Man, this one was so fun. ❤️ Love seeing you working with any camera, always has your voice to it.
Hey Matt, I see you and other photographers shut your mouths about BLM & all the black shooting deaths…
You should do a follow up, do some research, see if the death tolls are down since your boy Biden got into office for the black community.
Cause now you look like a bandwagon talking head joker throwing a opinion out & fading away on the issue afterwards.
Top 10 anime betrayal
😂
LOL
Hahaaha
XD
lmao
came for the clickbait, stayed because I know Willem is a great photographer and can create with whatever camera
Hahah thank you 🥰
Willem & Fujifilm is the perfect match
Willem is a national treasure. So is Taylor. And a lot of other people 😄
Yeah, a guy that has driven interest and demand in film photography and a company that continues to divest from film photography are the perfect match... Keep the sarcasm, if you find any. ;) No hard feelings by the way. I don't hate on Fuji. They're innovative and they gotta do what they gotta do.
Seeing your work in a publication feels unreal. It makes me happy that you've gotten the opportunity to take on a challenge like that. I'm curious about your thoughts on shooting for a job vs shooting leisurely. Does stress or time crunch change the creative process? Negatively or even positively? Would be a great video topic.
It feels entirely different to begin with because of where the images are going and what they’re supposed to say :)
I love that Willem is the ultimate proof that it's the photographer and not the camera 🙌🏻
There it is
The moment you get that dream camera from fujifilm is the moment you can say you made it! Congratulations Willem!!!! More power brother!
Bro those vids are chill, calming, and makes me learn much from them love them bro keep it up 💜.📸
Great way to feature the camera and really showcase what it can do! Photos speak for themselves, the adapter a smart move and congrats on the assignments you nailed it
Beautiful shots! and I do agree with you on your take regarding the beauty of having slower process.
Think its always great to be pragmatic when choosing your tools for a project. Also blending old with the new is always when things get interesting!
its so cool to see you doing this type of work. so proud of what you’re doing, congrats!!
Found your Channel many years ago when i was looking how to make a zine. Been a fan ever since. Keep up the great work man!
Very cool photos, Willem! These projects turned out fantastic!!!
Love the ‘on assignment’ nature of this man. Excellent work as always. I’ve owned the XT4 for some time and it’s such an amazing piece, but the GFX100s looks on another level altogether.
The long weekend strap on the fuji, best use of a shot in reverse! Love the work man you are such a treat to watch.
Dude! This is so exciting, I'm thrilled to see what you make with it! The adapted medium format lenses really make for spectacular results!
ahhh these are so cool, congrats to the publication!
I remember when you picked up the Fujifilm xpro2 camera a while ago nice seeing you get into Fujifilm system again ! Also love seeing your work being published in the LA Times super inspiring 🖤
Love the video Willem!!! My order of Sunny Side just arrived here in New Zealand, it's so awesome to see the prints in person
Yep, there is a time and place for both formats. Nice work and congrats on the projects. KB
Congrats on your acquisition , and congrats on you LA TIMES gig. Been watching you for a while , you deserve all of this good luck and snap away.
GFX100S is a beast. Will be fun to see what you'll snap with it.
Imo digital photography in of itself is more fun to me because I get to create my own "film stocks", all sorts of different color grades and looks. It just seems endless and fun
Amazing composition + amazing digital camera = magic!
Great video as always!
Cool to see your photographic style translated onto the medium of digital photography!
Congrats on the projects! Great work!!
Hi Willem , just got my copy of On The Sunny Side of The Street. Great work! Love how you have made images of “ordinary places” look so amazing by using the best light. Photography is really all about light. I’m a Bermudian photographer and shoot mainly film and really enjoy your videos. Thanks for the great book!
Well done, mate! The cameras, lenses, films and sensors are nothing but tools.
Thank you very much for your videos!
All the best.
Congratulations on the gigs. Great work!!!
The concept of the shift blew my mind! Thank you for sharing!
good lord, these stills are Beautiful. You have some of the best composition and color editing I have ever seen
This video is pretty timely as I am also making the shift from film to digital for a bit. For me it comes down to cost. So I picked up a used fuji x100f and it has been nothing but a joy. Dope to see your work being published :)) love you and your videos 💕
I am now using a ricoh gr as a main camera instead of film :p its compact wich i liked about my fuji mji 1
Ive stuck with film because I know it and its way cheaper than digital
@@pilsplease7561 wait what?
muito legal, willem. and the dunes!!!! this building is almost a character on the show 'insecure' 💛
Amazing work! Great to see how you capture commercial work.
Those projects turned out really well! Nice to see it helped you turn those around quickly.
Great job, I appreciate that you are sharing your passion with us the film world. I am considering on getting the Fujifilm 100s just for the getting the results right away.
As soon as I saw the lens on the camera I recognized the 67 lens and knew you had to had adapter in there. I just recently started using my 67 lens on my Sony body using an adapter too. Didn't realize that there would be no crop factor on the lens due to the focal length being in 35mm terms. Definitely interested in looking into a tilt shift one next. Didn't know how they worked but this video gave a good a example of how it works
Beautiful work, congrats!
The apartment building project was so cool I love the outcome of all the pics and the magazine!!!!!
I absolutely love the workflow on my Fuji too.
I really like your channel, Willem. Great content!
Wow!!!!
I thought I was the only one that liked those apartment names. They are so cool and beautiful.
Nice shots, nice camera, and glad you shared your gig, but I couldn't help thinking how much nicer the shots would have been on film...
LFG! Can't wait to see what you do with that monster camera!
Cool. Seeing some of the world through your work. Thanks
Yes! I have my GFX 50R! And my RZ67 is still in the arsenal. GFX w/ adapted Mamiya 645 lenses for now. I'll get a pl-to-gfx adapter and really work it's magic!
Your photos are still incredible, film or digital. It's the same awesomeness
Love the timing, I just picked up a GFX 50R for myself!
You absolutely smashed both those projects dude. Getting those images in 45mins, insane.
Definitely cool projects, congrats! IMO, your images turned out so good because of the lens & adapter that you used. Definitely made a huge difference in the final product!
the pictures and the scenes are beautiful! u just earned a subscriber.
Sooo dope! Love to see it
thank you for the adapter mention, I was trying to figure out how to connect the Pentax lense to my GFX, I wonder if that tilt-shift feature works well for studio product photography when doing a sharp focus image.
I really like your compositions and the way you play with colors. To not see the filmgrain and the distinct colors of film in your photos is definitely not quite usual for your work but I am looking forward to see how you adapt your style to digital photography
I love this photography dude, great compositions
wait, imagine just shooting a text to fujifilm and they just ship you a camera, wtf??? Goals
It's so ironic seeing this video. I usually grab my film camera when running out, but this week I had to shoot some stuff for my work's social media. So I picked up my Fuji for the first time in probably a year, and I felt super guilty enjoying the fast turn around time!
After watching your video, I feel much better!
When you're in a position to just ask for one of THE MOST expensive digital cameras and get it sent for free... That influencer life!
so fucking wack. dude is a good photographer but I know dudes in my city with less then 2k followers that can produce far better images then this dude
Indeed
Lol, right? And imagine not even being the best or even decent photographer around.
@@Adrian-wd4rn I didn't say that. I enjoy Willem's work. I like his style and yes, certainly there is a certain saturation and lack of originality in the Americana motives, still I can't get enough of it when it's well executed. Willem delivers.
It’s literally the top of the line model from Fujifilm
The first project reminds me of John Mark Davis and his book Fonts in Paradise where he goes all over Honolulu, Hawaii capturing the mid century style signs in the buildings there. Stunning work with such a nostalgic feel.
I’ll check it out!
@@WillemVerb I think you’ll love it! It’ll make you want to take a trip to Oahu just to shoot around town 🤙🏽
Love it! Have you ever played around with fujifilm film simulation recipes?
While I love your videos, I can’t say anything about this video speaks how unique and amazing the gfx is. More like the reaction baseline digital camera features we’ve had for the past 15 years
Beautiful work ☀️
Love the work!
Really loved to see your work with the NYT. You killed it
The Desert Sands image is gorgeous! Now, was that a lot of post production, was the video capture just crappy-dull, or did the lighting change drastically while you were shooting it? Because the rich colors and snap that you froze in time were just not there when you walked up to it in real time. I was also wondering about the keystone and if you adjusted it in post, but you answered that question. Nice work!
How can one obtain a copy of the apartment sign article?
Would love to see your editing process!! Always love watching your videos
„What a concept“ got me rolling 🤣
I love the Fuji XT3 - feels like the closest digital camera to the analogue experience. Something about the metal and sturdy body too, the plastic in competitors just isn't the same.
Absolutely inspirational
I'm just pleased to have realised tilt/shift was involved before it was pointed out heheh. Simple pleasures etc.
I am glad to see that you added some digital content. I enjoy your film work, but it doesn’t hurt to branch out.
It seems many film photographers are slowly moving to GFX systems. It’s great ! GFX system is in continuation with film
I started with film cameras (Pentax 67, contax 645) few years ago. Never had a digital. In 2021 got myself gfx 50s and then gfx 100. GFX system is awesome choice for film photographers.
Im having fun to shoot with aero ektar 178mm 2.5 , SMC 105mm 2.4 with Kipon 0.7x , canon 85mm 1.2.
is the gfx system the same a for the x series?
*cue film youtube exploding*
Looking forward to seeing you work with the GFX for personal work.
Proud of you man!
Hi! Love your videos. I wanted to ask what microphone you use for your A-roll shots. Is it a rode video micro attached to some wireless transmitter?
Hey Will, what settings did you use for the Fuji?
That lens combo looks so wild
living the dream, my man! all respect
So glad to see you share these assignments. Can the magazine be purchased?
Love the video!
out of curiosity, how much editing do you do to get the look? Or does the fuji color science/inbuilt profiles do the magic?
Welcome to my world of Fujifilm my friend... The GFX100s is my main camera fro all my commercial Fashion, Beauty & Advertising work. and the film simulations modes are so nice too. :)
Very cool video. Thank you for sharing
Beautiful work
I’m also living in LA and never thought about apartment signs can here can be cool. Nice work 👍🏻📸
Shoot what you love, love what you shoot
Congrats!!
This absolute legend
Beautiful job ! I'm wondering how you managed to stick with your usual colors. Did you edit your images in Lightroom starting with the RAW files or did you use the Fuji film simulations in Jpeg ? I think you choosed the first option.
The publications are great. It seems that they respected the ratios. It's sometimes tricky to deal with this kind of problems. Everybody's not fantastic when comes the time to cut into the images... I sometimes got crazy when I saw my photographs printed as I was working for newspapers, many years ago.
awesome projects mate
It’s funny you mention taking on gigs that need a faster turn around cuz I got a few gigs this past month that I ended up just doing on digital for that reason. I haven’t used my Sony in like two years and it almost felt like a new experience so it’s kind of a nice little break from what I’ve been used to. As always, great vid!
I really like your videos. And am looking forward to more videos with you using the GFX100S. How did you like that GF50mm 3.5?
how was editing the raws? did you find it can do well in low light?
you're amazing man congrats! might pick up a new digital camera after years now finally lol
in terms of digital i'd thought you'd go with the fujiflim x pro 3,,if you have already tried it,what was your take on it?
Mann all in all everything about this is dop . But also shout out to the person who's shooting and edditing your volgs bro supper clean
Net mijn Mamiya 645 gekocht, thanks for the inspiration!
