The engineering behind this is nuts. Really outside the box kind of stuff. I can't imagine he'll sell more than a handful, and even then to some more wealthy folk who might want it for a novelty item, but best of luck to him.
I'd really like to see the gearing/motor behind the pick wheel. When it was doing that start/stop routine halfway through the motion looks really accurate and smooth. This definitely has limitations, but I wonder how many of those could be overcome with footswitches and pre-programmed controls. At that point though, I wonder how much this becomes "Guitar DJing".
You’ve said what I think. Exactly. It’s nothing more than a novelty. Might be used on one song that exhibits all its features and wonders, but nothing a learned player would want. Buckethead might like it.😊
For years, as a keyboard player, I've been searching for a computer program that really sounds like a live guitarist ... and then along comes a guitar that makes a live guitarist sound like a computer program ... oh the irony! ... wish them well with it though, this is true innovation at work ... if this is the first of it's kind, just imagine where it will go with the proper investment.
I think like most MIDI controller guitars, this item is only for a very select number of MIDI geniuses out there, like the inventor himself. When he is talking here in the the video about how he programmed the sequences being played, it's obvious that most people are never going to begin the path of learning to make use of a device like this.
Somehow the part at 4:20 reminded me of Muse with a less distorted tone. Matt Bellamy is no stranger to new coming up tech or gear and I bet he could whip up something unique with this. Edit: Of course later in the video Matt Bellamy gets name dropped and is actually involved with this. I wrote that comment before watching it to the end, but only fitting that he's in on that.
Have you approached any top talent and request they spend a private weekend alone with your guitar? The goal would be to return and make a critique video?
What is he doing with his hand on the bridge??? I get the six presets. What do all three of the smaller knobs do? Besides wheel speed? Is that a master volume way out on the upper treble bout?
✨✨✨✨💞💛🌹W0W!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS CIRCLE INSTRUMENTS CIRCLE GUITAR🎉🎉🎉!!!!! ✨💞 AMAZING, THAT'S A LOT OF WORK😅😅😅 LOVE 💞 ✨💞💞💞💛🌹PAKФDA💛 NUMBER ONE LOUDEST ELECTRIC GUITARIST IN THE WORLD BABY!!!!!
Not sure who use this. Mechanical automatton of programming drums, strumming and instrument performance seems like a good idea on paper...not far from a robot playing a regular guitar...except the robot is in the guitar!!! Weird science!!!
If you had made it in a bit of a different form-factor, without a guitar body, typical guitar neck, etc, the entire guitar crowd might have kept their jaded, 'everybody's an expert on what guitars are, or are not' opinions to themselves, and you may have avoided all the gazillion guitar players, who'll go on about how it's an abomination, instead of recognizing it's just it's own unique instrument with many very different things to offer, ABOVE a typical electric guitar. I do find it funny how so many guitar players will just assume nobody will want one of these wild instruments. There was a time when effect pedals for guitar were a no-no. Now, you can't find somebody who plays electric guitar, without at least a few. And many of those guitarists have no problem spending hundreds of dollars PLUS, for a fuzz or distortion pedal that has a very simple circuit inside, which costs less than $50 in vintage components to produce.
One of the most ridiculous things i ever seen and heard. This is for the untalented. Huge waste of money IMO. Just another so called instrument for a lazy untalented gamer. What has this world come to? I’m glad Im at the age I am. I wouldn’t wanna live in this world in the next 10 to 20 years if this is what music would be.
Didn't he say plus vat? He's British, so I suspect its basically £10k plus 20%, so £12,000. Dollar price would depend on exchange rate but currently that'd be circa $15k.
If you can make it. It doesn't necessarily mean that we need it.
So its every song by The Who
If this is the future of music ... you can keep it.
this isn’t meant to replace normal guitars. it’s just one more tool in the arsenal of musicians’ creativity.
All this machinery
Making modern music
Can still be open-hearted
Not so coldly charted
It’s really just a question
Of your honesty
Esto es un juguete para gente que no es musico . Tienes algo de sonidos mientras te rascas la barriga .

I could see it be used in rap music, like a with a new approach
Looks like a MLP design. Somewhat unfinished, though
@@wolfgangdevries127 More like a DARPA project lol
This is a one handed guitarist dream!!!
Perfect for when you can't find your pick.
😆
😂😂😂😂😂

This is great for anybody that wants to sound like they actually play guitar.
I thought it was somewhat mechanical
Finally anyone can play like robert fripp
I think Fripp is more musical than that.
Still can't get a girl like him though...
When making music on your computer isn't cold and impersonal enough
Prince would've loved that and probably based a whole album round it.
Sounded way better than I thought it would.
😬
A raving guitar for deep trance.
1931: Rickenbacker Frying Pan.
2025: Circle Washing Machine.
Pretty wild. I love the inventiveness. Sad day when the moving components fail and it needs a pricey fix though.
True, but if built properly it should be able to last for many decades.
If.
Does it chug ?
electromechanical charm with a human at the helm. Sounds timeless and futuristic at once.
Steve Vai needs on of these on the Hydra!
Hydra Is complete with this and no Linger needs Steve Vai 😂😂😂
@valentyndobrotivy9799 😀
FirebirdX:Was I a JOKE to you?
Nightmares are dreams too
Can I dig it? Yes, I can. No whammy, though? Would be like a pitch wheel…. MarkII, for sure. 👊🏻
Sounds like a banjo on speed.
If he can bring down the price of this, it'll be huge. Plenty of conservative-minded types will criticise it, but they'll criticise anything new.
Constructive criticism is more valuable to designers than loaded nonsense comments like yours.
@@mablesfatalfable6021 Insults aren't constructive criticism.

Or anything that sounds this bad.
@@AgentEarth-r1hYea, a huge number of guitarists, who can really only play guitar, and maybe mess with a few basic effect pedals.
The coolest guitar I have ever seen.
Johnny Greenwood needs one! He would do amazing stuff with this
Totally. Sometimes, for The Smile, it sounds like he's already made his own.
@pyroguitars1296 yeah I was thinking the same thing
King Crimson would have loved this
Kinda be fun for a while...then I'd get bored.... clever tho
It needs a lot of imagination.

And here I was complaining about Strat switches being too complex
I can appreciate the engineering and inventiveness that has gone into this, but I can't see it appealing to guitarists to be honest.
it looks great as a songwriting tool, if it was 5000 I'd get it right now.
Nevertheless it will be praised by a hurdy-gurdy player😉
No one: Skiffle is too difficult!
This dude: I got you fam!
Amazing engineering.
Where do we go for its oil change and maintenance ? NASA ?😂

I think hes muting some strings.
Or get a power drill like Paul Gilbert.
Yeah regular guitar is dead...This will break out a new set of players...looks like a danelectro...which i really like.
Very cool.
I don’t think it will take off. I think simplicity is the guitars strength.
This thing is wild
Just one question, when will you play the guitar?
could be a neat thing for people with limited use of one hand? quite the price tag though, understandably.

The Boss GM-800/GK5 does this sort of stuff already.
Future? This is the next Guitorgan. We all remember what an important development that was for guitar technology.
This is great for everybody with just one arm left. Would definitely buy it.
Except it takes both hands to operate.
Strategic composer--- i like
Incredible, I'm very impressed.
But cannot stop thinking that this thing spinning fast could lead to some type of accident
Jonny Greenwood getting excited rn
I was about to mock it, then I saw what it could really do. This is insanely complex machine, just amazing
ahh... no
Oh this is a commercial refined version of the 3d printed hundred picks a youtuber made.
Yeah, Swedish Mattias Krantz. Really wonder if any of them influenced the other
Looks like this would be in a toys r us store,if they were still around, not sure Id bother with it but Im sure someone would love it!
um, did he say it costs nearly $10,000?!?!
I think its great. Would fill a niche in my guitar collection and a hole in my abilities.
I like it. I love gadgets, gimmicks, and devices for guitar!. But it costs how much?
over 10k
@bikerjon8934 10k? holey mackerel!

COOL 😎 guitar 🎸 at NAMM SHOW 2025!👍😯
Insane.
That is so wild ❤
3:33 is when they finally get to the playing DEMO
That looks like hours of fun 😎👌
I feel like IGORR could use this
I'd like to see what this could do if it was a bass guitar.
something Wes Borland would likely to use for big dumb face... LMAO XD
i want RGB on that wheel
The most annoying musical instrument I've ever heard if you can call it musical.
I have absolutely 0 interest in this rig.
Now this guitar definitely needs a sister that does all the chord stuff on the neck on its own and you just strum along.....
A NASA engineer walks into a bar with a drum machine and a guitar and they all get drunk. Voila! 🤯
Ideal for the person who cant play guitar then😂 sorry not for me, you cant beat the sound of a real guitar, was this made for corrie hame.
Sounds very unique.
If AstroBot had a guitar made for him
