    The Badjao people are a native community in the Philippines, commonly referred to as sea nomads. Research indicates that they have resided in the region since 500AD, characterized as native fishermen who have employed eco-friendly fishing techniques for more than 1,500 years.

    living with an extended family (uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, in-laws) is a very common thing in the Philippines. our culture is very different from the west when it comes to family. here, parents want their childten to stay with them for as long as possible because children will always be children and thry will forever be parents to them. it's really a different dynamics tgat westerners don't fully understand.

    They can stay underwater without oxygen tanks for 10-15 mins (or more). The sea is their kids playground, start to swim before they can walk. 😊

    Your amaze every family is in the house. We have a choice here to stay with our family or live separately. We choose to live and take care of our elders thats why only seldom use home for the aged. 😁

    Only the tribes marry like that. We have church weddings just like Westerners for Christians.
    That's for. Majority of Filipinos. There are marriages that are different for Muslims.

    There are 110 ethno linguistic groups or 110 different indigenous with different 111 dialects and 8 considered languages. Different tribes have their own areas to live. The Bajao’s are the sea gypsies living in the seas within the South of the Philippines. The Philippines were already a melting pot ( different types of people or indigenous living side by side) even during the pre colonial period until at present.

      @@francisthegreat4064 right. As I mentioned, there are 110 different indigenous and different dialects. Meaning different culture or practices from the other indigenous. Different means they don’t have the same practices. Much more as of the present Philippines.

      We can actually group Filipino people into two: the Hispanic Filipinos, those who were converted into Roman Catholicism and finally the non-Hispanic Filipinos who became indigenous people in the country.

    • @marierocher4422
      @marierocher4422 24 дні тому +2

      @@francisthegreat4064 we can’t divide indigenous groups. These are one of the original people in different cultures that made our country a melting pot. Division is a bad idea as negative thinking like separating the higher class and the lower class. Indigenous are the most respected people in the world and the world are trying to protect these old traditions or the roots of the origin will disappear.
      The reasons Ethno/Anthro worldwide are sharing and diggings to study the roots of ancient ancestors. Why remove and put in the museums about human history when these are existing proof of who we are. Even the rests of the world are still studying the ancestry. Ethnos responsibility to keep the languages not disappearing. Why you think our ancient writings were being studied? Same in all over the World. They’re still doing research for the old or ancient civilizations. N.B these people are our identity.
