@cuckoo_is_singing Where did culture, morals, values, ethics come from? Without religion showing what is right or wrong, atheists would be committing cold-blooded crimes in broad daylight today. As of now, you do not break the laws and those laws directly came into existence only through religions, like it or not.

God's blessings to you William and to your family. Pray for your family in Iran, God is good, and He does great things. He protected you from that hatred since you were a child and called you to Him for a reason. I'm so happy you shared your story, I pray it reaches many who will be led to God because of it.

I know that The Bible is God's Word.
Thank you for sharing your testimony, and like Mosab Yousef, exposing the truth about Islam.
There is great power in meditating on, praying and proclaiming God's Word. Even tho' King David wrote most of Tehillim, he did so by The Spirit of The Lord.
Perhaps you have already learnt this.
God speaks His Word to all who will seek Him.
    Tehillim 34:5
    I sought Adonai, and He answered me;
He rescued me from everything I feared.

11:50 I think it's very important to clarify for those who are not familiar with the Akeidat Yitzchak (Binding of Isaac) that Abraham didn't actually sacrifice his son. He was commanded by G-d to do so, and because it was a commandment from G-d, He was fully committed to carrying it out. Just when he was about to complete the act, G-d (or maybe it was an angel sent by G-d - I don't remember what I was taught lol) cried out "STOP!" That's when Abraham was told that it was a test to measure how committed he was in his trust in G-d.

William is an amazing person. What incredible strength! We are so lucky that he has joined us. William has a much greater understanding of Judaism than Yakov Langer. Yakov said that if a Jewish son left Judaism, "there wouldn't be as much violence..." Huh?.... Frankly I've never heard of any Jewish parent being violent towards a Jewish son or daughter that left Judaism. Violence against a child or adult son or daughter is not prescribed in Judaism, while it is in Islam. Violence in Islam is not only common, it is prescribed. Questioning aspects of faith or practice is common and even encouraged in Judaism; in Islam it is prohibited and punished violently when a Muslim questions anything about the faith. In Judaism, we are instructed not to be joyful at the death of our enemies since they are also Hashem's creations. In Islam, Muslims are instructed to kill, gRape and enslave non-Muslims, to see them as enemies just because they are not Muslims and of course to celebrate the death of non-Muslims. Yakov is not aware of this -- which at this point is astounding. Honor killings are common in Islam, in Judaism, such things are unheard of because it is deemed out and out murder. I hope that one day Yakov becomes aware of this.

What a hateful , ignorant and categorically false comment. Islam absolutely does not sanction violence, rape or any of the filthy things you in your own mind associate with a religion you clearly know nothing about.
In the vast majority of Muslim majority countries, any parent that abuses their children (whatever the reason) can be punished to the full extent of the law for doing so.
"That is why We ordained for the Children of Israel that whoever takes a life-unless as a punishment for murder or mischief in the land-it will be as if they killed all of humanity; and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity". -surat al-maidah (verse 32) Qur'an
" Allah does not forbid you from treating those who do not fight you on your faith, nor have they driven you out of your homes, with benevolence and equity" - Qur'an (60:8)
“You will not enter Paradise until you believe and you will not believe until you love each other. Shall I show you something that, if you did, you would love each other? Spread peace among yourselves.” -prophet Muhammad (sahih al-bukhari book)

I am also a convert. I agree about keeping Shabbat. I also must say that the difference between other religions and Judiasm is that other religions want to force or convince people to believe in what they teach. They think that the more people who believe what they do the better. Judiasm want quality, you have to work for what you have. Also, Judiasm wants people to ask questions and find answers. Judiasm is lodical. other religions don't want people to ask questions. I love that we can continue learning forever, beyond the outside of the torah ideas to the inside combinations of G-ds attributes and gifts as well.Thank G-d for everything!!!

It is an amazing story, but it’s even more amazing the way William was telling us about it. The highlight of this story is the spiritual and intellectual guidance he found inside of himself which led him through this dangerous and perilous way. Especially impressive is his restrained wise manner to present horrible sides of his former life. Thank you , William!

I could be worried as a parent but I know God cares for him more than me. Just like the young William there, we pray for all you people who are struggling to find the truth, the purpose of their existence. May God guide them. In Jesus name Amen.

@@laurenshanahan6652 That is incorrect. There is a Messiah in every generation (check out psalms). There have been several notable Messiahs, King David being one and Joseph being another. Elijah, Melchizadek, Enoch and so on.
The point is that the Messiah of _this_ generation has not been revealed - _yet._
Jesus may have been the Messiah of _his_ generation and certainly made an impact on the world, mostly the Goyim though (non Jews). Given that Jesus was Jewish (born to a Jewish woman) and his Bible was the Torah (pentetuch), Nevim (prophets) and Ketuvim (scrolls) he was professing Judaism as described in the "old" testament. Sadly, no original manuscript from Jesus himself or his followers exists, no the legitimacy of "new testament" scriptures is subject to the interpretation of the Greek scribes and Romans who translated and dispersed their versions/understanding.
To characterise Jesus's teachings as "Know and love God, and love your neighbour as yourself" is straight out of Judaism, not original to Christianity.
The meta narrative of sacrifice is a powerful story, but not part of Jewish lore. That said, the Midrash is full of powerful allegorical stories, with no intention to pretend they were factual.

William, I find your story and journey so fascinating and beautiful. It is clear without question that you were born with a Jewish Neshama and Hashem has lead you to home. I hope you find the best place to settle very soon. Telling your story to others is a form of Shlichut because you are inspiring those that question, and you are strengthening the Imuna of those that are coming closer. If you with your beginnings can come to the light then so many others who are on the fence will want to see what you see and reach for and find that light as well.
    Thank you, and Welcome home!
