roaming around, repeat.
Yea, lillith didn't "release" mephisto in this scene she enters the hell gate and "senses" her father. Maybe if somebody payed attention to the story ( cough cough modern diablo fans) you would not be confused on what the cutscenes are telling you

It's exactly like diablo 3, just with darker overlay. People like you want to believe it something different. I give it a month or two, and you gonna bash this game like everyone else. Like it was with Diablo 3.
D4 is childish in terms of the story.

I'll give month or two untill youtubers start bash the game, and these people who don't want the aknowledge what i'm saying now, would start repeating the youtuber's opinion.

@@dim_gk I think that diablo and nephelim from diablo 3 are the most powerful
@@dim_gk they are diferent kinda, for example, Mephisto is smarter then Baal and Diablo, Baal is stonger in Magic and Sorcery, and Diablo is more a brute force kinda strong. Like Diablo is a tank, Baal a magic caster dps, and Mephisto a specialist.

@@serronserron1320 i dont think so, i think Mephisto is the more cunning one, but we get to see alot more of Diablo in the games since he is the "main" bad guy, the others only apear once in Diablo 2 for a single act each.
All of this it was a plan to get free from hell :D by Mephisto :D so guys the next expension set would be with Mephisto as main Villain :D

To be fair, Mephisto does need some screentime, but I am not sure if we need the Dark Wanderer 2.0 drama. Maybe he can't think outside the box like Diablo (or maybe writers can't) and prefers to stick to the tricks, which already worked. The plot of D2 was actually his plan, though he got killed off relatively early.

They should’ve had Lilith win and taken Mephisto’s essence. The 3 prime evils story arc is played out and boring after Diablo 1-3. Way more interesting if the narrative moved into new uncharted territory with Uber Lilith and a presumably ruined post D3 heaven.
Big agree from me there, really dissapointed that basically nothing changed by the end of the game. Lilith was a very interesting concept.

You do realize that no matter who becomes the end boss the ending is the same right? Also, lilith is not interesting at all. It would of been more interesting for Inarius to go fully insane and burn all creation (hell, heaven and sanctuary), and us as nephs beat and recreate our race back to its prime therefore recreating a whole race of mini Anutathmat.

I mean they never really died , the black soulstone was shattered into pieces separating them , it make sense for them to come back . I understand your felling , i hope if they bring them back there will be some differences . I have a feeling Inarius is not really dead and will return maybe , i always expected him to be expansion material anyway .
Can the Prime Evils be defeated truly? You have to remember this conflict between the Prime Evils and Angels was going on for eons. That's basic lore of the whole series. Eons is a pretty long time and obviously the worst conflicts have the strongest antagonists.

Elias is the best character conceptually, design-wise and story-wise. The opening cinematic featuring him was what "sold" us Diablo 4. He deserves much more than his untimely death. His skills/spells were so underwhelming, it was way too easy beating him. His immortality secret should *NOT* have been discovered in Diablo 4. He should have vanished in dusts upon losing that final fight only to re-appear in epilogue to scheme a new unholy cosmic / inter-dimensional war on resurrecting villains/antagonists from the previous Diablo universe (ie: manipulating the time-space continuum). Blizzard could have done so much with his character. What a shame. What a loss.

Gotta say...so far this is the most Diablo-less Diablo game I have seen so far....
the expansions will flesh that out. this is just the first part of the story. if you remember from d3 prime evils can never truly b destroyed just sent back to hell when thy die, diablo, Baal and mephisto are in a weakened state RN. with mephisto in the new soulstone im sure his plan is to bring theee other primes back to sanctuary.

Yes but that was likely 50 years previous. This was a different soulstone that was used to contain a different demon. All smashing a soul stone does is return the essence to hell for them to reform.
@@Kmmlc yeah, isn't it explained that the Evils cannot be killed? only banished back to hell.
@@Flamemast18 Their essence can be absorbed as what happened in Diablo 3, but if the being holding that essence dies, it goes back to hell to reform the Prime and Lesser Evils. The thing is that so far it hasn't been a demon that has done it, only a half or less demon (I figure the wanderer was still human he just helped pass on Diablo's essence and powers to Leah and so she was still human also). So Mephisto may have been right to fear Lilith if she could not only absorb but permanently incorporate his essence. I doubt this is the case though since the Lesser Evil's at least would have already been absorbed this way by the Prime Evil's.
