Thank you so much for this video , everyone on you tube and these communities answer is " Just do the thing " .
My brain doesn't work that way and i have really struggled because i wanted to be a " Real Programmer " and learning all this random deep down math before Ive even made a basic game and ultimately i lost interest .
Tomorrow during lockdown ill start with your advice and start creating things rather then focusing on every single line .
Thank you !
Thank you!
Thank you
This episode is completely in its own time
Watching your 8h gamedev tutorial video. Thank you for this!
WOW! Great advice! 👌
Perfect advice about practice. Watching part 1 of my first tutorial for html/css felt like things were moving way too fast and I could never memorize or implement any of it. But as soon as I started making a practice website with the help of my notes, it felt like I was moving too slow and needed to learn more. The basics that I thought were impossible to remember, practice and mistakes helped me grasp in a couple of days, so I was running out of knowledge. Once I finished the next full tutorial, I googled any problem thereafter bc running into those problems helped learning and showed me new ways to combine the basics that I already understood. I make a note in my code book of the problem and solution for any future reference.
I think we also forget that for some issues, there's more than one way to address it ("turn 90°" vs "turn right" vs "turnTo....") so you just pick what works best for you in the moment or else you'll be probably memorizing a lot more than you'll ever need or use.
Awesome advice, awesome tuts! ;)
I dont know to say this... Awesome tute you are awesome!!! Great advice and truth about game development for beginners
great! video. Thanks :)
"How to make the camera follow the player in ... cobol."
This made me literally laugh till I cried!
Truly speaking this video was really helpful for me as a beginner...
thanks bro.
Best advice!
Thanks a ton.
Thanks bro!
Best advice.
actually i'm doing same thing , try to memorize all things, but after saw this video I change my mind and going to work on my projects. thank you for this advice.
8:25 Lol, actually you are right dude. I was digging into rotation matrices and unit vectors for 2 days to just unserstand engine's logic. However I won't lie, I lost much time but I also learned a lot about game math while I was researching.
But do you still remember it?
Dude you are my favorite GameDev youtuber!
Thanks man. I feel better now ^_^.
Thanks man
Aa a game developer, it's very hard to keep up on something like making buildings beautifully maded, i had to take a really long break half of a year just to get back because if lack on interest or burn out.
If you're a game dev you can do it and keep grinding my friends!
this video has a lot of value!!, nobody talks about it
Would love to see you stream
Yess you're 1000% right
I am learning from last three months i have copied many codes from tutorial didn't write myself lot. Thanks very much for these golden information i ileterary need to know about these things thanks again
Ive definitely fallen into this trap in the past, I call it tutorial paralysis. Sometimes you learn the most making your own mistakes and its hard to make mistakes following step by step tutorials. Im enjoying these types of video btw keep it up.
great advice and nice clean cut on the hair too hahah
Masha allah
Video quality wow !
Agree 👍 its like why bother knowing how a nail and hammer is made when in fact you can just use these tools to build a house 😅😜 what matters is the quality and aesthetic of the house.

THANK U IT HELPED BRO .... I JUST STARTED >>UE4??? can i make big maps like more then 104 square kilometer..????? please help bro !!!!
It's hard because most people are attacking it by the leaves instead of the roots.
hello please we need more unreal engine 4 tutorial and thanks
My biggest issue is game art... be it 2d or 3d I struggle to find tutorials based on them.
Check out blackthornprod for 2D or imphenzia for 3D. You will thank me later.
"blaa blaa what is wrong wt me?"
hahaha.
Great advice!!
Will you do tutorials with Godot??
"don't try to learn the built-in functions in the engine"
matthew wadstein:
Not it's not hard .. but truely challenging and rewarding...love your advice. Teacher
I am not able to find visual scripting package in unity 2019.4 LTS
download the latest version, hopefully that might help you 🙄
This is how i got through college lol
great :)))))))))))
One question, if it is so hard, then will you get more salary than other developers such as front/back end and mobile?
It depends, but there's bigger need for software developers than game developers.
@@rolas2700 I am 3-year iOS developer. I am learning game development and want to change my career. I don't know whether it is a good choice. I love games and I want to join the game industry. However, If I get the same salary for game and iOS, why should I change my career? I have to start from the entry-level position for game development with a lower salary and more work in the game company. Is it worthy to do it just for interest? I feel a bit frustrated after I got rejected by two companies even not giving me an interview chance.
No matter how hard it is I still want to pick GAME DEVELOPMENT over other courses
i watch your videos just to hear that plaplabplablbaplabpla
I myself don't find game development hard unless i'm working on a large and complex project. It can depend on the game engine and you do have to sorta choose an engine that fits for you in order to make it just a bit easier. Nice video btw.
The reason game development is hard for me, is probably because I don't have any body to assist me at the very least. Apart from the tutorials I watch, no one even thinks I'll ever make a decent game; I need advice. ps, I live in Nigeria.
Ge dev is not hard I am commenting before watching this video
Luckily i haven't been to jail
so yeah I was able to watch this video

Moore video like this...
Can I pay a company to make it for me ?
If u have money and experience.
U should look up info about that ❤
Why is the salary of game dev or designer so loww while its very hard
depends on your skills and how you position yourself. You can be a good dev and be paid less and be a bad dev and be paid more
@@awesometutsnah explain that specifically 😂
@@johanruiz3422 well I don't give my hard earned experience for free just like that... So...
@@awesometuts u didn’t even answer my question 🤣
@@awesometuts all I’m asking is for u to explain what u meant by you can be a good dev and be paid less and be a bad dev and be paid more what do u mean by that ? It doesn’t take rocket science to explain that bro ….
you views are going low. why?
Time to go to war with formsoftware
Why is Game Dev so HARD?
pfff, I'm HAPPY that it is HARD.
Otherwise the market is probably filled with shovelware and other crappy games
Lol
