I just installed my intercooler but I had to make some of my own fitments as it did not match up with the bolts or rubber gourmets

I will be following your video this week once mine is here by Friday. I also am all prl downpipe frontpipe..intake..and phearable race tune. Would you say that the prl is even better than 27won? I bought their downpipe also had it on sounded so much better with 200 cell vs prl 400 cell. I felt though like it lost the high pitch noise prl makes but alot of people are saying that was drone and also even though prl is 4.5 inch diameter that it does nothing real serious unless you were at 400 to 500 horsepower. Even 27won told me that when they called. What you think? Cause you get slight gurgle with prl but nothing like 27won. And then their catback is dropping in July which will sound ridiculous.

I wouldn't say 1 is better than the other. They're essentially the exact same thing. You won't see any extra performance benefit going from 1 to the other. They're going to give you the same power increase.
In terms of sound, the PRL one is just as loud, if not louder than the 27Won downpipe, you can certainly hear burbles on every shift, including going back to neutral.
I personally don't notice any drone at all. Unless I'm coasting at like 5K+ RPM down a hill but even stock downpipe will do that. It really just comes down to a personal preference, They're both great brands, I just go with PRL as they've been in the game longer and have learned a lot from the 10th gen and are carrying that knowledge to the 11th gen platform.
Have you noticed any lag from the intercooler with the stock tune / pro tune? Just wondering if throttle response is affected by the volume of the aftermarket intercooler. Thanks for being a resource, hoping to pick up a Civic Si soon!
I actually haven't tested it with the stock tune yet but with the KTuner base maps and TSP tune, I don't notice any lag at all. It seems to spool up just as fast as it did with the stock intercooler. My temperatures are definitely lower, and I do feel a slight power increase on the top end. I believe with a pro tune, it will feel even better. As the off the shelf tunes don't really take full advantage of the intercooler.
Also did the intercooler feel like it gave you power. 27won 10th gen intercooler gave them 25 hp and 35 trq when tuned to the wheels so I figured with the prl if your tuned I bet at least 15 to 20 whp? What you think?
Yes, I notice a slight difference in power increase, mainly the top end. However, I haven't gotten a pro tune to take full advantage of my aftermarket intercooler.
I mainly bought it for heat soak, the power increase is just a bonus for when I do get a pro tune done.
When tuned, its going to add just as much as 27Won, if not more.
Thinking about doing this same mod towards the summer. Will just the intercooler be beneficial without the additional charge pipes PRL sells? Don't wanna spend a fortune on upgrading all that stuff if I don't need to.

That's what I went with as well as I don't see a huge restriction on the stock charge pipes. However, if you live in an area that gets extremely hot and you tend to be beating on the car often, it's not a bad idea to get the charge pipes. But the charge pipes are definitely not necessary to see the benefits from the intercooler.
That stock one is a P.O.S it honestly blew my mind how light it was when I pulled it out. Its like maybe 5lbs where as the PRL one is like 26lbs or something.
Its a big difference!
