The best Splinter Cell and one of the best stealth games. The amount of hours I spent to master all the levels, to be a ghost and get past the enemies without them knowing I was there (no killing or stunning unless necessary) was probably over 1000 hours.
I remember playing the demo for this game in a GameStop. The lighting was immediately noticeable. The co-op for this game was SO cool and laid a path down for other games that require a friend to traverse to other paths. Thanks for the review and fond memories.
Glad you covered this! Chaos Theory is sort of in the middle between the previous SC games and immersive sims. It's not quite that open, but it gives you enough freedom to feel like every tool in your kit is viable at some point or another. I personally don't mind the lack of customizable presets since theoretically giving yourself 10 flashbangs would be pretty OP. XD
If you're only going to play 1 Splinter Cell game , it has to be Chaos Theory. It is BRILLIANT. Side note: I hope when you do Double Agent , you review the PS2/XB version as well, as its an entirely different game to the 360/PS3 version and some would argue better, although its not considered canon. The prison escape level on these versions is still one of my favourite levels ever.
this game was my childhood i've played it so much i know ever nook and cranny. I played all versions, xbox, pc, ps2, gamecube. Interesting seeing the differences, like the ps2 and gamecube couldn't have the same map sizes and graphics but added a water take down move where Sam leaps up and grabs someone walking by a pool or body of water you're in and then drag them in and drown em. funny thing on gamecube is when leaving bodies in bodies of water their legs floated up while their upper halves stayed submerged it was weird but funny lol
I tried playing this on my PC a few years ago, but due to the nature of also having a million other things to do on my pc, my ADHD brain never completed it. I think I'm gonna buy the OG Xbox version of this from a local game shop and try to play through it. It's been a literal decade since I've tried to play a new stealth game! Thanks for the awesome review.
Chaos theory was fantastic! Me & my friend spent so many hours playing it. We didn't care how it looked or how it played, the co op mode was brilliant although not many levels but still fantastic! It was my favourite game, it would be nice to see a new splinter cell but the only time i got to see sam Fisher was playing Tom clanceys wildlands helping him with a mission.
Huge fan of Chaos theory. The stealth and RTS genres were my fav immersive single player gaming experiences of that era, both genres crash-dived shortly after this game released it seems in favor of more online/multiplayer friendly titles.
Versus was a blast. Barely played it on Pandora Tomorrow because i rented it. But after owning this one for Xbox i had one of the best online experiences. I made so many friends on Xbox Live thanks to this game and even got to experience a made up game we played called Tag where it was 1 Merc vs. 3 Spies. Good times. I just wish they would properly port games like this that had their online servers shutdown.
my main issue is that for some reason i cant sprint on pc . plus when i try to save the game it says error . plus when i try to load the save game it for some reason doesnt boot up . this game is a 5/10 . for this kinds of issues and a lot more . hopefully someone can give me a fixed version .
@@arcaine345 I am not sure about the save, I am sorry. But due to how keyboards cannot permit for analogue movement, the scrollwheel is used to regulate the speed so Sam can slowly creep or quickly move in the base keybinds.
My fondest memory of this game is jumping into coop with my dad and knocking him out by accidentally breaching a door he was standing behind instead of slowly opening it

“The internet tells me it’s one of the greatest games ever made”…..
It’s the only time the “internet” was right about something 😄

the peak of Splinter Cell series: Chaos Theory is a masterpiece.

Completely agree about everything you mentioned :)

One of the greatest games ever made isn’t an understatement. Hell it isn’t even an overstatement. It’s exactly what it is.

Ai in this game was insane for back in the day similar to wow factor of the original FEAR.

ubisoft we need a remake of this asap!!!
Looking forward to your vid on Double Agent! I hope it's on the XBox/PS2 version, which is a lot closer to Chaos Theory
With regards to multiplayer known as Spies vs Mercs, I'd recommend checking out Super Bunnyhop's in-depth review about it!
Crazy to think this is Ubisoft
The best one, its downhill from here
Not really. Blacklist is actually very good.
@@TomTom-kq2lr True. Old gen Double Agent is also nice.
@@TomTom-kq2lr It actually is but it's still got nothing on Chaos Theory tbh
Double Agent on OG Xbox is really good game. Imo way better than X0 version.
@@jothain Eh, I'd say they're both equally fun, but flawed. Just for different reasons.
I remember buying this game because the cover looked so cool, I wasn't even aware of the series at the time.

is there controller support thru Ubisoft? I got my game thru them.
Multiplayer was awesome as well
what a game..
The biggest sin was NOT having the Co-Op missions in the HD Remaster.

I have found that your speed is bound to the scrollwheel by default.

Back when ubisoft actually knew how to make good games. now they just make forgettable shit same with EA and Activision
Original Xbox had the best version. As far as graphics and everything. But I'm considering downloading it for pc
