I was looking at Tarmac, Emonda, and TCR but I'm leaning towards this Canyon Ultimate for my new bike I get in the spring. I'm only gonna treat myself to a new bike if I reach my personal FTP goals though. It will be an amazing reward.
It’s a fantastic bike isn’t it! I was originally going for that one too but it was impossible to get it as everything was out of stock. I had been checking for quite a while. When the aero model came up I couldn’t resist!
@@danivaareoff I don't blame you. I waited 8 months for mine. I'm not fussed about electronic. Mechanical works just as nice. I noticed there's two aero versions.
Looks great and the Ltd suspiciously looks like Canyon used up some of their new Aeroad part bin stock, (which is not a bad thing just good lateral thinking on their part while they sort the issues out with the recall on that model)
omg i cant watch the scene where you tighten the seatpost and you flake of with the allen key xD Also: there is an in built newtonmeter on that allen key, you hear it "click* near the beginning of your last turn. I just bought the 2023 model, i hope i'll get it soon :) How is it going after 1 year with it? Had any problems somewhere?
What size frame did you buy? Did you use Canyons frame sizing feature? I'm 177 cm with my inseam around 81 cm and it says a i need a S frame. Just wondering if the frame size what accurate with your stats?
Yep, the size guide worked well for me. Size S, same height as you. www.canyon.com/en-au/road-bikes/race-bikes/ultimate/cf-sl/ultimate-cf-sl-8-aero-ltd/3503.html?dwvar_3503_pv_rahmenfarbe=GY%2FBK
Hello ! I will surely buy the new SL8 Di2 for the new 2023 season (Enjoy the stock...). I'm almost the same size as you, on the configurator with 1 cm more, I have a size M. What do you think about the size S after almost 1 year? I hesitate between a small aero size or a size M a little more comfortable. What do u think ? Thanks dude! Have a nice ride
Hi Louis, I think the size S fits me perfectly, though I think an M would also be fine for me too - we're probably on the borderline between sizes. I haven't had any issues with S so for me I'd probably still stick to S if I had to buy again. I'm sure the new 2023 model will be even nicer with the new 12 speed Di2. Enjoy!
Got the new 2023 SL8 Aero this Monday. But since then only rain…. Bike is waiting for a ride 🤣. I‘m 178 and took the M Size. What I can say just from sitting on the Bike it feels good.
Oh wow, not sure what happened with you wheels! Canyon did a good job with the documentation and the box was well marked. Tax was also paid for at checkout so maybe that helped too.
Its a spoke guard. It prevents the chain from going between the spokes and cassette causing damage. Not something I want to happen with these wheels! I know some people take them off, but I have always left them on my bikes. The aesthetic doesn't bother me.
@@danivaareoff you have Di2 so there's no chance of that happening. As for your other bikes, you need to check the tensioning and H limit screw. Then again, if you want to leave it on then leave it on.
It’s somewhere in the middle. Not light, but not dark either. This video is fairly accurate with the colour and is how I see it in person. I hope that helps.
The non LTD version has shallower wheels, 11-30T cassette and a power meter. Maybe better value depending on what you are after and if you don’t already have a power meter.
I love this brand... the endurace, the aero, the ultimate... all brilliant and at an amazing price point... but omg, it just bothers me so much that they didn't went that extra tiny bit to do a full internal cable routing. It would be a perfect bike!!! This bike would be 100x better if those ugly ass cables were hanging out at the front...
@@Matt-nh5zi wait… maybe next model will have that upgrade… or maybe not… the aethos s-works is a $15k bike and it has cables hanging out the front… go figure…
@@Matt-nh5zi Yeah tbh I don’t think you should go with something other that a Canyon just because of some showing cables… not everything is perfect and if they are good enough for MVP and the rest of the team they should be good enough for us ☺️

Yes, a couple of weeks ago.

I'm struggling to decide between Canyon Ultimate vs Giant TCR vs Merida Reacto. Any advice?!
I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those. I would pick which every one fits your riding style and terrain the most.
It's a decent bike and I have been wondering if I should buy one for myself... Ended up with the new Aeroad SLX eTap instead
How do I route the canyon ultimate cables inside the handlebars?
It's not possible on my model. It may be something they integrate in future models.
How would you describe the colour: light gray or rather dark gray? it looks different in each photo / video.
