My apologies for the muted portions. My video was copyright claimed so I had to mute a section (luckily I was not explaining anything pertinent during that time). Thanks so much for watching :)
I love that she gives prices , that helps us home bakers a lot to see some how we will charge our customers . Thanks 🤩
You are so welcome!! :)
Me too I love the pricing!

Let me just say ... Well damn!!! You handled that cake !!! The fondant work, the luxurious look from top to bottom front & back... Dont get me started on the detail 👌!!! Absolutely stunning !! You have huge talent girl !!! Money well spent to buy a cake from you... 😁
@@jamifitz aw thank you so so much! So sweet of you to say :)
Wow I thought those were real flowers when I saw the thumbnail!! Absolutely stunning!
Thank you so much 💕🥰
The cake is beautiful! I've been baking since my kids were little, but somehow I never thought of steaming the fondant. Thanks for that tip!
Steaming has saved my cake life! I didn’t start doing it up until a couple years ago. Makes everything so vibrant and makes everything so much faster too. 🥰💕
Ive been watching alot of cake shows that show you little tips and tricks like steaming etc..cake boss and duff are some of my favorite and I got alot from watching baking championships cause they tell you everything they're doing lol...theyre on discovery plus. Also of course all the help from my utubers!!!! Thanks!
I would have never thought to use a steamer.
Genius!
It took me way too long to discover this! I have never looked back!!
Dreamy! Lovely for the ladies in our lives… so perfect!
Thank you-one of my favourite cake designs 🥰💕
New subscriber and 8 month old home baker here! So happy I found your channel. Especially the ones with tips on how to make money and grow! I would love to see some fondant secrets in the future!
Thanks for watching! Congratulations on starting your caking journey :)
As I was rolling out the black fondant and using corn starch, i realized that the black fondant took the colour of the corn starch which made my black fondant have a white colour to it. And I’m having difficulties with getting it out. Do you have any tips on getting the white colour of the corn starch out of the black fondant or to deal with black fondant without corn starch?
This is why I steam my cakes! It helps bring back all of the saturation that the cornstarch takes out.
I have those rose cutters and tried them once... failed. You have inspired me to try again 😁 Love this cake. Thanks for ALL the tips. You are amazing.
Yes! My daughter is working on using them. It's all about how you roll it up!
You did a fantastic job on the barrel cake!! Can I use a regular steamer to steam my fondant or is there a specific kind to use?
Thank you! Just a regular old clothing steamer will do!! 🍰🥰 happy steaming
HERMOSO!HERMOSO!HERMOSO!!!❤✨️💕✨️💕
I love the idea of steaming cakes. Do you have any tips? Also.... will the cake stay shiny looking or will it turn matte again after it dries?
I should do a quick video on steaming cakes! Unfortunately it doesn’t stay shiny, but you can brush cakes with a mixture of vodka and corn syrup so they stay shiny!!
I love it ❤️❤️❤️ I’ve been wanting to make a flower box cake for ages ☺️ thank you for the tutorial
You’re so welcome, Grace! Me too!! So glad I finally made one.
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe I’m thinking of doing the cake in buttercream with the top decorated with fresh flowers ❤️❤️❤️ I hope it’ll turn out nice
Absolutely beautiful....
Super cute Mother’s Day cake!😊
Definitely one of my faves 🥰
This cake is too beautiful to cut.
I think the recipient actually left it for a bit because they didn’t want to cut it!! Haha 🍰😊
Love the cake! On the fondant video could you talk about price and if you feel it's more worthwhile for you to make your own? I found some in a 50lb box that I'm debating on going with over makeing it my self.
Thank you
Oh yes! I will be going over all the details about that 💕🥰
Love this. What is the tool you used for the stitching called? Thanks in advance
I actually don't know what the name of it is....we used to call it a 'rolly texture tool' at the bakery haha. Definitely not the technical name. It's basically a tool that can indent your fondant without cutting it and it rolls.
You're a rockstar!!! Love this cake!!!
Thanks so much, Elizabeth!! 🥰💕🍰
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and techniques to make this beautiful MASTERPIECE. It is exquisitely designed and very elegant. Can you tell me where I can purchase the edible paper?
🌿🌹🌿🤗
You are so welcome! Thank you for your kind words. Here is the edible wafer paper: amzn.to/3aWyE9w
I'm soo much in love with your cakes😍😍😍
Thank you so much! 🥰🍰
Such talent! Beautiful cake!
Thank you very much!!
WAO the nice cake & the decoratie beautiful Iove iT
Thank you🍰💕
I'm doing some in buttercream a mother's day bouquet I'm very much a beginner and I only charged 20 dollars but the base is a tin container that says garden and using the skewers. If I use fondant and get fancier now I know what to charge!!! Of course I'm kind of trying to establish myself first lol...
Buttercream flowers would look beautiful too!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe thanks😊
Gorgeous!😍
Thank you! 🥰💕
Que belleza me encanta felicitaciones y muchas gracias por compartir
🥰🥰💕🍰
It’s gorgeous
Thank you so much!! 💕🍰
I don't have steamer. What option i can use? I am new in fondant 😁
To attach fondant to fondant just a brush and some water will do!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe Thank you so much ❤❤❤
Amazing 🤩 Beautiful 🤩
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you, Maria!
I wonder if I could use real flowers, would i need to add something extra to the top or add more wafer paper to stop the flowers from laying on top of the buttercream?
You totally could! I would add maybe parchment on the top to just prevent the fresh flower moisture from soaking into the cake 🥰
I think it's a wow
Thank you! 🍰🥰
Placing the cake with fondsnt back in 30 minutes, wouldn't that make the fondant flowers sweat?
Surprisingly no! I have my fridge set to super low humidity so it just makes it cold and dried. I have had different fridges that did make my cakes sweat really badly!
This is amazing Ms. Winterhault!
Thank you, Alexis!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe No problem!
Leftover cake hump would help fill out and round the top.
For price wise like your idea but video was too fast 😀 but I have watch video again and again to catch your ideas thank you for sharing
Aw noted! I guess I made it as quickly as I would've liked to view it, but I have to remember how I want things slowed down sometimes too!!

Precioso 💗💕
🥰🍰
I’ve been baking for almost 7 years and still undercharging 😭 Before I ran on to this video , I quoted an 18 servings cake 4 layers pot cake with fondant flowers and chocolate stumps, cake board also decorated with fondant, I priced it$120 😭
You know pple in my area dont want to pay for cakes like this they think is too much. Its really a struggle in my area of GA. It piss me off, and I'm like I am not going to do a cake for $80 or $100 I'm not making no money for that. Then I called around to local bakers and some charge really cheap prices for small cakes like this. I'm like why and how?
Yeah that can happen in small pockets especially! Undercutting pricing is an issue. I think outputting super high quality work that’s difficult to find elsewhere is the place to start, but definitely a tough situation. 💕
How long did it take? Looks like a lot of work for only $300
Not too long actually-these roses are soooo quick to make. Around 3 hours of work I would guesstimate 🥰
Beautyyy
💕💕thank you!
The taste of Cisco ?
To me, Crisco has very little taste when it’s all mixed in like this. Definitely would not recommend it though for buttercreams/frostings 🥰
Like your video but too fast so can’t catch to see properly 😊
It’s a beautiful cake but not sure why it’s worth 300$? I’m a baker too and made many cakes as well and some really extravagant that have taken a rather long time to make.. but I’ve never charged that much fir a cake. I figure I don’t own a shop and I’m not some famous baker, however if I was I would definitely charge more.. but I guess to each is own and if you can get that much for this cake, more power to you!
Pricing is a tricky thing because it really depends on where you live. I live in a very expensive area in general. Owning a house for example starts at a million dollars-and not necessarily a very nice one. Go to the next province over and you can easily find something for half that amount. So I understand when a price like that seems over inflated, but it’s actually fairly middle of the road here. I consult various bakeries frequently to ensure my pricing guide is relatively average. In my newer videos I mention that it’s better to look at a series of how I would price so you can see the difference between the cake costs rather than just look at the number.
300,- ??? We cannot ask for prices like that in the Netherlands. Im a bespoke baker/patissier, and ask a lot less for cakes like this...
Nevertheless its a nice cake!
I agree. Even though the cake is beautifully executed, I don't think anybody in The Netherlands would pay 300 euros or dollars for a 6 inch cake like this😅. I think people would say "voel eens ff aan je voorhoofd", meaning something like "are you crazy?😅"
I think the euro is also a lot stronger than the Canadian dollar! How much would you charge? Pricing is so different everywhere for sure 🥰🍰
😂😂
Dear Ashleigh, I think I would charge around 100 euros for this creation. I think that's about 150 Canadian Dollars. Maybe too low🤷🏿♀️? I do see the work and effort you have put into this cake and I think your pricing matches your skills and experience👌🏾❤.
@@nelstein5995 aw thank you-yeah I think it really depends too what the rates are like locally. I would say in comparison to other bakeries this would be pretty middle of the road! 💕
Definitely not worth $300.00 if you use vegetable oil in a cake. Butter cakes have always been better than vegetable oil cakes.
To each their own regarding taste--but the cake ingredients itself actually play a much smaller role in pricing than the actual decor.
OMG. $300.00 dollars for a SIX inch cake? Where do you live where people pay that price for so little cake? Especially when it’s all fondant. Half the cake is going to be peeled away/not eaten anyway. Not trying to be negative, I’m just really curious. I would never be able to sell a cake that size for that price where I live. Even if all those flowers were piped out in Italian Buttercream. 🤔
No I totally get that! Haha it does seem very expensive, but things here are pricy. I live in B.C. in Canada. Some cake makers I know have starting prices of $300.00 meaning even simple cakes are charged that amount!
Ok eoos de as de lol o3p,
This cake this too beautiful to charge only $300! It would be $450 at least
Aww thank you! 🥰💕🍰
