I'm 59, and lived through some of the greatest shows in television history. "Scrubs' belongs in that pantheon, in my opinion. :-D
Undercurrent of kindness is the thing I need from more tv. Or I just need more Bill Lawrence created shows
We just need more Bill Lawrence shows.
Yes please. Nobody out there gives characters more depth and detail. You watch his work you need to be prepared to laugh and cry a lot within a few minutes from each other. He will always be a legend to me. Even though I am not sure he ever truly told us the janitor’s name.
Discovered this pod last month already 20 episodes in and it's easily my favorite. Love the relaxed vibe, the silliness and the philosophical insights. You've helped me more than you will ever know. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Keep doin what you're doin. Love it, love it, love it, LOVE IT! Bring back the old couch.
There are masterpiece podcasts in the archives. I only caught it aft this second year, but have listened to almost every one.
Absolutely beautiful conversation between two like minded people about their love of an Art form. Seriously was moved by the respect and joy that they spoke about what’s going on in each other’s lives and currently happening in the world. Well fucking done and Thank you!!!!!
Such a great conversation. I can't believe it has under 6k views. Keep up the good work Pete and Katie!
I'm so glad Pete is plugging BlackBerry. That movie is awesome! The acting and writing is soooooooo great.
How did you manage to score an interview with Rick Glassman's camera guy?
My dad has MS and he's always been comical about it. I asked how he was doing and he said, "well, walking is getting interesting".😂 he's strong in it, I'm 36 now and it wasn't until 30 when we actually hugged. That stereotypical old school man
Loved this one so much-great interplay between these two...from silly to serious, it's all in here. Thank you !
I think I just witnessed the beginning of a lifelong friendship
Great episode! Even my husband, who’s in finance and is gifted in strategy, believes in the power of “the story”.
Bill seems like such a nice guy. Very genuine.
I know! I have met a few of my heroes and it has been a mixed bag, so ya never know. So glad Bill is this genuine of a person.
The Fraiser episode in question is Season 2 Episode 8: Adventures in Paradise, at the 10:30 minute mark. Genuinely one of the funniest and most heartfelt scenes in the show.
came here hoping someone knew which frasier episode tysm hahaha
fun convo, legit lols to be had
Holy cow yesssss 2 amazing humans
Two of my goofball-comedy heroes!
I love everything about this conversation
This was one of the best ones of late, and we've had a bunch of good ones.
That's so nice of you, but I'm married.
This podcast is an armory of comedic artillery.
I enjoyed Shrinking on Apple TV+
This is the guy that discovered Rick Glassman and sent him an email saying he sucks at playing basketball with others
he didn't DISCOVER Rick, jeez
@@user-en9cb1go4u But he did, though. He casted him on Undateable after seeing him do standup. It was Rick's first acting gig.
THE CAMERA MAN IN TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF (Rick Glassman's pod) IS YOU? LMFAO THAT'S AMAZING
Great pod
About the henchman that's given a backstory, it's kinda what happens in Sicario. There's a cop and he has like pretty long sequences in the beginning where he wakes up and has breakfast with his son and wife, making plans, going about life,. Then you don't really see much of him, until he runs into our protagonist where he is unceremoniously popped by the side of the road and the movie continues.
Funny thing about the prayer story is that Bob Brannum wasn't Jewish or religious either. I'm his daughter and he did that to me too. I can also still say the prayer.
Well this is a good one. Love this guy!! Who are you and how did you get in here?..im a locksmith and im a locksmith..im dead😂
Totally get the need to monetize through YT, but it's just not the same when each episode doesn't start with "Is that a sauna?", followed shortly thereafter by "You can put you shoes on this couch, it's filthy." I’ve been listening for 10 years and still prefer to imagine what’s going on during each conversation, rather than see it from multiple camera angles. I somehow think it makes the guests less guarded and able to open up more if they’re not on camera. Keep up the great podcast, Pete!
40:70 "tImE 4 tHe MidRoLlS!1!
Too perfect
I'm from CT and I agree with the "got myself out" part.. at first I didn't think he was joking 😬
the henchman john wick conversation is literally an austin powers bit
Wow, man- 14:00. Too true.
...Choo choo.
Alas, all is good with the world
2:03:33 couldn’t laugh through most of the stuff I’ve experienced, so yes, can confirm that you’ll (me) turn to self medication, alcohol, and disassociation. I feel like a shell of a person now.
Pete does a good Brett Goldstein
Wow writers are WAY better podcast guests than actors
That sounds derogatory to actors. Actors are great guests, but writers just hit different in the podcast format
Wonder Years and MASH... Sounds like the '80s sitcom ER, which was literally pitched as a MASH-style sitcom set in a hospital and it starred Elliot Gould who would go on to be on Friends of course, and then George Clooney for some reason!? George Clooney was on two shows called ER! Same thing happened with Bill Murray, he was on a variety show called Saturday Night Live before the current Saturday Night Live aired.
Was this recorded before the writers strike?
Why does Pete's impression of his Mom sound a bit Vincent Pricey..
🎉🎉🎉
It’s hilarious that you said TYSO goes long, and this episode is 2.5 hours… so much for 90 minute max
William Larry.
Any chance of having Adam Sandler on here?
what's the gunky/gunk-free drink he likes?
1:25:30
Why?
👍🙂
Modest
Mice
So Bill Lawrence is doing for his daughter what his mom did for him 🥲

Comedians are manipulating me to feel sad? Wow, what a dirk move. Why don't you manipulate me to feel happy despite the fact all context and circumstances say I shouldn't be? Just like my government attempts on a daily basis?
I don't even know why I don't pay you. But more free content kplzthx
will not watch a sports tv show. Abolish sports
I was in until you repeated he is a dad. wtf? most boring thing.
