Arent you suppose to pre-load the control arms before torquing them? According to the service manual, they suggest making a mark on the shocks before lifting the car so that you know the ride height so that you can preload the control arms before torquing the bolts. But that is for a 2007 mustang gt, which might be different from the 2012?

It would probably be a good idea to re-check the torque again after lowering. What is missing from my video is my pole jack on the rear axle to put a load on the shocks and to keep the axle from shifting while bolting the control arms back into place. But here are the install instructions from the manufacturer of the arms if needed.
BMR Rear Lower Control Arm Installation:
      1. Lift vehicle and support by the axle. Remove both rear wheels.
      2. Using a small screwdriver, unhook the brake cable were it attaches on the caliper. Slide the brake cable
      out of the control arm.
      3. Remove both control arm bolts using an 18mm wrench or socket. Remove the control arm.
      4. On polyurethane equipped models, lube the external bushing surfaces of the new control arms.
      5. With the narrow end forward, install the control arm using the factory bolts. The offset bushings at the
rear of the control arms face inward. Tighten all mounting bolts to 130 ft/lbs.
      6. Repeat steps 2-5 on the other side.
      7. Re-install the brake cables. This may be done by using a pry-bar to rotate the brake lever while reinserting the cable end into the slot. Zip-tie the brake cable to the new control arms.
      8. Using a grease gun with a silicone based polyurethane lube; lube each grease fitting with 1-2 pumps. For
maximum longevity, re-grease in an additional 500 miles and then every other oil change.
      9. Lower vehicle.

Ahh gotcha. Yeah most of the service manuals expect technicians to be using a hoist and not on the ground with jackstands. I suppose lifting the rear end and supporting the axle with jack stands, keeps the car at ride height and stable from moving. Thanks for the instructions!@@maurices_garage
