After Order 66 Yoda actually vowed never to use his lightsaber again and instead used a crossbow so it's pretty inaccurate
He’s not wrong - yoda didn’t even have a lightsaber in this film so they are both Luke’s, just the wrong colour

I remember my parents taking me to Toys R Us on Black Friday 2004 and picking up this set. I stayed up that night building it and my parents had to tell me to go to sleep because it was midnight. What a nostalgia trip this is.

I love the old lego Star Wars look, it has a certain charm to it. Very simple to bulld at home.
Man this takes me back. I remember getting this set Christmas Morning back in 2004 when I was 10yrs old. Still have it stored away somewhere.
This has to be one of my favorite sets ever. Not only the nostalgia of this, but just the x-wing is beautiful, the box is classic af, and I’ve always loved Yoda’s hut. Lego Star Wars the complete saga triggered much of this.

I think that yoda's head has better shape, more accurate to yoda puppet used in the movie than present head morlds, it looks really really good and would be perfect if it would be painted.
The sand green matches the Empire lighting better too. The new olive green just work for prequels/in the hut by the fire.
welp, my mind was blown by the fact that that other storage location is actually the canonical place for it on an X-wing.
That was my favorite feature of the set. Not sure why.

I always thought this X-Wing looked very cool with the foliage attached, it makes it look so unique. I never knew there was a storage compartment below the cockpit and that R2-D2 actually fits in the right way instead of sideways like in a lot of the later X-Wings. I wish they'd do a remake of this set, not just Joda's Hut like we got recently, but include a swamped version of the X-Wing as well!

Leo Flournoy nah Yoda loses his lightsaber in episode 3 against palpatine and it’s canon that palpatine burns it after that with all the other lightsabers from the Jedi temple but no offense luke should have a blue one

This was years before Disney's bullshit canon.
ROTS came out a year later so this decision seems like LEGO took liberties that are inaccurate. It happens even today. Just adds to the charm
Oh my, this thing pops up in my recommended, and all them memories come flashing back - this was my first lego set and my god i want to go back to that feeling!

I remember building this for Christmas while A Christmas Carol played on TV.
I miss yellow Star Wars figures. They had a nice charm not being as accurate as possible

For christmas my friends and I did secret Santa, and I got the 2002 lego obi wans jedi starfighter. It didn't come with the box, but it came with the instructions and chrome hilt. It's an amazing set, and it came with a yellow faced obi wan and old printed r4 astromech
I I heard that when they did the cloud city set with Lando, they thought they couldn’t make him yellow since he’s African American, so they ended up with the first flesh colored minifigure.
I LOVED this set as a kid. I took that X Wing everywhere with me.

I remember this. I almost bought this as an Easter gift years ago, but I instead chose a tie fighter with a Darth Vader with light up lightsaber. Part of me wishes I chose this but I do wish Luke had his pilots outfit instead
I remember seeing this set in a Toys R Us catalog and being so excited about saving for it. Course I never did but I did manage to get the 2006 X wing fighter as a birthday present, so I wasn’t all torn up about this one anymore.

Great review! I had this set back in the day, and fondly remember building it and showing it off to my family Christmas Day. I just put in my order for Poe's TROS X-Wing, and it's amazing to think how much same general design has improved over the years.

honestly I like this yodas hut way more than the 2018 one. It has better colors, better sizing, and a better build.
I find it interesting that Luke comes with his green lightsaber even though this seems to be based on episode V when he is training with Yoda.

Interesting fact about me: About a year ago I got to build this set at a lego camp that I went to over the summer. It didn’t have any figures but I really wanted to get it still. At the LEGO camp there was also a black pearl set and I was like “wow how did this person aford this”

LEGO has come so far but has changed in ways I wish it hasn’t, this x wing came with a decent build on the side, now all we get is an x wing, older sets are the best

My favorite set from 2004! I remember getting this set and the millennium falcon on my 10th birthday. Have to disagree with you on the dish hut printed pieces. Maybe cause you never had it as a kid so you dont have nostalgia attached to it.
