    I have something like that in my garden shed, but I made the smoke stack closer to the edge of the cannister and then made a small steel box ie an oven that was welded over the center. Baked potatoes are great on a cold day and also keeps my kettle hot for when you stop for a lunch break.

    Good job and great Video but does the fire get enough Air through the few Holes?

    • @workshopsatisfaction5913
      @workshopsatisfaction5913  6 років тому +4

      After igniting we leave the door open. After it starts to burn we close the door and the fire gets enough oxygen.

    What was the steel plate for that you welded in the top? Not seen that done before

    • @workshopsatisfaction5913
      @workshopsatisfaction5913  5 років тому +2

      It is there to divert the flames and slow down the burning of the wood.

      It's a "Baffle". And it not absolutely necessary, but it sure does make a difference. Nice work on the project. But what happens when you close the door? Does the fire go out? It needs a combustion air inlet.

    • @workshopsatisfaction5913
      @workshopsatisfaction5913  5 років тому +4

      There are small holes at the bottom letting air in. These are big enough to keep the fire going once its burning on it´s own. This has the advantage that the fire burns slower and you don´t use so much wood.

    Artsy fartsy but Not very instructive and it lacks explanation as to how you use the machine other than building a roaring fire in its chamber. Not impressed But oh sorry I don’t mean not to be respectful the overall look of the video was cool and took a lot of work it was entertaining thank you.

    Only Idiots would work on a propane tank without pulling out the valve and turning the tank upside down over night to let all the propane gas escape !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      We flushed it with water.

      I used to know a man that filled a gas tank with water to weld on it after he drained all the gas out of it . He had the scars on his face for the rest of his life from it blowing up on him. I always turn the gas tanks upside down so every bit of gas can drain out / fumes and leave it that way for days minimum over night. You do what you want but I would rather fill them with exhaust if there were the slightest possibility .
      Best wishes and good luck.

    • @workshopsatisfaction5913
      @workshopsatisfaction5913  4 роки тому

      Of course you have to empty the tank afterwards by turning it upside down. That‘s what he probably skipped or just didn't do it careful enough.

    • @sojournsojourntraveler1203
      @sojournsojourntraveler1203 4 роки тому

      Yes
      There is also the issue with gas tanks like some Hondas
      They can have inside ridges that can hold up to about a cup of gas
      even when turned upside down.
      Peace

      Did you watch the first 15 seconds? They said they flushed and burned the tank. Also there is no valve on the top of the tank.
