  • If you lose one of your WF-1000XM4 earbuds and buy a replacement, you'll need to reset ('initialise') them to sync the earbuds together. You have to do this before activating Bluetooth pairing mode.
00:00 Put into case and hold both earbuds for around 10 seconds. Release when the case flashes red slowly.
00:21 The case will then flash green rapidly a few times to confirm initialisation. The earbuds are now synced to each other.
00:26 Remove from case and they will go into Bluetooth pairing mode.
Remove the previous Bluetooth pairing from your device before initialising the earbuds.
This will only work if the earbuds are on similar software versions. If one earbud is on v1 but the other is on v2, they won't sync.

Mine started blinking red? Is that bad or does it mean the same thing?

Will this not work if the earbuds have different versions of the firmware?

@ryanivanov6568 it's probably the firmware issue. That's what it was with mine.

@ryanivanov6568basically had the same issue. I was fortunate to get a pair of earbuds for 25. (Just needed one because I messed up one during repair) I tried resetting the earbuds but failed to connect. Came across your comment and currently have both plugged in and updating. I'm sure once it finishes I'll just plug in my other earbud and it should recognize it. At least that's what I'm hoping for

@ryanivanov6568 this is what I did, may or may not work.
My original(right ear) earbuds were on firmware version 2.0.0 to be frank, my replacements buds(left ear) were also 2.0.0 but I still had issues and saw your comment.
Being unaware of the original firmware, I figured my earbuds were on the latest firmware. So I decided to plop both replacement buds back in and updated it. (Fortunately I was able to do this)
Once it was updated, I tried to pair the replacement bus along eith my original bud. It still was giving me issues.
Restarted my phone, didn't change anything.
Then I was like hey, let me try ro plug my old earbud in, even though the ribbon cable ripped, it still work..surprisingly lol..
But that's when I found out, both original and replacement bud were on firmware 2.0.0
So nonetheless I was lucky enough to be able to update it.
So both pair of earbuds are all updated to 2.0.1
So I'd give it another shot.
So for the resetting process, all eardbuds and the case were at least 70% if not more.
Place both original and replacement earbud into the charging case. Two fingers on each earbud, to initialize the reset procedure? Idk but after a count of 10 Mississippi, the moment it flashed red I let go my fingers, it flashes green.
Then I still leave the buds there, fingers tapped down on earbud for another 10 seconds. Nothing happens. I let go. I take earbuds out.
      Repeat the same process.
And now I'm back in business.

Not sure about the firmware stuff, but mine wasn't pairing, what worked is:
Put them in the case and connect the case to charger (charge up the earbuds)
      Take both out
Put the new earbud in by itself then open the lid 6 times in 20 seconds (will start flashing red then green, then go back to flashing red)
      Take it out
Put the old earbud in by itself and open the lid 6 times in 20 seconds (same again)
      Take it out
Put both in and open the lid 6 times in 20 seconds (same)
      Take them out
Put them both in (will be flashing red) and put your fingers on both for 10 seconds (will flash a different frequency red for a minute then go green [paired], then go orange [charging normally])
Take them out and put in ears
Hold fingers on earbuds for 7 seconds, will give the Bluetooth pairing audio
Pair from phone or other device as normal
This wipes previous saves and stuff on your app but for me at least it got them working together fine. Good luck!

@@Sandcat87yeah the part where you put the new ear bud in to factory reset doesn’t work for me. I put the new one in and open and close many times it just never starts blinking red.
Also if I put them both in and factory reset it never stops blinking red

Never buy worstearbud. Charge back only 10 minutes after some day.
