I really like it when you share with us that you picture yourself inside the puzzles you buy that feature places with houses or restaurants. Sometimes I am like, you know what? That is pretty awesome. I realized that you are not inviting people to be in there with you because you mentioned in another video you are an introvert. You have your different places and travel all over the world inside your puzzles. This one you did is beautiful, I love the colors and the place 😃
That's funny, I never realized that I don't invite anyone, not even my own family, and I'm always by myself LOL! I guess that must really be the natural introvert in me lolol. I think the only time I did invite anyone was in my 3D puzzle review of Neuschwanstein Castle, and said you all can stay over because I had plenty of rooms. But really, my puzzles are my escape from everyday life. "Alone time" is hard to come by for me, so I like to escape in my mind.
Cobble Hill is my favourite. I love the wilderness and farm puzzles the most. The posters hang on my wall when I am finished with the puzzle. They are the best... and they are Canadian!
I love Cobble Hill puzzles. I have a large collection of lovely images by them. I am glad you were able to try one. And I do not sort in the beginning. Later I will gather pieces according to what section I am puzzling.
It for sure is a brand I want to start collecting! I never used to sort in the past. I only really started when I was gifted the sorting trays. I think soon, I may try going back to my old ways and not sort before I start, just to see how much longer it'll take me to complete the puzzle.
Happy day!!! mail just delivered a new Ravensburger 500 piece puzzle Tropical Waters... got all my chores done.. Im ready... I put it in a colander and shook out the puzzle dust that really worked..... enjoy
Oooo nice! I can't wait to start my first Ravensburger puzzle. I got a few other videos lined up before then, but its coming for sure! I make sure to use a colander when I do though lol. Enjoy your new puzzle!!
I sometimes sort and sometimes don't. The next puzzle that I plan on doing I am going to sort. I really enjoy your puzzling videos and the stories that you make up.
Glad you like my videos and crazy stories lol! I'm actually considering sometime soon to not start my puzzle by sorting. I never used to sort before I was gifted the sorting trays, so I'd be interested how I'd fair now in terms of challenge level and completion time
I love Cobble Hill puzzles, they are great quality, and I love random cut pieces. I used to live in Cobble Hill where these puzzles are named after and originated from. There are so many images that there is something for every puzzle lover.
I'm gonna be honest, I had no idea Cobble Hill was an actual place and is where they were named after. Thank you for sharing this! I haven't worked on a Cobble Hill in a long time, so I think I should pick up a couple during my next shopping trip.
Random cut is such a fav of mine- it spices it up for sure!! Those pieces that are slightly curved- you get use to them, I can normally pick them out just putting my finger along the line now, you can feel that TINY slant or curve
Thanks for the tip! It sure can be confusing sometimes, but I know I end up finding the pieces somewhere else in the mix lol. I am starting to really enjoy the random cuts.
I love Cobble Hill puzzles. The crazy shapes adds a whole new dimension to the experience, and they're such good quality. Due to the shapes it definitively can't hold up to being picked up the way a standard piece puzzle can, though.
I agree. The hold isn't great, but what's more important is that the process is very enjoyable when you throw in the crazy shapes. Makes it a lot more interesting.
LOLOL! I've made it a goal since my Dowdle review to somehow insert myself in the puzzle image for my review video thumbnails. Almost just like how I imagine myself in them from my stories! This one is my favorite so far! I'm ridiculous LOL!
I am making cook books by white mountain you showed it in the first shopping video the way I am sorting it it will take me awhile to finish sorting I have decided to sort them by row I have used my magnifying glass a lot white mountain now has caught up with putting poster in puzzle box wish it was bigger. I like white mountain puzzles because they have bigger pies and cheaper than ravensburger and other puzzle brands. Look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Hey if you have time will you look at the cookbook puzzle it’s called Betty Crocker cookbooks my first puzzle was a Betty Crocker cookbook it was actually called the Bpys and girls cookbook. I use an ott light I got a stand up one really helps my puzzliing check out Amazon and Joanne fabrics puts them on sale too. Thanks for being you funny and good story teller. Have a good weekend. 😊
Oh yes, I nearly picked up the White Mountain Cookbooks puzzle! It's definitely one I will get at some point and complete with you all. I'm really looking forward to reviewing my first white mountain puzzle, and seeing how big the pieces are. Thanks for the info and always being so supportive!
I love Cobble Hill! I collect Cobble Hill - unfortunately they are downsizing their box and I love the larger box size for sorting. My collection is over 30. Great quality!
Oh wow, I wouldn't mind also having about 30 Cobble Hill puzzles! I do plan to start collecting them, as I love their images! Someone else mentioned about the smaller box sizes, and I wonder what made the company decide to do that. Either way I don't mind, but a smaller box size would fit much better on my shelves.
I love the quality of Cobble Hill puzzles, although I have only done 2 so far. My favorite was called We Are All Mad Here, which was a tribute to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, not the Disney interpretation. I love the Venetian Cafe that you did, but strangely I could not find it on Amazon or on Cobble Hill's website. Could it be discontinued? Anatolian has the same image, but with 2000 pieces, but I have never tried that brand.
I really need to pick up another Cobble Hill, as this is the only set I have from them. That Alice set you have is absolutely beautiful! That's weird, my set is probably discontinued then. Maybe you'll have some luck finding it on Ebay? I haven't tried Anatolian either. I have to check it out.
I have done one Cobble Hill puzzle and I was a little disappointed at the loose fit but agree that the pieces are sturdy and the image is clear. I sort as I go along so decide on what section I'm going to do and get those pieces out and carry on like that. I don't have the patience to sort all the pieces.
Oh, so the loose fit is a common thing then?! I wasn't sure if it just happened to be my set, very interesting. I feel at least it wasn't as bad as a Ceaco puzzle, but the pieces themselves are wonderful. I still plan to collect more sets from Cobble Hill. In regards to sorting, I'm thinking about starting one of my next puzzles without sorting, and seeing how it effects my completion time. I never used to sort before I was gifted the trays.
I’m really enjoying your channel. Thanks for sharing another fun puzzle video! Cobble Hill is in the process of switching over their puzzles to a smaller box that comes with a poster. Once they switch to the smaller box I am ready to order a handful from them. I’m not much of a sorter but when I do come across a peeling piece I use Tombow Multi Mono Glue to to glue it back together because that glue doesn’t bleed through paper.
Happy you're enjoying the channel, and thank you for the gluing tip! I really should repair my peeling pieces as I find them. In a way I'm glad to hear the boxes are switching over to a smaller size. It'll fit on my shelves a bit better.
I have done a few Cobble Hill puzzle and they seemed to hold together ... I do not sort. I have large plastic serving trays from Hobby Lobby I turn all my pieces over then gather as I go per section... for glare I use a floor lamp with a swivel arm and turn it as needed and I also use a daylight bulb. you would think puzzle companies would address the glare issue I still like Ravensburger the best for quality I only wish they had more images I liked and a poster. As always I enjoy your commentary and up beat personality... Happy Puzzling
The glare drives me nuts! I still plan to try out a daylight bulb, but a swivel arm floor lamp sounds interesting. Sometimes when I'm editing the commentary, I afraid I'm rambling too much, but I'm glad you're enjoying it! While I puzzle, I journal my feelings/issues/experiences/etc, so I'm basically just reading off what I had written.
