I remember gigs. We used to play them a lot back in the olden days, before this virus closed down every single venue in the world :/
Yeah and it's not coming back :'(
@@Pyrofries nope, 3 years later and the music scene in my city still hasn’t recovered!
find different places.
Picked mine up a couple days ago. Absolutely loving it! Speakers are phat and the low end on synths is surprisingly chunky. The feel is great, big step up from my previous Yamaha P-45. Highly recommend for a cheapish stage piano or even an intermediate home piano (which is what I'm mainly using it for). Great vid as always Jack and the Falcon keep it up.
Could you confirm that it's able to playback audio from computer from UsbToHost? The guy was not so sure
Cristiano Sanchez I haven't had a try myself but the man at the store where I bought it said you are able to!
You messed up dawg. You should have gotten the P515
When Jack touches the keys, I listen.
There is a demo mode, you can even see it labeled in your overhead screen shots on the left side. Press dual and split together as marked.
We want Remy!
Dude, where is Remy?
Barcelona apparently.
You sold me on it dude!!
Great information......thanks for sharing!
jack needs a comedic piano tutorial lesson series of how he'd advise learning :)
Lovely keyboard and well priced...Roland definitely need to step up their paino sounds. Its been literally the same dry, mid frequency-heavy, non-resonant piano sounds on all their models over the last 10years.....just not cutting it....
Hi mate, my greetings for you!, I agree with the piano sounds, and what are your impressions about the key action?, is responsive enough or sluggish?, what do you think about this keybed against Kawai, Casio and Yamaha counterparts?. Thanks!.

Very cool. Watch out Nord!
That guy does this nice instrument a disservice. Can we get someone like that guy from Korg presenting SV-2? Jack please, make another review of rd-88 by yourself, that will for sure be better.
Awesome!!!!!!
Forgive the naive question but is Jack's playing at the 2:22 mark improvised? I ask because I absolutely adore the sound and style, so I want to look-up and learn the right techniques to be able to do that myself.
We want Remy! ;)
How much for the Rick Astley LP then?
I want this in Indonesia 🇲🇨 🥺
Hi Jack. You didn't seem all that enthusiastic about the RD88. Am I right? Why? Also, what do you consider the best most versatile digital stage piano with good piano feel keybed under $2,000? Thanks mate.
What’s up! I need a good stage piano under $2000 too. I was wonder what you went with and how good it is. I know you commented 2 years ago but thanks

I miss "the rather lovely Remie from Roland".
Haha same she’s awesome
Hey guys, is this good for a near beginner player?
It's a Roland - of course there are DEMOS! Press Split and Dual together...
Only two tho 🥺
Hi, what is your output on the video? Not the speakers, a midi to a daw or straight to a DI/mixer/speakers?
Hey...anyone know why my keyboard doesn't have a USB shebangalang? Its a king Kronos but I thought that feature will be on all modern keyboard. I suppose the shebangalang technology is exclusive to roland?
Is this a good option to use it as a home digital piano for mainly piano playing or should I stick with the FP series?
I'd say stick with the FP series , they are fine for home piano. . this is really for gigging, , (dreams ! )
Depends on how high demands are and hoe many Features you want!
But in fact the Rd88 is actually cheaper than the fp60 (at least in Germany). And you get so many more feature with the RD88.
But you're loosing those big speakers, bleutooth features, and a music desk.
Crazy stereo effects...
Geoff Webber - they’re really premium effects at this pricepoint; vintage stompbox effects and famous Roland model reverbs.
It's the perfect light weight stereo gig machine with a Spacestation V3.
The Roland's EQ overcomes the limited response of the Spacestation.
They work so well together.
Hello! Do you think the Roland RD88 or FP90 better?
Yes please answer that
Fp90 for best acoustic piano sound. Rd88 for many effect and many cool button
Nice light Keyboard
But the Good old Lever/Modulation leave
Can I have the Jupiter X with this Keybed?
For me the piano sample in too short in comparison to other roland pianos..it seems a casio piano sample.. :-/ Who agrees with me??
Damiano Calloni - The included SN Concert Piano is right out of the RD-800/RD-2000, so 🤷🏻♂️. Maybe not as good as the V-Piano engine.
It sounds bad. Metallic, brittle attack. No mids/body.
Just like your comments...
Ok mate, I agree, but what about the key action?, which is more confortable, responsive and reiable between this and Casio, Yamaha and Kawai counterparts?. Thanks!.
I agree completely. Piano samples sounds harsh and artificial.
Hi there! Are the piano sounds same as rd800? Same engine?
3000 scenes, in fact a RD-2000 LE
Lot of Remie comments... :) There was a video a few months ago about something (think maybe Jack was with Ben from Andertons) and Jack mentioned Roland along the lines of "even though Remie's left" and he seemed quite upset - I believe she moved to Europe somewhere...
She's in Barcelona, mate.
Cat Stevens 😍
This fella is obviously lovely but I much prefer the chap from Korg.... assuming he's not succumb to the virus can you get him on a remote link showing you funky shit pls.
Where’s the rest of it?! 😮
How could it be more compact? Make it 73 notes and ditch the speakers. Done.
Phil Brannigan The Roland VR730 is the best all rounder.
@@CTBroadfoot I like the versatility of the VR730, but the semi-weighted board put me off. When we're allowed out again, I'll see if I can hunt one down to try.
Phil Brannigan I quite like the action as an all rounder that can be used for both organ, synth and piano - I use it mainly as my jam / rehearsal board. There is also an unofficial editor that makes it much more versatile.
@@CTBroadfoot mmm, I do like an editor. I wonder why they don't release an official editor? Even my 61-note Korg Kross 2 comes with an official Korg editor.
A stage piano needs sliders and/or draw bars.
It has a demo mode
Please can anyone help? Is the USB interface “class compliant” ie. can I attach my iPad/iPhone (Using Apple’s camera connection kit) and play the sound of the iPad out of the RD88’s outputs?
I want to use organ sounds from garageband’s drawbars with it...Many thanks in advance
got the same question
REMI?!?!?!?!
£1049.. Hmm. 🤔 think Remie must have moved on from Roland.
Will someone get Jack a Mrs Jack ffs...his love musk is well obvious.
Hi guys. Does anyone know if the Roland RD 88 can play 16 multitimbral parts?
Do u hve the answer now?? I wanna know too!
And Remy????
Nerds are back.
Piano sound is simply no good. All I want is a nice slim stage keyboard with onboard speakers, a really good piano sound (+ a few good wurly electric pianos, workable organ) I keep almost buying this keyboard but the piano sounds keep stopping me
There are many other piano sounds not represented in any review online. Have you played one personally?
Rd300nx sound better in piano
You may have to learn editing patches and scenes. This enables you to create and customize any piano sound, probably a good move for you.
I’m married bro....trust me....stay single!
7:06 » Layering Sounds (6:66) ??? hahahahahaha...
No battery option for busking/outdoor events etc like the ancient Juno DS88. Plus its got likkle speakers so is not a proper stage piano anyway. Missed opportunity Roland. Oh and thank god its got a harpsichord sound (like all its competitors to be fair) - so useful for most gigs....not.
Wtf is a gig?
Gigolo
Harsh, brittle piano. Sounds like crap.
Rd300nx sound better
@@bustanorms2028 No doubt about that. Just about anything does.
There's a tons of useless sounds on that keyboard. Thousands of pads and synths. Less on piano No good upright piano and FM ep sounds.. I owned before an RD 800 , the only good on that piano is the portabilty and some piano sounds.
As good as Anderson’s guitar and bass stuff is...that’s how bad this was. Excruciating.
STOP SAYING “OBVIOUSLY”. If it was obvious you wouldn’t need to say it.
You alright? Pants a bit tight, eh?
Aren't you guys sitting too near each other? I see sanitizer in the back, but Corona is contagious over air too.
This was filmed over a month ago 10:26
Dude, where is Remy?
On his bedroom, tired
