@@debrasams2362 they are great if you like fish, I mean fish that tastes like fish. Cockles are very tasty, not like hake or cod that are much softer. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@travelingsteps6618 Yes, this weekend is Thanksgiving for Canadians. Typically, it is a turkey or ham dinner. However, I am breaking tradition and going full on Mexican for my guests.
@@LAM0819 happy Thanksgiving. Our son, Lucas, studied his senior year of high school in Canada, I remember that thanksgiving was celebrated earlier than in the USA, but not so early. Do you celebrate always July 12th or is it the second weekend of October?
@@travelingsteps6618 my experience with “fake” ceviche has been using diced mushrooms in place of fish so I was expecting something like that. Thanks for the clarification. And by the way, cockles are not available at Costco in my part of the USA.
@@NovaStar1967 what a great idea!!! Never thought of substituting the fish with mushrooms. We have a Vegan friend who is going to go nuts with this idea. Thank you so much.
Interesting. I have never had cockles. Had to look up what it was. Thanks for sharing.😊

@@travelingsteps6618 it’s always in October. July 1 is our Canada Day celebration. What city did Lucas go to high school in Canada?
@@LAM0819 Lucas was in North Bay. It is a little town north of Toronto. He lived it.
We went to visit him and that area is gorgeous. ❤️❤️❤️

Wondering how it’s “fake” ceviche if it has seafood in it.
@@NovaStar1967 ceviche should have raw fish, and canned cockles aren’t raw. That is why we say “fake”❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@NovaStar1967 I thought Costco had the same products in all their USA stores. 🇺🇸
