- Thanks for watching this very first episode of my new "One Song, One Amp!" series, the V2 edition! Remember my old one? I wanted to do this again but this time kick it up a notch with 8 different guitars! Should be fun! I hope to eventually feature ALL my amps in this series. Could be great for comparing amps to eachother! Cheers!

Thanks for watching everyone! I hope you enjoy this new series :)
That metal active tone with the LTD arctic was just sick!
5:00 I love the After The Burial vibe!
It's amazing how you can make any amp sound tight and articulate without a boost or an overdrive. I had to use a boost with powerball mk1 to get the sound I wanted.
Any amp?? I think you mean this amp?
Time ago, I entered in the great Musicstore in Cologne, Germany and went in the amp section. Tried every possible amp they got out there and I picked this one. It just simply works whatever fire you throw it at, blues, metal, rock, pop... Works great with a Diezel, Mesa and its own Engl cabs.
That riff got me hyped
God damn it this is fire! Engl amps are becoming my favourite!
Loved it! keep 'em coming
So cool! Thank you man, great demo!
I absolutely love this series! I am excited for more! Your videos keep me inspired to chase good tone, keep them coming!
Amazing tune, as always. Great ones as well--very positively impressed with this amp.
Loving the new tunes! Looking forward to more from the V2 series.
Dude ur a great player and soundman man !!! Love your video!
Sweet! Absolutely great video. A perfect demonstration of the amp with various appropriate guitars, pickups and IRs. And a really cool tune. Loved the transitions
Great video! Love how you played all the different styles and stringed guitars..
Right on John, sounds amazing! You never fail to get the best sounding tones on your recordings. I use the Powerrball model on my Axe Fx 3 as my go to amp but the real thing sounds killer!
Keep it up!
Awesome! Thank you!
Such a great demo ! Awesome playing. This amp sounds great with the Baritone guitars.
No wonder the amp, I came here to enjoy the musicality and the playing, and god knows I'm not disappointed.
Hi Jon, I came here to get my periodic dose of sick tones. 8)
Thanks for sharing! Cheers
Great job John! 🎸🤘 that is a nasty amp!! 🔥🔥😝
Awesome demo man amp sounds great
God damn those 7 and 8 strings riffs were catchy. Sounds awesome
Great playing, very original.
Would be very interesting to see Powerball I review from you as there seems not to be any available, at least in your outmost depth and quality. Absolutely superb playing and reviews, sincere thanks from Finland.
Ah, man. I got one in 2011 and sold it a few years ago. Best amp I've ever had. Now I don't need it, but I WANT it back!
Good job as always 🤘
The return of the GOAT series! Woo!
I love your 8 string song. Great video
whew...hits hard
Epic as usual.
Bought the same amp many years ago for a ridicilous low price and never looked back. The only problem is that every time I plug into another amp besides Engl it's never really satisfying for some reason. The Savage 120 and the artist edition are still on my wishlist. Great demo man
I found the powerball V1 for 500€ once but didn't buy it 💀
I have a Savage 120 MK1. It doesn't sound quite as versatile as the Powerball II.
@@KahruSuomiPerkele de powerball 2 is also bit more "make sense" controls with the separate channels. The powerball 1 sounds also great and built in noisegate is a must. I don't understand why especially high gain amp builders don't offer that awesome feature
@@lordgraga but the basic sound is so mean and killer. I was at axe palace a month ago and played the Savage 2, what a killer beast it is. I want it so bad
@@johnnysguitarcorner5510 yeah, Savage does a thing that no other amp does - definitely it’s own thing!
Great video. Would love to hear a comparison of channel 3 and 4 vs the Fireball 100.
0:40 and 2:35 gave me some great Mastodon vibes lol, great video!
i bought a powerball 2 less than a month ago because of the quality demo you did on it swayed my choice its so freaking tight and modern sounding a love it and play it everyday. before I started out with a line 6 spider 5 240 hc and ill say is a beast as well and your get a lot of bang for your buck with it. but the powerball 2 its a mega beast and is loud AF.
I bought one of these two years ago and it’s an absolute dream. I play in a classic rock cover band and it is so perfect for all the different sounds i need. Throw an overdrive in front and you can get some heavy bad ass metal tone. It doesn’t need a boost either too which is great
Congrats on kicking off a v2. The v1 is legenderay in its own right though. Great amp btw 😊
Thanks! :)
I just bought one happy times 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Amazing video as always! Have you played the e530 preamp from Engl? If so, how does it compare to the Fireball II?
The e530 is savage based and most closely resembles the blackmore preamp. It's amazing.
Would love to see you do a video on the Boogie Mark IV
Thanks you!)
Nce demo!
Would you say it does rock and grunge well? Seems mostly metal.
Thanks for doing videos on the different Engl amps! Which do you feel is best for 8 string down tuned metal? Like Meshuggah. Thinking about buying my first Engl and am unsure which would be best for what I want to play. Thanks again!
Like, all of them haha. Seriously, they all do that well. Can't go wrong with a fireball though
that phoenix is insane , a thing of beauty and power.
666 views! 😀this is awesome and very good riffs and amp.
What do u think of engl e670? ID like to buy one and i cant try it first. I like the poweball 2 but id like the e670 two. Do you have any info? Tks a lot for the vids. Just keep'em coming 🤘🤘🤘
I love this amp.
I see it as "equilibrated", among the modern metal amps lile Rectifier.
How do you "see" him?
How do you play two tracks with perfect tight timing? Amazing.
Great amp..almost bought it, but I found I couldn't switch between all of these sounds for live (..no compromise when recording..)
@4:09 sounding good. amp sounds fantastic with the 8-string
Also appreciate the led color changes to match
Back in the day when selecting my desert island amp, I selected Engl. Over Diezel, Fortin, and many others available at the time.
IMO my Engl provides the most pristine cleans and extreme levels of high gain saturation with many usable points in between.
It's definitely modern voiced though; you're not going to get vintage tones easily without pedals. That's why I have a Marshall full stack too.
Cheers!
Ive never played one of these amps before. Its making me want to save up and get one.
I think ENGL-Amps are ALL great beasts.I have played the Blackmore E650,the Powerball(MK1),the Savage120(MK1-it was a raw brute monster!),a friend of me is playing the Fireball 100 and the Fireball 25,and a few months before I bought the Artist Edition E 651 and what should I say?None of that amps have disappointed me in some way-they are simply just great amps with great tones🤘😎
I've wanted one but never pulled the trigger. I may be buying the Powerball sim in Amplitude 5 now though 🤔. Might make me switch from the Soldano 100 as my go to.
The m80 segment was like a super happy Thomas the tank engine theme being chiseled out on a menacing 8 string monstrosity 🤣
It's ok to be happy and heavy
Nice
Question...when you do these types of videos, do you write the songs?
This is my favorite head and it’s the best experience in amplifiers. This head unit needs it’s matching v30 cabinet. I guarantee you the sounds are a sonic quake powerful enough to shatter the sky. The video sounds very different than my experience but this and the se670 are like top secret experiments you accidentally found at Area 51. Push it further with pedals but know this amp is limited on gain. It takes you to the point where you wish there was just a hair more but it’s the perfect point.
Killer amp
4:54 goddam boy! that was heavy, groobie and tasty 🤘😈
Can’t go wrong with ENGL, the iron ball is my favourite I think though
I found it all fascinating. Thanx for the demo.
. In early 2019 Covid forced a couple of Fireball endorsees to finish their tours without their amps. ENGL gave them the just finished Fireball pedals. They literally took the pedal and one guitar as a 'Fly Rig' Both guys were blown away with the pedal as they said no matter what amp the venue supplied them with they could dial in their sound. Covid killed distribution but I did manage to get a pedal from Germany. It is one killer pedal!!!! :-)
Thats really straight into the amp? Sounds great.
Yup!
Had that amp for while and loved it. Ch1 and 3 are really good. ch4 is good too but ch2 is where this amp struggles, in my opinion, because it can't give you a warm/vintage type of sound. It's always on the cold side. Ch2 is good for some modern prog metals kind of music. I ended up selling it a moving back to marshalls I was missing the classic crunch. I still miss what ch 3 wa able to give me, though.
wtf? How come this is the exact same (performance) footage/sound as the video for the Marshall DSL100HR? Then I watched the video for the Friedman too. It's also the same footage/sound! (but with occasional shots of the featured amp edited in)
I'M GONNA SUE!
EMOOOTIONAL DAMAGE!
Sometimes I reamp tracks
Pushed clean was straight old mastodon
Does anyone wanna share some good setting on a powerball 1 for getting a good rock/metal sound. I am struggeling to get a good sound but i know it is in there.
I play through a 4x12 with v30's Thanx in advance for your reply
I like the fullness of this amps, but for me Ironball has better tone. I just wish they make 100w version.
: )
One amp twenty guitars 👍
Haha almost
...but....but Glen said to not to.🤑
DOOM!
Sabes que pasa con tus videos? Que todos los amplificadores que pruebas suenan toooooooooodos igual men. El sonido está tan manipulado que no se distinguen unos de otros
