Live 12 is out now and there are a ton of new MIDI tools we can use to come up with fun rhythms and chord progressions. In this video I break down Ableton's four new generative MIDI tools (Rhythm, Shape, Stacks, and Seed), which essentially work like AI to help you create quick & inspired sequences that you can make your own.

What did the do with the clip envelope tab. I can’t draw in pitch automation anymore😢
yep it's there - the envelopes tab is a little tab above the piano roll, and then you will see options to automate MIDI Ctrl -> Pitch Bend below the envelope view.

For drums it's a really powerful thing, but looks like better to "generate" in old fashion way, when you stack chord + scale midi effects and pick random notes, imho at least

i'm really disappointed these aren't midi mappable. I get they are destructive, but I would love to LFO these instead of constantly having to move them myself. Not my usual workflow.
and they don't even have automation lanes :(

hahah I feel that. but creativity inspires creativity. it's like going to a museum or watching a beautiful film - one creative spark can send you down another creative avenue. or you can think of it as like collaging... collaging is a wonderful art form even through you're you're combining pieces of art that are already made. in uniting and curating pieces that already stand on their own, that's being an artist as well.
