Air Vent Stove from Car Rims

Inspired by the traditional “Bullerjan” stove and wood ovens made of car rims
I built this convection oven.
My idea was to use the profile of the rims as air channels to maximize the efficiency.
Cold air is sucked in to the channels from below. It flows against the furnace wall where it is heated and blows out of the top. This ventilation is the key to the efficiency.
I used:
2mm sheet metal (for the outer paneling)
Stainless steel rods and screws
Wenge-wood for the handles
A mixture of hydrogen Peroxide 12%, vinegar and salt (ratio 4/1/0,5) for the rust

I used over 15 years old winter tires !!
OK
probably not so good grip anymore
I have this one. Non effective (((
Great Design. Do you sell them with your Logo on it?
Do you ever sell any of your creations? Down here in Key West, I’m sure you could sell that for a few thousand dollars.
Hey darlin! 75 year old woman here! Just letting you know we girls are our here watching and enjoying the beautiful work you're doing too! I would suggest to any metal worker, artisan, machinist - to watch your videos! Your precision and tenacity to make the best is admirable! Thank you young man for entertaining this
"Rosie Riverter" girl!😁👍
A BIG BIG thanks🙏🙏
I learned more metal shape tracing techniques in this 20 min video than i did in the last 20 yrs. thank you very much for this video. Awesome job.
I dont know what to love more: the final product or the inventive self-made tools and jigs.
Old world craftsmanship, with modern style and fabrication skills. Exemplary work!
Those tires were in better shape than the ones on my car :(
Ali Erikenoglu I was looking at them thinking of how it was a shame he didn’t save them or at least sell them
@@chuckbecher9381 ...agreed :) I hope all is well with you and yours during this Covid19 thing.
Yes, and then he cut them up.
What a waste of good wheels and tires ....this dude needs to find a metal recycling scrap yard !
He stole them
Man, you do awesome things, don’t disappear for a long time.
Very rarely videos are released and it is frustrating.
Come on more, we need you 😁🤝
I support this comment!
I am a chimney sweep who deals with lots of stoves and this stove has everything every stove could need and more. The design behind it is genius and beautifully executed.
Seriously a masterpiece, I'd give anything to have one like it.
What about it do you like the most?
I had such an oven almost 30 years ago in the Dutch city of Zwolle in a converted windmill, where there is now a bar inside and the oven was perhaps one to two sizes larger in the middle and the entire room was warmly heated :-) I will never forget ...
It's not the result that impressed me, it's rather the way you got there. Your craftsmanship of making tools and negative forms, is what's really outstanding in this video.
My Uncle made something like this 50 years ago only he used a steel drum with 6 inch pipes going through it, three from each side in an "X" layout. He then used the center of the "X" as the location of a steel mesh platter to hold the wood. The inductive nature going from a cold floor to a warm fire is incredible and it pumped out hot air out the top sides of the unit like nothing I had ever seen. It heated up his entire 4 car garage workshop.
yes , that's why BULLERJAN are famous..
This gets "thumbs down" from people? Negative comments? My gosh, is no one amazed by his use of templates to achieve fitment of that caliber?
I am pretty sure it is from people who can't heat their house with a wood stove, and some other green activists 😂
I was already impressed just watching you roll the tires into your shop. 👏
Litterally paused at 15 sec just to scroll down and find this 😂
@@hvgpilaatkaiken2300 He accomplished more in that first 15 seconds than my entire day.
I don't think any school teach that. genius!
Quality craftsmanship....attention to detail👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👍🏽👊🏽
the amount of design solutions and fabrication methods described in your video is AMAZING.
Thank you for documenting and sharing.
С таким количеством качественного инструмента, можно позволить купить себе любой, даже самый дорогой, болерьян.
А так всё чётко, загляденье просто 👍
This quarantine is making me watch all types of cool videos.
One takeaway I have from this is how to make my own contour gage from skewers, zip ties, and a couple of thin sheets of wood. Neat idea that I will borrow for any future need.
You sir are not only a craftsman but an artist! Excellent skills in fabrication. The end result is utterly fantastic!
Damn, was expecting a regular rocket stove with rims instead of a beer keg or drums, but man, that was a ton of engineering and work!
Nice job. There were a lot of good tips in the video too. I really enjoyed your format (no music & no explanation). Thanks for sharing.👍🏻
Those looked like perfectly good tires you cut up there...
BAM5 I was thinking the same!
Some people have enough money to afford that. I would of sell them...
I was thinking too possible 6 years life spand.
Most functional piece of art I've seen in years!
They say there’s an angle to every dangle and he has them all, a true craftsman at work, great to watch. Thanks
Really A1 metal fabrication skills and creativity, I laugh at all the smart comments when %99.9 of the yokels making comments would not have the first clue how to use a hack saw! Well done !
Superb ingenuity and craftsmanship. Videography is top notch. Well done.
Way to impress me right off the bat with that rolling technique.
a very clever design- using the heat to suck in air and the circulation of the hot air afterwards to heat the room faster. Thumbs up!
1 minute of silence for those barely new tires. #RIP.
yes I agree, the only moment of the video I wasn't just enamored!
"barely new" ..... seriously?
Try "barely used".
Dang, the discarded tyres looked to be better than the ones I drive on every day!
me 2
I think there are plenty of people that have worse tires on their car.
ingenious!!! You Sir are QUITE the CRAFTSMAN!! ...and TYSM for presenting all this in ONE SITTING!!
I was impressed with him tower rolling the tires in.
Beside the build being just awesome, there was some very transferable ideas & techniques, I learned a lot with not one word spoken. Thanks
this is what happens when a welder is on quarantine in his shop. great creatvity, awesome craftsmanship. well done.
You know, those old videos from the 50's, of a teenage girl losing her mind as Elvis sings on stage? Yes, that's me watching this guy! I think I'm in love. Sir, you're my Rock Star!
When you started rolling the wheels on top of each other I knew this was going to be good. Mad respect man
So basically, with an angle grinder, a few mole grips, a plasma cutter and a TIG & MIG welder you can create anything?
I'm waiting for the toilet build...
@@HopefulPessimist Aaaaahhhhh ha ha ha ha ha Tell me you're not serious!!!Aaaaahhhhh ha ha ha ha
Yeah
You don’t even need the TIG or Plasma if you get good with MIG and a cutoff wheel.
Another VICTIM.... I don't have this and I don't have that... Like their down at the local welder store HIDING IT ALL FROM YOU...
Can't stand a whiner..
"Must be nice to have a this or a that...."
TRUST ME... Bought my first Lincoln welder from a PAWN SHOP.... Plasma cutter??? NOPE so far they still hiding those from me too... lol
Не знаю как она будет греть Но душу согрела Спасибо за твоё терпение и труд А кому сделал эту печь 😉
You are not only a skilled craftsman, but also an artist
Your 1 hell of a fabricator young man .gave me some great tips for up coming projects .Thanx again "The Majestic Knight Of The Blue Light"
Genius! 👍
Wow! The quality fabrication and welding is amazing, but what really stands out is the design of this wood burner. Thanks for this exceptional video.
Just one finely crafted exotic wood stove. Excellent video. Thank you.
The only thing that impressed me more than the final result was how efficiently and smart you worked! I don't do any metalwork, but I certainly picked up a lot of useful stuff I'd keep in mind if I did.
Definitely picked up a few moves I’ve never seen. With the clay, the wooden plasma set up. Good stuff. THANK YOU
A..friggin..mazing!!! I watch the videos on this channel repeatedly. God! There s such good detailing!
Beautiful work. Thanks for posting.
Взял и хорошую резину покромсал!
Не стал заморачиваться
В замен заморачивался с печкой , а зачем, непонятно
Даа, жалко резину
That has to be the best build ive seen on UA-cam in many years... excellent
Your FREE HAND SKILLS are OUTSTANDING!!
Wie kommt man nur auf solche Ideen?....Ich hoffe Sie überaschen uns bald mit neuen Videos....einfach exzellent
Sir. You are an absolute craftsman and a genius. You skill's are outstanding. Thank you very much for sharing this with us all.
You didn't steal the wheels off the neighbor;s pickup did you.... That is the best build I've seen on youtube in a long while.
Finaly someone on youtube who is able to weld 🙏
I’m impressed at your coping skills! From the vent, to the side wall baffles.
Loved the no need for music or speaking. Some very clever jigging there to aid your skills. I loved it.
At first I'm thinking this is way too complicated but your finished product freaking art man! That's killer
You have some serious SKILLS, my friend. Great video and a ton of knowledge for anyone wanting to learn. Thanks for the free teaching!
Brilliant buddy 👏 👍 👌 😀
I think it’s outstanding! Lot of work? Yeah, but that’s not the (only) yardstick I use for awesome. Dude had an idea. A tight one. Made good design decisions throughout, per WHAT HE WANTED. Every step he was smart gettin’ it done. Great tools, great skill, excellent outcome. Y’all w the incomprehensible downvotes: I can’t imagine by what (petty small-minded) criteria (of yours) that you presume THIS guy ought adopt rather than his own. It’s possible he conceived of, planned, and did a kick-butt build because it was bloody satisfying. Made him happy. Made a perfectly good vid too. There’s just not very many guys who can execute on an idea, this well, start to finish. Way too many slack jawed mouth-breathers unacquainted with the pleasure of having ideas, figuring stuff out, and taking it to completion. Downvotes... there’s a whole other sick out there, and in weak moments, I wish stoooopid turned painful should it shamble outside monster-trucks and pro wrestling, to where the grown-ups are talking. Upvotes, recognition, and respect to stayathome!
Well said.
Agreed, good sir. This video was not only a joy to watch, it taught me a thing or two about a thing or two. Excellent all around! I subbed after this video.
Brad a BIG BIG thanks🙏 for the words of appreciation, stay healty bro
Я всё ждал, когда полетит.
Beautiful build. Inspirational, informative, entertaining… I love the cherry on top, beautifully carved fire starter at the conclusion.
I’d say your a show off, however, as i watched, i discovered you are nothing more than a brilliant accomplished artist. A perfect storm of talent and tools!
A BIG Thanks 🙏😘
I love the wooden stick depth gauge, very clever
Fantastic job! Their constrution techniques are spectacular! Congratulations!
Hard work you have done here. I appreciate you for that.
The fabrication of the chimney onto the wheel rim is something else. Impressive!
Amazing shop! Craftsmanship! Major Effort,! Ingenuity! = Great result! Out of my league.
I quickly realized that this is well beyond my skill level. Very cool maybe one day I can attempt to screw something up that might have been that nice. Just the visionary skills to imagine it is out of most people’s league.
Holly sheeeeeeeet! Hands down the most amazing stove I’ve ever seen. And the craftsmanship is just astonishing. So many cool ideas combined in a single piece. Hats off!
A BIG Thanks 🙏😘
You are AMAZING and this is why I miss working in a shop. I was going to buy the tool to trace odd shapes until I seen your video and how you made one. I gave my stove up for a pellet stove as it is safer in this old house.
I immediately learned something in the first 6 seconds. How to move 2 tires at once. Thanks.
I know right. Will probably be the only bit of info I'll actually end up applying to life
What a beautiful piece of engineering and creative thinking. Congrats. J
Even lighting the stove with the wood shavings was artful. Nice work.
Bauhaus Bullerjan! Incredible work.
(J Hales, maybe keep your contempt to yourself? Do you see him as a threat?) I love it buddy. Circulating air. Good looking and effective. Well done.
That was a real feast for my eyes... Amazing design and craftsmanship... thanks for sharing...
That is great! I enjoyed watching you make that piece of art.
I'm old enough to remember when craftsmen had skills like this. Anyone can stick two pieces of metal together but this guys shows some true skills, ie, making a home made former to get the correct profiles. He didn't learn this out of a book. I would think he has watched some old timers to have picked up those tricks.
Brilliant job and nice video.
Well done young man
Aperently craftmen today allso have skills like that :D
A BIG Thanks 🙏😘
Impressive artistry and craftsmanship!!
You are very clever. I like the jig used to cut the rims with. You do wonderful work. A true master of your craft
Stellar build! Your tricks of the trade are over the top.
Amazing! Even the fire burns backwards at the end
У нас такая резина по 2000 за штуку стоит. И на ней ещё четыре сезона ездить и ездить)))
Beautiful work
As a machinist I have worked as a welder/fabricator also. Your attention to detail and fab skill are enjoyable to watch. Thank you for posting some of your work here. :)
A BIG THANKS for your appreciaton 🙏🙏🙏🙏
With those vents, cranking some heat out, NiCe. Love
This dude made a contour gauge out of wooden skewers and zip ties just cause he could. Damn 0.0
I learned the trick using arc welding rods.
I love the circle plasma cutting jig.
I have seen a lot of stove being built but this is my favourite of them all.. Well done
wow, lots of work into that... love the design and the efficiency in the heat rising around.... very inventive.
Great rim job!
Beautifully made a True Professional thank you so much for sharing love your skills & craftsmanship
that was a great build...lug nuts, nice touch!
I enjoyed watching 👍🏾👍🏾
Pure passion for the art of fab, I tip my hat to you sir!
And here I am ,just working every day trying to pay the bills. This guy reeks of success snd free time.
Well spent time, hence his success. Meanwhile, we watch and moan
Ok, the skewer stick idea was freakin GENIOUS!!!
