Anyway of tracking this route mate, the change of scenery looks lovely,
I done grizedale yesterday the whole place was under 6” of wet slippy leaves it was like ice skating without the skates 🤣

The routes on my Komoot, start and finish at Broughton wood 😁 most of this route is solid but there were some boggy bits

Looked a good ride with some technical stuff to keep things spicy. Got a ride planned next weekend for Park Head Road and Walna Scar. I'm really looking forward to that one, I've never ridden either so may be a bit of an eye opener...

@@nutsaboutmints1701 that will be very similar to what's here.... We went half way up Walna then back to Natty bridge and Broughton wood ..I've always been right over Walna for the full descent to Coniston tho ..I had passed my endurance point yesterday and to add to it I didn't have sharp focus without my glasses ... Too unfit and nowhere near as fast as Mark and Max lol .... Park head roads always good .huge puddle just before Seathwaite that I've never seen before although both times I've done it it's been 25 plus degrees scorching days in summer ..Walna climbs fun you'll enjoy it all

Great edit Bob, don’t know what that dude in the blue coat was doing, looks out of his depth 😂 my last descent was a mess, very badly damaged with upturned trees and water erosion, large sections were unridable, I’ll do your route next time 🙌🏻

@ found and followed you earlier on Komoot (Mark as well).
My last descent was off a little lump named Barrow, down into Duddon Bridge, it used to be a lovely narrow rocky chute, 80% gone now ☹️.

@@MiddleageMTBer yes I can see that route now and you will have done that ORPA from Ulpha like we chatted about. I've only done most of the legal motorised routes over near Duddon bridge , Bank End and Bootle fell etc on the trail bike so far so most of yesterday was new to me other than Park head road and Walna scar

@ ideally I’d like to ascend Black Combe from Ulpha/Bigert Mire and descend off into Wicham but I’ve not managed to find a decent enough track to follow, I’ll have to do it the old way and dust off the OS map.

@@MiddleageMTBer if you use bing maps online and go to top right and choose OS maps you get the landranger 1 :25000 very handy for route planning if you dont have the paper map just zoom in and i tend to open komoot to plot and cross reference with the O S

@kryten1021 That’s got to be your best video in ages pal, the single track looks amazing even if it’s wet and scenery is stunning, absolute respect to you guys for freeing that Ewe, it would’ve been a awful slow death for the poor thing, I know lots of mountain bikers don’t like sheep and in all fairness I’ve had a few descents spoiled by them but I’ve had more spoiled by walkers especially ones with dogs running loose, it’s a shame we can’t tie them to fences but it’d be against their human rights 🤣🤣

@@yorkneytrailrider1751 glad you enjoyed it ...there were so many gnarly descents my arms and wrists were wrecked .Mark and Max always encourage me on which helps a lot..most of the gnarly sections were my first time down them so once I lost touch with whoever was in front it was all down to my poor line choices. By the time we climbed Walna scar I couldn't see out of my glasses and put them in my bag which left me struggling without a sharp focus and then part way down I just had to slow down even further as my arms and wrists had had enough by then .... The rear tyre after it's two flats has stayed up so I've treated it to another 100cc of fluid ;-) the sheep was well and truly entangled it was fighting at first but finally it decided we were trying to help and relaxed enough to let us free it lol .... International rescue .... Yep descents stopped by sheep and dogs are annoying sheep are understandably stupid by nature the loose dogs untrained dogs that won't obey owners commands I tend to favour the thinking it's the owners that are at fault

The joys of being a glasses wearer eh ☹️ absolutely right about dog owners mate, sheep aren’t completely stupid when you consider “hefting” 😉
