Sorry everybody, I messed this video release up, and two versions were up at the same time, so I had do remove one! If you don't see your comment, that's why! Sorry for the inconvenience, and if you commented on the other video, please repost it here and I will make sure to respond!
I purchased these same Fox 2.5s minus the resi back in 2019 for my Tacoma thinking they would be amazing. It has been a rough driver ever since but having never used an aftermarket suspension kit, I wasn't aware just how bad they were until I watched your blind test with them. Sucks dropping $2,000 on a severely under performing kit.
It's annoying, but if you get them tuned you will be happy with them! Probably time for a rebuild anyway! Ask Wheel Every Weekend, Ian will get you sorted!
I have those same shocks. They suck. Getting rid of them soon and going with a kit from accutune that will be custom valved for ride quality. Wish I did it the first time but ya live in and learn I guess
Well, now I’m curious how the Fox 2.0’s adjustable perform. I bought the Fox 2.0 adjustable with reservoir and they are stiff. They don’t perform as well as I thought. I’ve had Kings, icons, Bilsteins and they all performed better.
please test the performance elite series! Also it would be great to see a comparison run on a different platform, just to see if the same shock brands perform the same on different vehicles. (curious to see if the fox 2.5 is just as bad on say an f150)
We definitely want to test the Fox PES! We use the Tacoma because it's one of the most popular offroad/overland trucks, and because we are a Toyota specialty shop!
I wonder if by saying “tuned for racing” they meant tuned to be used with a bolt on long travel kit. The extra leverage is probably required to work with their valving
What about the Performance Elite Series? Any plans to test those? Also on those... there's a history of the DSC adjusters seizing due to corrosion. That's why I avoided them at least.
I really enjoy these videos, but one thing I would have liked to see is how they perform on slower technical terrain. I don't have the desert blasting stuff in the Northeast US, but a lot of slower, rockier trails.
We did test slower rock crawly terrain in our first Shock Value series, and found that there was very little difference between any of the shocks. I think our biggest take away is that if all you do is rock crawl, don't spend all your money on shocks, when a smaller cheaper shock will work just fine.
@@OverlandOutfitters gotcha, thanks for the reply and the insight. Knowing that, I'm glad I only went with the Eibach 2.0 and didn't go any more expensive. I know some guys around here running Kings and such which I always thought was overkill.
Did the bilstein 5100’s out perform any of the other 2.5’s? The series has been amazing, would love to see other in-depth, controlled, blind tests of other products.. maybe tires, lights… I’ve been through countless videos and reviews with all kinds of claims. Having a one stop channel to put all those claims to rest would be a dream come true.
We would love to do more products! I'm very passionate about suspension, so that's obviously where we started, but I definitely want to get into other products. I don't know if we can do all of them "blind" but I would rather be wrong than put out bias information, so hopefully that's not an issue! What other products would you like to see?
@@OverlandOutfitters yeah well like you guys say in the video, I want it working out of the box. For most uses, that’s what people want, something that works without having to spend extra money to tune it. That being said I went with 6112s and love them! Looking forward to the mid-tier Shock Value Series
@@daniellopezd You can just get the fox's from a solid dealer and they'll valve them to your specific vehicle and use before shipping them. Accutune and others do this. Free tuning from the shop, and typically good dealers will take care of their customers and give a certain % discount on builds up to %25

@ $3600 for these Foxs just spend and extra $400 and get Bilstein 8100s which are bypass shocks and will do everything better.
Our first shock value test confirmed this!
Looking forward to the 6112 tier series. 5100 or 6112 is the question.
Pls test IRONMAN FOAMCELL PRO and BP51
The performace elite in the mid-range test would be interesting to see for sure!
Can you guys do some in depth videos on valving, what you can do to affect what shock characteristics?
Great idea, we have a truck in the works that we need to tune, so we'd love to shoot a video on that process!
Can you do a review on the 6112s

Any update on the newest video? Been waiting for the mid series to drop.
Did you include adjusting the DSC in the testing?
no adjusters on these shocks!
Would love to see the fox performance elite 2.5 compared to dobinsons MRR. Great job guys!

looking forward to the Ironman shock results/comparison.
Ironman coming next!
Let's talk about that lighting system... 🧟♂️👻
Shop talk with Fox Shocks!
Love the content 💯
Fox elite vs icon vs king would be an awesome video as well 😎

@OverlandOutfitters makes sense! Maybe could team up with a shop that does another vehicle just to see if results are consistent across platforms.

Long travel kits use longer coilovers though...
@@OverlandOutfittersyes of course, well i’m out of ideas.

they weren't tuned for racing they were tuned by Bobby Smith, and it shows
Do Ironman4x4 Foam Cell Pro
Bilstein 1#
Run it back
So Fox sucks? Why do I always see it being recommended everywhere?
Their stock valving in these shocks sucks *** they do make a very quality product

Not sure why people are such Fox fans. Their products are always such a let down. That goes for the mountain bike world too.
I do love my RockShox! Waiting for their entrance into the truck world haha
@@OverlandOutfitters or DVO! I really like the DVO stuff that came on my Ripmo AF.
