Todd, Robbie, and Logan, you gentlemen are the Real MVPs!!! I don't have the equipment or manpower to pull off something like that, but it was awesome to watch you seasoned vets do it! Be well and stay encouraged!
Amazing! Really cool video! The only thing with the stormy rainy weather that definitely says it's a set up - the water drops on the side screen roll/fall vertically top to bottom, which means the car is standing still, cause even on a very low speed you will see an aerodynamic picture of the drops been spread around the window front to rear due to the sidewind. So i guess to fake this You might also need a good fan close to the front fender. But - guys - respect - You're doing great videos!
This was an amazing video tutorial. I loved it. Lots of great tips. Loved the rainy night shot. The projector images was the best. This was my WOW moment. I've got to try is now. Thanks for doing such a great job. Keep doing more like this.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!!!! Just one thing I really wanted to know. How did they manage to get the tripod set on the passenger side without taking out the car seat?
hey Todd, (or anyone reading) I have a bunch of Par can light fixtures with standard light bulb screws. What lights would you recommend running in them? Eg is there an LED or fluorescent that can look the same as a hot incandescent light? Also I have a few Fresnel fixtures. Those bulbs are the kind you push in and twist 1/4 turn. I was using 500watt and 1k bulbs in them. They run really hot and always burn out. Is there an LED equivalent that can push in and lock like that? thanks folks.
Awesome , suppose he is taxi driver or it is family in the car and a guy is sitting in the other chair beside the driver how you will lit , hoping to see next tutorial, really your tuts are amazing , keep doing more lighting lessons
@@Democratese I'd say the hardest thing was keeping the light off of the screen, every once in a while the texture on the actual shower curtain itself would show. Especially during parts of the projected footage that weren't particularly bright. Thats the biggest thing to look out for.
Great video. Additional hint... Blue Screen for day and green for night. Blue mimics the light of day. Make sure the actor is not wearing anything close to the color you’re using.
I'm no vid editor, movie maker or fx guru, in fact I have no room to comment but shouldn't the rain move more diagonally or horizontally on the drivers window though, not straight down..?
the storm effects lacks one thing, a wind. you can see on the left windshield that the rain was going all the way down, not into the back of the car. that's all.
Great to know that "simple" technics. But don't forget smalls details which can ruin everything, like that steering wheel turned at 180 degrees while the driver is supposed to drive inline ;)
I was pleasantly surprised how good this turned out.

OUTSTANDING... how did you light the green-screen in the first setup?
Thanks! It was a Aputure 300d bouncing off of a poster board just above the driver side window. I talk a little bit about it around 2:35 - Todd

This was suuper helpful!
Exlent work
Awesome, keep up the good work.
Is there any course for video editing?
3:23 weirdest sex scene i've ever watched 😂😂😂
HAHA
ha ha ha .....
Great tutorial... What size/lumens is the projector that you used?
I don't know why they called it as "poor man's process" although it was a budget process but, rich in output😍♥️
Awesome video ! But there is a small problem with the rain, it should not run on the windows perpendicular to the ground because of the speed ! 😉👍👌
Good catch! Easy fix, run that blower so it hit the windshield and side window. That would move the drops sideways.
How would you go about doing a greenscreen shot for other angles instead of a side or back view? Such as a 3/4 view?
More of this!
This is a very unusual tutorial, Thanks for all the tips !
Awesome video! The projector technique looks great for night scenes but could it work for a day scene? Has anyone here successfully pulled this off?
the LED with the orange GEL isn't an aputure light storm, is it?
Great process

Nice tut, made me glad that I've been holding onto an old 3000 lumen projector for the longest time.
I was so glad I had mine! Never used it till now, and i was so suprrised how well it worked!
@@shutterstocktutorials anything you recommend with it? Was going to film my own b roll and pull the projector out of focus for the projected stuff.

thanks for this helping tutorial, but how you set the projection background ... did you put the projector behind the white-drop ?
Great!
HI do you mind giving the exact website for the footage you used in this video? the one with defocused? ThankYou!

@Shutterstock Tutorials Hello guys. Can I translate your video into Russian and show it on my channel?
Projector on a sheet to simulate driving at night rather then a green screen..........that's fucking brilliant.
Hold up,how did you recreate rain?
very nice
Cool!
