I need some help so the blow by cam fowler on the side middle of my engine as i was breaking my motor downnmay have haf a bolt fall into it and into the engine. I haf tried to take it off but cant get the cam fowler off. Any helpful ideas?
The CAT C7 is one of my favorite Caterpillar motors. I love the ones used in the 1st gen/04-07 BlueBird Visions and BlueBird All Americans, love the engine!
Exceptional. I've rebuilt my share of motors and really appreciate the methodical approach, clear instructions and Attention to detail. Liked and subscribed.
I've rebuilt the C7 engine at least 10 times, I thought they assembled really well. The common failure I saw on most of them was piston failure, I think they were aluminum one piece and the skirts would some how get destroyed, causing really bad blowby. Nice touch changing the injector harness, those were always hardened and brittle.
We have a 2006 Freightliner School Bus with a C7. The HP rating is around 210. Are these engines as much trouble as what I have heard? We are in the middle of converting it to a Skoolie. Hoping it doesn't let us down. I put the IFS kit on it hoping to help with the HEUI system.
How many Cummins ISX heads have you had to do ? I had a stack of them cause of a casting flaw lot of them seem to get hairline crack in-between cylinders and start mixing coolant and oil. Just curious if you had same issue.
This is not a knock on what you do, I have a few genuine questions. One, you did not use the standard tightening sequence for the main bearings, (inside to outside), do you feel that is not necessary? There was no use of plastigage to check mains or rod bearings for clearance, again do you feel unnecessary? Again, the torque pattern for the head seems odd, I really don't know if this is spec for this particular engine, I have never built this engine, but it seems odd from all the engines I have built.
So I take it you can’t pull this motor apart with anything but snap on right can’t be done. Oh boy am I in trouble I rebuilt 100 J engines don’t have one snap on tool.
Thank you sir for taking the time to record this.
Watching it on a Saturday morning was priceless!
Glad you enjoyed it TolaTrucking and thanks for the comment!👍
This is very informative for those C7 owners out there, myself included. Thanks for taking the time to share the rebuild!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching child

hello what is the difference cat C7 and C7.1 ?
@@CR7_XJJ The 7.1 is completely different in design, and I think was originally was made by Perkins.

Motor bem fácil de fazer, rápido e sem muito blá blá blá, trabalhei num desses no d6t
I'd like to see an old school 3406b engine brake (346d) install.
Do you not check the ring gap before fitting on the piston?
Can you reuse the same head bolts ?
I’m planning to get into trucking Otr. I’m mechanically inclined. What truck do you recommend?
This engine looks very simple to work on
Is there a video where you do that taking apart piece by piece

Soooooooo opinions on the C7S? I have an ‘09 Bluebird 150k miles with one. So far so good but bought it before I read some other opinions 😬😬😬
I notice u didn't use plastic gauge like I see on most videos
Did you have the cylinders sleeved?
Where is Your shop and what do You charge to remove, rebuild & replace a C7 CAT motor, in a 2005 Thomas bus?
Do u breakdown a c15 acert?

What bolts can’t be used on reassembled engine
please show me the Caterpillar 3114 Engine rebuild
Do they make oversized piston for a c7?
IPD does. I like to go back standard if possible.
Question how much this engine cost
What’s price on this engine rebuild?
How much horsepower and torque does this engine make?
This particular engine is built to a 190-210 HP depending on the flash file. The torque is around 500 ft/lbs.
190-210 HP. 500 ft/lbs of torque
