Sweet Sixteen combined with Delgado stalking the amusement park is by definition one of the most powerful scenes on Miami vice. Terrifying as well. Five flamingos. lol Great review. Here's one thumbs up.
I remember this episode mainly because of that ending. The whole episode was creepy and atmospheric and I was sucked in...and then the ending...what made it worse was what Crocket said afterward when someone asked him who was guilty, or who was the killer. Crocket looked down at the two bodies and said something like: "Take your pick." That bit of dialogue veered into self-parody territory at that point.
Excellent. I am sure I saw it on broadcast in the UK, Rag Doll is so memorable. Delgado was excellent. Along with some nice clothes it is up there with any of the season's episodes.
Loved the weird mixture of hardcore creepy and bizarrely funny in this one-- all of Crockett and Tubbs' undercover-at-Palmo's bits are delightful, especially all the toothbrush nonsense. Really enjoyed Tubbs being a drug dealer in a teal polo and white cardigan. XD Overall tight and well-written, and SUPER well shot. (Also, is Palmo's creepy staircase the same staircase where Sonny beat the crap out of the snuff porn guy?)
It was so funny...when this episode aired, everyone wanted that coral toothbrush. Don't remember the brand ...but my wife kept buying them for me, about five total.🙃
Perhaps no one has stolen this plot for a film b/c it already is the plot for a classic German filmed directed by Fritz Lang called "M" starring Peter Lorre as a child murderer. His killing spree causes the cops to crack down on Berlin's underworld. Their response is to find the murderer themselves and put him on trial
Agree with everything you said. That ending . . . . phewf. But, otherwise a standout episode of Season 4. I remember seeing John Bowman doing standup comedy in the late 80s/early 90s and he joked about how appearing on this episode opened the door to a lot of jobs baby-sitting :-)
@donholley77 : Yes. But it was still silly. He SUDDENLY thinks he can fly (for no reason and out of nowhere) and ONLY lands on the one person Crockett and Tubbs were investigating?
Thanks for this videos for all episodes, it's a great gift for us. I'm guessing you'll be giving four or five flamingos for the episode "Deliver Us from Evil"
As I discover Jan Hammer's score channels on youTube the past ten years, I now have the "Delgado" suite. He is without a doubt one of the creepiest characters, along with Legba in "Tale Of the Goat." I have both suites together on the same cd, which creeps my friends out.🙃 On a side note, Billy Idol's "Sweet Sixteen" is a reference to an architect with a house he'd built and loved.
Morgan Richter and Dark Justice was a bit of an underrated show too. It lasted three seasons, but not a lot of people remember it because it was on late night - it eventually was canceled to make way for Late Show with David Letterman

this episode is a homage to 1931 Fritz lang M starring Peter lorre
Odd that Morgan wasn't all over that...

I love how Tubbs just keeps needling tough guys.

Agreed. Well deserved 5 flamingos.
Reminds me of Death and the Lady. Potential to be a excellent episode. Full of mystery and intrigue only to end in utter garbage.

You guessed correctly! :)
I knew it :) because I felt the fact that you captured the emotional side of this TV show, It's rare.

Ironically, three years later, Ramy Zada would play a judge by day, vigilante by night in CBS’s Dark Justice
He's one of those actors who has never quite received the level of popularity they deserve. I like him a lot.

Creepy Dolls!!!! Lol 😂
Sometimes Morgan's reviews are almost as entertaining as the Vice episode itself.
