Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?
No fun/party being the least favorite on this album is crazyyy, that song gives me chills everytime
THATS WHAT IM SAYINNNNN
I gasped!!!!! it's maybe in my top 3 on the album its so good even if the pacing is odd
I JUDGE ALBUMS BY THE COVER AND TITLE AND I LOVE BOTH
@@timeforproblems MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE BETTER JUDGMENT OF HUMOUR
@@timeforproblems IM GOOD IM PUMPED ABOUT HOW MUCH I LIKE THE COVER AND TITLE AND YOU HERE KILLING THE VIBE
@@timeforproblems ratio 🙀🙀
me discovered Weyes Blood because of that underwater album cover
its booty
Between this album having a song titled rat, rat saw god by Wednesday, yves tumor having a song called lovely sewer, and Squid saying rats were an inspiration for making O Monolith, rats seem to be the key to making fantastic music in 2023
Rats and worms rise up!
It's True!
2023 year of the Rat!
6ix9ine has indeed been making some brilliant music recently
everywhere i come there is a rat
She was a National Youth Poet Laureate. Her penmanship is amazing.
Thanks for sharing. Super excited to check her out
Penmanship means the aesthetic skill of writing by hand, not poetic writing ability
@Matt Jones Indeed it does. Gonna leave it because meh, but yeah, mb.
And her eponymous calligraphy is pragmatic
so was Amanda Gorman and she's dogshit terrible.
That's why I love this channel. I don't have the time neither the sources to find artists like that. Thank you Anthony for giving me the opportunity to discover so much wonderful music.
I found this on the radio.
If No Fun / Party was your LEAST favourite track and it's taking me aback, I can't wait to hear what the rest of the album sounds like
That's my favorite track on the album I was so shocked he didn't like it that much
Every year and watch all your reviews, even if they have some genres that I don’t like or that I’m not very familiar with. And every year I discover some incredible things, as happened with this album.
Awesome and strong writing also a some beautiful songs. I really love the album.
Thank you, Anthony, for your great work and let me discover some jewels.
2023 is the year of the yellow flannel. Melon's washing machine has been working overtime to let us know these album's slap. Love to see it.
Saw this album on Bandcamp’s website when I was looking into the platform, and was hooked at once. I personally feel like I’d appreciate if the album was more sonically varied, but perhaps that’s just because I haven’t spent enough time with the album to appreciate the distinct qualities of each of the songs. Now that I listen to No Fun / Party once more, I will admit that the structure is quite choppy, but the lyrics are outstanding and really get me in the feels more than the other tracks on the record. Still, Kara’s songwriting is incredible, and I can’t believe this is her *debut* album. So so excited to see what we hear from her in the future, and until then, I’ll be streaming this album like hell. Great review as per usual!!
W profile pic…songs is a masterpiece
glad to see her getting more recognition, she deserves her flowers.
this is the first time I've heard Anthony mention Nnamdï. That's a really interesting artist that more people should check out. He's quite eclectic and unique.
Nnamdï’s brilliant, idk who else could have released BRAT and Krazy Karl in the same year. Found Anjimile through him too, love both of their works
This album is incredible and well worth the listen. I'm glad Anthony agrees!
I am so glad you reviewed this quickly. I stumbled upon this album last week and was also very impressed. Great to have a new artist to follow.
One of the most beautiful albums I've heard in years, maybe one of the most I've ever heard
I didn’t expect to love this album as much as I did
I gave it a light 9 out of 10
damn the green screen looks really good in this video
Listened to Lily when you mentioned it in the track roundup and was really blown away. Started out feeling like it was good, solid folk track and was mesmerized by the end. Defo want to pick this album up
the delivery at the end of that song is something else, gorgeous
Stunning debut. Went directly on my top-of-the-year list after I discovered it last week. big up!
Who does the Earth give us ridge wallets to buy?
Thank you for introducing me to this album. This is easily one of the best I've heard in a long time and have had it on repeat for the past two weeks. She reminds me of Meshell Ndegeocello.
turn the 8 upside down, it’s a 9 now
What a fantastic album. The last part of why does the earth give us people to love is just so emotional and gut wrenching.
I’m glad to see that now more people will give this album the attention it deserves!!! Amazing work!
Subtle obscure music fan flex
Wow you’re so special!!! 🤩
@@soulless770 how is this even remotely a flex, she isn’t very big so fans would ofc be excited about a good review
I'm gonna play it in the background while I pay attention to something else. Should that count for giving it the attention it deserves? Maybe 1/3 attention at best? Doesn't it deserve better, though? So, even by listening, I'm still letting it down. I probably won't live up to what this record requires, but that's cool.
The barking at the beginning caught me off guard 😂.
I love that you give attention to obscure artists. Nice review Anthony.
this album is so excellent and devastating and it takes one by surprise with laughter and tears and ridiculous lyricism!!! saw her play in Chicago and her voice is just as pure, heartfelt, and unique in person.
I was really looking forward to this album but I really didn’t think it would be as amazing as it was and I had high expectations. It’s probably a 10 for me.
I was hoping you wouldn’t miss this one! It’s so fucking good and hopefully inspiring to other artists.
This record reminded me of my two favorites Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley; Nick with the lush arrangements of Five Leaves Left, the groove and instrumentation of Bryter Layter and the intimate, gut wrenching emotion of Pink Moon. For Jeff, the vocal range, profound lyricism and guitar work!
She’s in a league of her own of course and I can’t wait to hear more 🙌🏽
Idgaf if he don't like Jeff lmao 😂 @@moth821
This album is incredible and ver voice is so soothing
First Track Totally Gives Daniel Johnston Vibes
Aye melon, thanks for the vid! Just wanted to say I love your music recommendations
I actually adore dickhead blues so much, it feels like a niche vibe that everyone knows but I don’t think I’ve ever called it dickhead blues… until now
Did not expect you to review this in the slightest lol cool he fw it though, one of the best of the year for sure
Anthony this is not the Worm
Give him a while to power up the Worm meter
@@FabulousResults he needs to upgrade his worm meter
Finally Fantano accepted that Lil Dicky's Earth is the greatest song of all time, better late than ever.
Chamber folk 😯 definitely checking out
yeah this is a 10 for me. can't remember the last time i've been this moved by an album.
Surprised Anthony hasn’t reviewed the new Raye album. I’m assuming he’d give it a 6, but the album is still worth talking about
This is 9/10 and probably 10/10 for me, very emotional and soft and lovely
honestly… it’s growing on me after every listen
Sir HMLTD album review when
I literally just clicked on this review because I loved the title but I’m so glad I did
thank you for the rec
Also one of my favorite artists, Macie Stewart, contributed strings to the record
Review the new Black Thought album please and thank you. It's phenomenal.
"lily" Is absolutely gorgeous, simply wowed me
interested to hear your thought on the new King Tuff LP "Smalltown Stardust" love the content!
HMLTD review next!
Thanks Anthony! My opinion that I already formed was correct 👏
“There is endearing camp” wtf does that mean
This is the correct rating for such an awesome debut. But as many of you mentioned before, I don't get that No Fun/ Party is Anthony's least favourite, ...this was the song to pull me in, and I guess it has a proper video for a reason... to allure a greater audience, which it obviously did.
Title track on this album hit pretty hard, my mom passed 10 years ago from leukemia and that line about people getting diseases and dying just got me.
Hers or The Smile’s record will probably be my favourite of 2023
Found out about her from Dickhead Blues and loved it.
I'm very excited to listen to this
She deserves to be better known and this fair review will certainly help.
title track made me cry so bad
Alright, time for 'Hope' next!
Oh hey just saw this on Bandcamp this morning. Rad.
Damn OK those lyrics you broke down immediately caught my interest.
Just bought this yesterday on Bandcamp.
How the hell did I manage to be contemporary?!
finally some Chicago reviews
Dickhead Blues is one of the best songs of the year.
Great album review.
00:00 me when watch album cover art
no fun/party in least fav IS WILD
I was literally just listening to this album last night
Awesome video! I was gonna give it a listen but now I don’t have to 🙏 thank you melon man
Will you review the new Depeche Mode record?
It really is amazing
I think I really need to listen to Kara Jackson.
Eyyy!! We agree on something this year!
Do you think you could review “YOUNG, Old, People” by artist VHSSWAGGA?
I just checked it out; actually not bad at all
You should review sen morimotos self titled lp!
We'll get another 10 one of these days I can feel it
Gotta be the most 9s ever so far this year
thanks for putting me on Tony 💕💕
Hope Fantano listens to the new Jimmy album
Are gonna review hmltd?
Are you reviewing the new J Puck song ?
discovered many great artists through melon, cant wait to check her out
I’m always wary lol. Whenever Anthony gives an album an 8 through 10, 50% chance I’m either going to love it or hate it. Personally I didn’t like this album at all.
YES !!!
Where's the hmltd review?
Thank u 4 showing me another Banger xxx
We need an "Exotico" by Temples album review!
Anyone know if he's gonna do the new Luke Combs album
This might be one of the best albums I’ve ever heard
Beautiful album
thats quite an intro
HOLY SHIT FANTANO IS REVIEWING KARA YESSSS
Listened to this album last night, love it!
I absolutely can't believe your least favorite track is NO FUN / PARTY. it's incredible and one of if not my favourite song on the album.
Review Karkaza’s new album “Let It Rise”

Still waiting for the Feist 'Multitudes' review
